Myself and 3 friends booked to stay here last Friday as a reunion trip and our 1st hotel break together in 2years. Unfortunately the night before, 1 of the girls was taken to hospital. We called the hotel the morning of our stay and were told there was nothing they could do for us as it was outside the 24hr policy however we had read on site that each cancellation was to be dealt with individually. They advised us to come and see if anything could be done when we got there. The 3 of us arrived to a busy reception and were dealing with a man. There was also a female staff member behind the desk. We explained the situation etc and were enquiring about a triple room/ double and a single or maybe something could be done about the 280e charge per room. Through masks and perspex screens it was very difficult to communicate and the female staff member kept coming over and rudely shutting down any ideas we had. We were told there were no triple rooms available but we had found one available online for 100e cheaper than we would be paying for the 2 doubles. We asked politely why we couldn't swap to this and were again rudely told it was "unavailable ".....we had to quiz her for a reason etc and in the end were told "maintenance " although the room wa still available for booking on the website. She agreed to remove the 40e dinner charge from the room but we all agreed the initial experience of front of house was a real put off and with no 4th person eating dinner it was a very small gesture. No effort was made and we were spoken to very rudely. The tone used was completely unacceptable towards paying guests. Our rooms were on the lower ground floor and we had no reception while in our rooms and the tv wasn't working. Staff on the terrace and in the restaurant were amazing and the food was delicious. We were given a bottle if prosecco which we were told was for our table and presumed then that maybe the reception had organised it. However our friend informed us the following day it was from her...never a mention. A polite/helpful greeting at reception would have made all the difference regardless of being able to accommodate a change for us or not...the attitude and dismissive nature we were dealt with has put us all off. Would not recommend based on this.

I wish I could give this 5 stars but the food/ thermal spa were so disappointing . The hotel has 4 places you can eat . The ivy been the expensive option so I will say we didn’t eat there but we did eat in the bar and the terrace . Keeping in mind it was only back opened i will say they were very well staffed , but so many staff didn’t know what they were doing and a few different plates were put on our table that wasn’t ours . Very disorganised and everyone seemed to have to go up to the bar area to get the cheque .. As for the food we both ordered the club sandwich for €15.95 and they came out on petite baguette that you’d give a child with ‘club’ ingredients in it . One piece of chicken altogether if you were lucky . The biggest rip off ever and it didn’t state that it was not a sandwich !! Also the chicken wings came out with a tiny bit of sauce so was just plain (not very appetising looking ) so disappointing on every level and so expensive . The staff were really friendly though and I do feel it was more management that couldn’t organise it then staff themselves . We didn’t order a treatment but paid €20 each for the thermal spa & only 2 things were working . The steam room and tropical shower . Biggest waste of money and we left after 40mins ( you can stay 2 hours !) The room was spotless and all staff were friendly .. due to the big lockdown I still gave 4 stars but so nearly was 3 and only for the friendliness of the staff it would have been

From the moment we arrived any staff member we encountered were so friendly, from reception to the terrace bar, the spa to the sadlier bar. Everyone was so attentive, friendly and interacted with guests. Luke was our main server and he is an asset to this hotel, so lovely. The room was spotless, great amenities in the room . Highly recommend and definitely be back.
