Pratello is a small 18th-century hamlet located in the centre of a 320-hectare wildlife park with woodlands, olive groves and unique views. The Pratello area is mentioned in a law dated 8th November 1044, kept in the State Archives in Pisa. Since those days many noble families have owned this estate. The main villa was built in 1650.

All was great except the lack of wifi... We landed at the beautiful grass airstrip and we were escorted to the hotel about 500m away. The rooms, the breakfast and the dinner were excellent. Wish I had stayed more...

Stayed here with family for 5 days and this is a great place to stay. The hotel has traditional feel but felt modern at the same time. The main building is in very good shape and you can that money has been spent to keep to date. Pratello is a good location if you are flying into Pisa. Its only 40 mins from the airport but also very close to Palaia and Peccioli where you can get some very good meals for exceptional value. San Gimignano is also only 40 mins away with some stunning scenery along the way. The hotel's capacity is around 40 people so it is very intimate and quiet. It felt at time that we had the place to ourselves especially around the pool. The views from the terrace where breakfast and dinner is served are amazing. Breakfast is ok, not the biggest spread you will have seen but the dinner was fantastic, really tasty food. The pool is a few mins away from the main the main building however the pool bar was only open from 12-3. This was a bit strange as getting any drink or food outside of those times was a bit of a hassle. Overall a lovely place with spacious rooms in a great location. Service from the front desk was good and also very helpful.

2 nights here with family. The immediate impressions were wonderful - beautiful buildings and gardens and extremely welcoming and friendly staff. The rest of the stay didn't disappoint. Food was lovely, and lounging around the swimming pool within easy reach of the poolside bar was a delight. Would absolutely recommend and definitely plan to come back

We spent a week at this hotel in August and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The breakfast was an amazing selection of local produce and one of the highlights every day! The pool was quiet and in a lovely location with lunch and drinks available. We ate in the hotel restaurant on 2 nights and again the food was excellent. Other nights we went to the local towns Peccioli and Palaia and also to Volterra. Bedrooms were large with air con and there were lots of public rooms and outdoor spaces for relaxing. Hotel is about a mile off the main road, road to the hotel is narrow but in the week we were there, I think we met one car and we negotiated the pass without incident, just take your time Special mention for the staff who really added to our experience. They were friendly and very helpful with any requests

Had a couple of nights here recently and was extremely happy to have chosen it. Lovely room, excellent staff, very good restaurant for dinner, breakfast OK but nothing special, lovely gardens/swimming pool/tennis court ... Altogether homely and suitably upmarket.

We were so overwhelmed by the beautiful house and grounds after visiting last September that we are returning with our daughter in two weeks.. We booked a two bedroomed apartment 'Santa Maria' in the grounds of the estate and had the best of both worlds; with the addition of an balcony, lounge and kitchen. Breakfast was included and served each morning on an outside terrace with breathtaking views over rolling countryside. The food was amazing and prepared freshly each day. My daughter and I are on gluten free diets and there was a selection of dishes at dinner and even home made cake for breakfast! Every area of the estate was clean and well cared for and all of the staff were so welcoming.

We stayed here one night while travelling through Tuscany with our three children, but could easily have stayed here much longer. It is a wonderful place with much history, beautiful gardens with a magnificent view, extremely spacious and clean rooms and a wonderful restaurant! We hope to return.

The main villa and the grounds are lovely and very well maintained. Staff is very friendly, too. Unfortunately, the rooms (at least the ones in the annex) are a bit out of date: you hear every footstep of the people above you, the bathrooms are quite old and not comfortable, and in spring, everything was quite cold. The food also was a tad disappointing, they try to create quite inventive and elaborate dishes (like a version of Bottura‘s parmigiano dish), but the result doesn’t live up to the ambition. Overall a decent place to stay if you want to visit the area, but not a lot more than that.
