The hotel and appartments are a short drive outside of Firenzuola.Bee persistent in following the signs and you will find it in a beautiful peaceful location. The hotel has a restaurant a short way from the accommodation and that you can see from the road. The accommodation is in restored farm buildings, Lovely large comfortable room and en suite facilities... More

It took us many more hours than we were expecting to arrive at Gli Orzali and it was pitch dark when we finally found the place. There was thankfully a sign on the main road. Sabrina welcomed us and gave us two beautiful rooms. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. No wifi in the rooms, but... More

Yes, the road to Gli Orzali is 'interesting' but the scenery more than makes up for it. Sabrina and all the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Our room was clean and comfortable with lovely views. The nearby restaurant served beautiful Tuscan cuisine as well as a lovely breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend Gli Orzali.

Like all other reviews, I have to say the road to get there is challenging and difficult (even with a gps!). I took us 5 hours from Modena because we got stuck in traffic in Bologna, so I would highly recommend for anyone to stick to the A1 highway to avoid heavy traffic. We arrived at night around 8pm because... More

It took us some effort to get there, but man, were we rewarded. Gli Orzali is in the midst of the Tuscan mountains. To get there you have to drive up a climbing road, which is narrow and not execptionally well kept. But once you get there, this all is forgotten. We had hired the suite of the hotel, which... More

Reaching the hotel can be challenging. A small road brings you to a great located hotel, with its restaurant nearby. While booking early, we were given the opportunity to choose a Nido romantico per due, with upgrade to the suite and including dinner. What a big suite it is. Large living, and similar kitchen room with a fantastic view. As... More

Gli Orzali was a perfect escape to beautiful Tuscany. We arrived late in the evening (which I don't advise; you don't want to miss the scenery on the drive!) but Sabrina and her staff were fully prepared for us to check into our beautiful rooms immediatey. All three of our accomodations were outstanding. If you can book the suite, it... More

Our trip was a surprise week away for my birthday. What a fantastic surprise! The location in the hills give some of the most beautiful views of Tuscany. The rooms are clean and very well presented. Sabrina showed 1st class hospitality for our whole stay and I noticed this was shown to every guest staying here. Would whole heartily recommend... More

My family of three stayed at the Hotel Gli Orzali for three nights at the start of June 2012. An hour from Bologna and Florence, it is the perfect getaway after a city break. In early June the surrounding fields are beautiful flower meadows, and the hotel has a great view across the valley. It's a two minute walk into... More

We stayed at the Gli Orzali for the Moto GP race weekend. It is about half an hour from the circuit. It is exactly as we expected as pictures and information gained from late rooms prior to trip. We loved it and would stay there again. The owners were friendly and had a warm welcome for us. The lady spoke... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just a stone's throw from Florence there's a place in Tuscany where nature expresses its beauty to the full and the passing of time is still marked by four seasons. Here the inhabitants are nature's guests and tourists are made welcome by the kindness and friendliness that sets the Tuscan people apart. The symbiosis between nature and man has produced top quality food, wine and hospitality. This paradise can be found in Mugello, and Gli orzali is a perfect reflection of what the area has offer. The host's good taste and eye for simplicity bring the rooms at Gli Orzali to life. Large, bright windows contrast with the sobriety of the collection of antique furniture and upholstery, and create a play of colours that reflects the surrounding countryside. Each item has its place and is within reach, chosen to meet the needs of guests on a short break or a longer holiday, in what was once the lodge on a hunting estate. The 1700s farmhouse is divided into six apartments, all with their own entrance and fireplace. The furnishings vary from antiques to Tuscan Arte Povera, always with functionality in mind, and there are three types of accommodation to choose from. Two-room apartments with a double room where a third bed can be added, living area with kitchenette, and bathroom with bidet and shower. Three-room apartments with a double room where a third bed can be added, a twin room, a large living area, kitchenette, and bathroom with bidet and shower. Mezzanine apartments, which can comfortably sleep up to five people in a double room with a third bed and a twin room on the mezzanine level. There are two bathrooms with shower and bidet, and a kitchenette in the large, bright living area. In the warmer months, the outside area is furnished with tables, chairs and sun umbrellas available for guests to use. ... more   less
