Spent our 10th anniversary here, the hotel is nicely renovated and give the mediavel feeling. Restaurant is good with candle lit dinners. Not too many programs around but you can make a horse ride, walk the region. Nice, quiet place.

I recently stayed at the Hedervar Castle Hotel while cycling from Bratislava to Budapest. Service was superb. Rooms, most comfortable and well appointed. Weather was very hot and room had no a/c, but the fan was most adequate. Good air flow with windows open. Bath was excellent. Plenty of plush towels and all the usual amenities for a top rated... Hedervar is wonderfully off of any beaten path. We bicycled down from Bratislava on a VBT tour. The town has one small grocery store (closes at 5PM), one restaurant, and a fine baroque church that was built by the lady who lived in the castle. Our room had a window that looked into the chapel of the castle as well... More

We spent two nights at the Hedervary Castle on a VBT bike tour, and loved it. The main building dates to the 16th century, but a building has been on this site since the 12th century. Out of respect for the historic building, the owner has chosen not to add intrusive improvements, like air conditioning. The hotel was comfortable without... More

We stayed here for two nights while on a wonderful VBT bike tour. The castle has been beautifully renovated to recreate the feeling of what it must have been like to be the guest of the original count and countess who lived here. The service is truly refined; we were treated like lords and ladies.

This hotel needs to be set in the context of one fact: Hedervary Castle was built in the 16th century, is one of Hungary's most important ancient monuments and is subject to all of the very necessary and appropriate conservation restrictions. When you stay here you are staying in an exceptional castle which is being preserved, conserved and improved through... More

We had a lovely time staying in the castle. Lovely grounds and location. Could do with some improvement with food and presentaion, gym and spa facilities. Breakfast is ok, but get your diner elsewhere (not good value and you have to order by 8 and leave the restaurant by 9. Beautiful interior and nicely decorated rooms. Visit the spa in... More

I've stayed at hundreds of hotels all over the world. I've never stayed at a hotel where nobody speaks english. The only languages understood are hungarian and german. As a result the staff speaks slowly and quite loud - in german. Not helping.

We stayed in Castle Héderváry for 3 nights, and loved the accommodation, food, and charming service. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts simple, and dinners excellent. The staff were very pleasant. We would recommend the carriage ride.

Just back from a long weekend at this fabulous 16th century castle hotel. Just a few kilometers from the Danube river where you can use... More

“There are only 18 rooms and any one of them is going to be quiet. Some of them seem to have little shared sitting areas outside of the room. This was not designed to be a hotel so there are little extra quirky spaces that are open to everybody. The rooms are great but the open areas are better.”
