What an absolutely lovely hotel, one of the best I'v ever stayed in. It's well located just 5 mins along harbour to town centre. Every about this hotel is top class. Our suite had a large and beautifully furnished living room, a lovely bedroom and a lovely bathroom. The hotel also serves as a very good restaurant. Only negative would be that it's located just inside the no parking zone so you need to leave car a bit away from the hotel - not too far, maybe 50m or so (staff will help you bring bags from car). Don't even hesitate for 1 second though - I can guarantee most people will love this hotel.
Villa Apolon is an elegant and stylish small hotel right on the quayside where large yachts and small cruising vessels anchor so there is always something of interest to see. The Villa is tastefully furnished in a classical style and the building has an interesting history. Staff are friendly and helpful. Its only a few minutes walk to many restaurants and cafes. Stari Grad is a wonderful place to stay if you want somewhere less busy than Hvar town and it only takes 30-40 mins on the bus to get to Hvar town. There are nice walks round the coast and a small concrete beach with swimming access just 5 mins walk.
Considering that Stari Grad is a good choice of site for exploring touristic possibilities on the Island of Hvar, Villa Apolon offers excellent accommodations and a great and friendly service from their team (Goran was very helpful, from the beginning, with ferries timetables and other pieces of information!). Their wine cave and restaurant are a plus... At the time of the year we went, with lower night temperatures and a nice breeze, the absence of air conditioning didn't bother at all!
Heritage Villa Apolon is perfectly situated on the promenade in Stari Grad. It is an easy walk to restaurants and shops. But why go anywhere? The terraces at the hotel make a perfect spot to sit, have a coffee or cocktail and watch the boats and people go past. The building is historic and the recent remodel added only comfort to the rooms while still leaving the character of the building. Our room was described as a deluxe studio suite and it certainly was deluxe. We had plenty of room with a large double bed and, separated off, two twins along with a very large living room area. The bed was good size and very comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size. The only negative about the room is that you could hear other doors in the hotel opening and shutting. There is a comfortably laid out common room on the 2nd floor in the hotel. It also has beautiful view of the harbor. Breakfast is served on the terrace or in the dining room. The service is efficient and very helpful. After breakfast if you tire of watching the boats go past you can always take a short walk to the beach. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else while one Hvar.…
We have just completed a two night stay at the Apolon. The setting is idyllic in Stari-Grad. The terrace for breakfast and dinner, delightful. We thought the accommodations to be reasonably priced and the service good. There are many options to enjoy Hvar island from here without the party of Hvar Town. I would totally recommend the Apolon.
