This place has more then I ever expected. They have splendid restaurant where you can enjoy superior meal with respect to local food and ingredients. The tartar is just a hit. Meals are served with all the interesting information that you are looking for. They have great hotel with design rooms that include antique furniture. Everything is clean and fresh. However, the hotel house is historical building with breathtaking history that you could learn within your visit. Breakfast is just amazing with the finger-licking curd cakes. They have "tailor maid" SPA where you can enjoy the best treatment for your body and mind. Moreover, here you can feel yourself welcomed, they know how to plan your vacation in the best way. The hotel is family friendly and there are perfect infrastructure for infants, including modern elevator. In our visit we was blessed to visit concert of one of the best guitarists in the North Europe. Definitely this is the "must-visit" and "must-return" place for me and my family.

The dinner we had here was really excellent. Perfectly cooked elk, foie gras, etc etc. An expansive beverage menu. Phenomenal beer ice cream. We loved everything.

The inn itself is very pretty, we stayed in the main house, and has sort of an offbeat vibe that is a little spooky and eclectic and luxe all at once. My one complaint is the mattress. Oh my god. I'm not sure if our room just had a dud, I'm guessing not, but it was shockingly uncomfortable. Like, we could actually feel the springs as we were going to sleep. But the rooms themselves are very unique and have beautiful views.

Stayed here for a weekend away with he girlfriend. It was a mere 35 mins from Riga Central Station to Valmiera, then another 20 mins in a taxi (!5 Lats) or you could walk if luggage isn't an issue..!!! The location is in a small village literally in the middle of nowhere. A fully restored muiza, the main building is a delight to walk around, with ornaments and traditional fire places adorning most rooms. It seems the ideal seting for a summer wedding, with an adjoining lake and gardens. The room was modern and clean. The restaurant was certainly a surprise with some excellent food on offer, and all included in our weekend price, except extra for the wine. Walking around the area is pleasant, but there isn't much to see, just beautiful countryside... The staff at the manor were pleasant and attentive to say the least. A morning swim followed by a sauna were an added bonus, plus the use of the full spa facilities, at an extra cost, but all well below the average prices to be paid back home. Above all a great place to spend a romantic quiet weekend away.

Stayed for two nights. Rather basic yet clean rooms in barn house. No mosquito nets on windows, no safety deposit box, no mini bar, no remote control for AC. Smallest TV I've seen in a hotel room on this continent this century.
Decent breakfast, free parking, hassle-free check in. Limited range of Anyah toiletries - a 'green' eco friendly choice.
On day two, there was a big Latvian wedding going on in a huge tent erected in front of barn house.
Loudspeakers, a few yards from our room, were spitting out a medley of local and European dance hits. Loud. Persistent. Until four in the morning.
At half past three in the night, a night shift receptionist quickly answered my call to briefly apologise for the noise and possible inconvenience caused but was, naturally, unable to offer us any room more quiet.
Morning after - another receptionist (or a shift manager, she did not wear a name tag) was not really a Miss Sunshine.
Instead of proactively (with a smile!) offering us complimentary cold towels / gift cards for our next possible stay / free late check out to help us to somehow recuperate from that sleepless night, she just told us calmly - there was no way to get a late check out to recover from the Festive Night newlyweds had had. According to her, the place was fully booked for the coming day.
On booking sites however, there were more than 10 rooms available in various categories so probably she misunderstood her room situation.
For a small additional amount of money (€ 16? 20?), they were more than happy to give us a late check out until 4 PM though. Which brings me to a (somewhat naive yet unpleasant) conclusion - they care so much more about money than their client's wellbeing. Probably, they can offer better service for big parties, individual guests do not seem to be very welcome here.

I was astonished how bad service was provided by receptionist (male, with massive airings-quite inappropriate appearance for 4 stars hotel). I booked my stay (double room) over booking.com, even confirmed it by credit card number. When I came to check in my self-this receptionist male was absolutely struggling with his system to check me in, after 30 min he gave me keys but told me that my apartment is located somewhere outside the main building (didn't show me where to go, even though, outside was very dark). There were 2 buildings outside, unfortunately, nothing was written where rooms were situated. After a while I found my apartment, but when I unlocked the door, I saw that nobody cleaned and tied the room up after previous stay, I had to go back for clean room.I got another key, but when I got there - it was twin room not double room what I ordered. Because it was 1 hour of my wasted time I didn't go back to that guy.
Generally speaking, it is hard to believe that in 4 stars hotel such a things can happen but even if that happened to me, nobody was kind enough to apologize.
Moreover, there was very very hot in the room - no air con, very noisy - You can hear everything next door when someone was using a toilet or talking. Outside dogs were barking all night long.
Talking about surroundings - it is nice and tidy environment around this hotel. Unfortunately, this hotel is located in the middle of nowhere - 25 km from closes town.

An absolute gem of a hotel in the depths of the Latvian countryside. Stay in the middle of the week as it is quieter - no parties, weddings, etc. Their website is very good at describing what you can expect from your stay and the photos represent reality rather than being stylised. The swimming pool and jaccuzi are good. Just watch your step, as it gets very slippery walking from the pool area to the saunas. Food was excellent for lunch and evening meals, however breakfasts were lousy in our opinion.
Dikli is the birthplace of the Latvian song festival, however there isn't much to look at in relation to this fact. The village church is quaint. Dikli palace building itself is interesting. The owners had saved a lot of old ornate stoves/fragments of stoves and restored them to full glory. Most are in working order. Simply beautiful!
It's about 30 to 40 minutes by car to the seaside. And about the same to the town of Valmiera, but in the opposite direction.
Go to escape the noise of the city life, relax, read, enjoy a swim (additional cost). Be prepared for terrible roads to get there though.
Customer service is outstanding! We felt pampered and very well looked after throughout the stay. Loved every minute of our stay!

An unusual place to stay with delightful period furniture, very ornate ceramic room heaters and pleasant grounds. Breakfast was good but not outstanding. Rooms varied in size and were generally quite large – those to the rear overlooked a small lake while those at the front overlooked gardens and lawns. Some people said they were in “attic-style” rooms that had limited outlook because windows were small and high.

Of considerable concern was the layout of the bathrooms with a shower over the bath – the bath tubs have been replaced with very high modern ones and there is a strong risk of slipping when trying to step over the rim of the tub after showering. One of our party did slip and fall, causing serious injury.

The "Palace" is located amidst a lovely garden. The public areas are well kept in the original glamour. The interior of the guest floors were redesigned to accommodate guest rooms. Obviously, considering the low rise building, several rooms are located just below the roof without accessible windows, views, inappropriate light. The bathroom was furnished with a very high bath tub difficult to access, slippery bathtub floor and a grip difficult to reach. Apart from some unidentified bugs on the carpet, the room was clean. My vegetarian pre-ordered main course was extremely poor. A day visit for afternoon coffee is fully sufficient.

Me and my husband got a chance to stay at Dikli Palace Hotel as present. We had spa- massages for both of us-it was perfect, we enjoyed very much. The room was nothing special and looked like they need some improvements, reconstruction- wallpapers was coming off in some parts. Towels looked like they have been used from opening. Dinner was the worst- my husband had hair in his dish and food was bad, but beer was very good :) breakfast was very good, wide choise of food- pancakes, eggs, sausages, cakes, vegetable, etc
