Villa Apolon is lovely hotel though being on the edge of town the bar and restaurant were under used. The restaurant terrace overlooks the sea. Really beautiful setting. Staff very helpful and lovely. The facilities are let down by breakfast - not enough choice. Fresh fruit was good but only cornflakes, no muesli. Then it is just bread or croissant and the cooked breakfast is basically an omelette. Also the coffees were average. Though nicely presented. in a great setting outdoors please upgrade breakfast - give your guests the breakfast menu to choose from instead of just reciting it. If breakfast improved then we would give this lovely hotel a 5 star rating. Perhaps they need to promote themselves a bit more to get restaurant and bar business. They had a bar and restaurant inside but only saw it being used twice in a 3 day stay. We chose to stay in Stari Grad not Hvar due to hotel shortages but were so pleased we did. Hvar is glitzier and noisier but without authenticity. Stari Grad is a lovely town on the sea with lots of local people enjoying the life there and croatian tourists. Great choice of bars and restaurants with excellent food. We hired bikes for a day and cycled across the plain of vineyards watching grapes being picked by all the families who owned the plots. Also we swam at the town beach round by the Ermitage restaurant and did a bit of hiking. Recommend the town highly.

We chose to stay in Stari Grad during our stay in Hvar as it was quieter and more relaxed than Hvar Town. We are so pleased we chose the Apolon. A friendly and welcoming small hotel with spacious rooms. Really well located, a few minutes walk to some lovely restaurants, bus stop to Hvar at the end of the road and close to the ferry port. Everything was just great, Mia was so helpful, friendly and great fun too. We can really recommend the Apolon.

My family and I loved the location and ambience of this lovely, elegant hotel. We had breakfast (great fruit!) overlooking all the boat activity of the harbor, and enjoyed walking to all the main activities in Stari Grad. The rooms were large and quiet, and the bathrooms recently renovated. A great experience—the staff were very kind and helpful. Highly recommend.

After 5 days sailing around the Croatians Island- what a nice change to check into for a night. Located in Star Grad, Hvar- our boat was directly across the Hotel. Beautiful big air conditioned rooms overlooking the yachts. Great staff & owner. We ate dinner there & breakfast. Hated to leave & get back on the boat 😞

We stayed overnight from our boat in the harbor. What a nice respite from sleeping on a boat with limited ac during a heat wave. From the moment we arrived till departure all our expectations were met and over delivered. The owner is a hand on operator with true hospitality in his veins. We ate both dinner and breakfast which were both fantastic. Ac was powerful and the family room slept all 5 of us!!!
