Beautiful gardens, nice and big pool, big bedroom w/nice view. Nice outside disco where we enjoyed a daily cocktail. Close to a big and cheap meal. We had a great day in Catamaran (Isla Coche). Cons: Sea view was gorgeous however, I didn't like the sea as well. It was really, really cold (we stayed for one week in June) and full of jellyfish.

I am currently on a week long trip to Margarita that takes me accross 3 different hotels from 28 May to 2 June. My first stop was at Eco Land from the 28 May to 30 May. It was with great anticipation that I chose to make this the first hotel to stay during the trip. I remember having fantastic times at this location that was previously called Dunes and couldn't wait to see it's transformation after the renovations. What a catastrophic end result. The once Grand hotel has been reduced to a mere section of what it once was in size. Dunes had at least 3 major pools and 3 casual restaurants, with one more for dinning. Now there is one restaurant, one pool and a little box they call a salt water pool. The grand reception area and lobby is no more. It was been replaced by a desk located in what was once a bar. To add to this nightmare, I arrived in the late evening and there was no electricity. We know that Venezuela has been having it's challenging with electricity, but you would believe that a large resort would have the capacity to provide generated electricity to the major areas. The generators just pushed electricity in the restaurant area. I had to be filling out my data card by flashlight in the makeshift lobby .I had to be escorted to my room by flashlight. The room had the dark appearance of a dungeon. No lights, no air conditioning and no ventilation. Thank God there was one area of improvement. The restaurant was remodeled and came with an improved look. The food still maintained a fairly high standard. However there were no shows, nothing much to see in the hotel. Those of you who stayed previously at Dunes would be shocked. I must also say that the staff tried their best to make you feel welcomed and the service they rendered under the conditions was excellent. Regards D Insurer

Our 1week stay at this resort was phenomenal. From the moment we walked off the bus. Exceptional service from the entire staff(gatemen,receptionists,kitchen/waitresses+waiters,room attendants, maintenance, security, nurse, barmen, lifeguards)special mention of Sofia she was awesome going above and beyond to tend to our needs. The operations manager, Angél(chef/omelette man),Jóse(kitchen supervisor),Maria(room attendants manager) not to be left out the amazing and talented animation team. The nightly shows were great the kids were intrigued and had lots of fun. Food was quite tasty and the options were good. I do like that there was variety. Even special area for infants meals. Christmas eve dinner was great but the highlight was the show and seeing how happy all the kids were when Santa arrived. There was a lot of activities for the kids. The hike to the light house was totally worth it. Great view. Keep in mind this resort isn't complete so I know when it is with all those amenities to come it'll be THE resort to be at. There were issues in the bathroom but I must say they were addressed promptly. Not only the staff were great but the guests were quite friendly. It really was a family setting like one big resort family. For sure we will be back!

Our 7 night stay at Dunes was fantastic. Upon arrival the warm and courteous welcome was quite fabulous. In particular, one of their bell boys, Renaldo, made us feel right at home. He ensured that my wife and I were comfortable and settled. One of our major concerns, from previous all-inclusive trips in the past, was the restricted menu that provided at the buffet. Dunes was so different. Their wide assortment and variety of salads, vegetables, beans, meats and drinks was quite fulfilling. The option of having your food prepared in front of you was welcomed as well. The courteous staff was ever so willing to serve you with a warm and pleasant smile every time. The nightly entertainment, outdoor dining, huge swimming pools and spacious compound, all fused together to make our trip a memorable one. The visible presence of security 24/7 made us feel so comfortable as well. Sweede & Olive
