Having read some reviews from May my sister and I were worried we had made a mistake booking. However, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect week of relaxation!
Journey: an uneventful 3 hour flight whizzed through arrivals and coach took an hour or so to get us to hotel. The return journey was same again, however, the airport shops/restaurants are shockingly expensive!
Hotel: pleasant staff, v clean (in fact you won't walk more than a few feet without seeing someone cleaning or gardening!). There is a small shop for beach items and souvenirs in the hotel reception and a supermarket opposite for basics and snacks. Rooms are a good size with a small fridge, safe and hair dryer. We had a room cleaned daily to a high standard. Fantastic location with pool and beach within a minute of walking outside! Pool clean and was a perfect temp (weather was 30 degrees + everyday)
Location: do not come here if you want any type of entertainment outside of the hotel. There's a beach bar next door. We took a cab Primorsko (90 lev) which had a few shops and a beach but we were underwhelmed.
Sunbeds; we did not have an issue with sunbeds but as early risers we were usually up and out around 8/9am. The hotel rule is if you leave towels etc on sunbeds before 9:30am they will be removed and taken to reception. These checks are random but we saw these removals several times in our weeks stay.
Entertainment: kids entertainment inc a disco Mon - Sat but adult entertainment was pretty bad with no entertainment on a Sunday. Darts/Pétanque/aquafit and other games were on most days.
Food: the food choice was good we found plenty we liked each day with fresh bread, fruit and salad to accompany your meal. Beer/water/wine/hot drinks and soft drinks are on tap and again the restaurant is clean with several staff clearing tables. We loved the beach bar and its hot snacks/cakes and ice cream which runs from 10am to 6pm. We weren't keen on the cocktails but that's personal choice. We did, however, enjoy the slushy drinks with vodka added!! The Lobby Bar seemed targeted more to those who want to pay for premium drinks.
All in all if you want to switch off and relax this is the place to go :)

Got back today what can I say about this holiday let’s start with the positives Room was very spacious and we had a glorious view from balcony Pool was crystal clear and plenty of sunbeds to chose from Daily activities were great Food from the pool bar was brilliant and drinks were refreshing and ice cream was spot on The animation team were brilliant especially gabbi she made the holiday 10 x better The TUI suneo song was amazing and u could join in with gabi and the rest of them
Cons The waiters are ignorant can’t speak a word of English and don’t smile The chefs stare at you like you shouldn’t be there The food was disgusting for breakfast and lunch and wouldn’t feed it the pigs flys sitting in the beans and residents staring you down Entertainment was great on the night but cut off at 10 wich is no fault of the animation entertainment team The receptionist woman was rude and decides to charge you for a soiled towel that was already ruined Cleaners clean the room but sweep the dust under the bed We had a great holiday and it’s a real shame because we probably most likely won’t be returning but gabi is a excellent entertainer and she makes your experience great Also would like to point out that my mom asked for a paper towel or something to wipe the seats because they were wet and the Barman threw a cloth at her and tutted I also got told at reception and this was the exact words of the woman behind the reception (small with glasses) I wouldn’t charge u for the dirty towel but my boss will go mad if she sees it I love TUI but something needs to be done about this the hotel suffer with lack of basic hygiene like for example who decided twisting a piece of toast in a toaster machine with metal tongues was s good idea ??? Just got back after a week in the sun had room 231 which was massive but at the side of the hotel side sea view and got the afternoon sunshine room lovely bed comfy extra blankets in the wardrobe bathroom massive all lovely and clean our cleaning lady was a star wanted to bring her home with me. Aircon ok but won’t go below 20 we even called them as the first night it went to 16 they didn’t believe us said no no 20 minimum ! We took usb fans so used these as additional at night.
There were a lot of small children and with the TUI entertainment ‘you,me one big family’ loud music and lack of umbrellas/sun-bed wars did drive us from the pool to the beach the sea is choppy lots of waves and gives you a workout trying to swim or even stand some small jelly fish but they didn’t bother us at all plenty of sun beds and umbrellas on the beach and we loved it easy walk back up to the bar if you wanted but no beach bar.
Things to improve - food hygiene… food for an all inclusive was good but there are no covers on anything they need hot plates that work and refrigerated units for salads and desserts the warm salad put me off on day one and with the flies everywhere someone is going to get ill cherries on the dessert table must of had 20 flies in them and not a zapper in sight not good enough sort it out
Cleaners work there socks off the place is really clean reception staff lovely TUI reps and team great bar staff really good we all joked that the lifeguard has the easiest job on site sits under a tree all day doesn’t enforce any of the rules if you ask him anything it’s a no !
Entertainment come on TUI up the budget two external acts all week just the three entertainment team the rest of the time who do there best but times have moved on from karaoke thank you
Did we have a good holiday absolutely would we return probably not it is very isolated and with a poor entertainments programme I’d go somewhere with a bit more going on and a shorter commute time this place is a good hour and be warned Bougas airport leaving is a nightmare long ques hit multiple security checks that alone would put me off going back to Bulgaria !
Don’t be put off if you’ve booked enjoy the beautiful coastline if you don’t have children head to the beach and avoid the salads and flies !

Just come back from a fantastic stay at Serenity Bay. Hotel very clean, it is cleaned constantly. Rooms cleaned everyday and cleaners are always around making sure it is spotless. Rooms are big and if you chose the sea view it is spectacular. Food is great, good choice for breakfast, lunch and evening meal and a great selection everyday at the pool bar. Drinks are great too with a good choice and you can pay for branded which are not expensive. Staff are very friendly at the pool bar too. If you put your towels on the sun beds early and then disappear they will be cleared for those wanting a sunbed and want to stay. Just be mindful. There are plenty of sun beds around the pool and on the beach which the hotel is right next to. Now the best part - the entertainment. There are plenty of daily activities which you can choose to take part in or not. If you do they are great fun and the team, Gabby, Tomi, Kris, Daisy and Annie (sorry if any of those are wrong!) are a credit to the hotel. They work very hard to keep everyone entertained and make it a fun holiday. You definitely made ours. There’s a kids club during the day and a kiddies disco on the night before the shows for the adults. The kids disco is for half an hour and they do a really good job of using up the last bit of energy the kids have!! Adults can get involved in the entertainment after the kids disco or just sit back and enjoy the show. This was the second time at this hotel for some of us and did not disappoint. Can’t knock the hotel at all, ticked all the boxes for a holiday. Good price, good food, large clean room, plenty of sun beds round the pool and on the beach the pool area does fill up quiet quickly but can only put towels out from 9 am, they have been removing towels off beds. Animation team, bar teams, reception and restaurant staff all friendly and helpful. Drinks only local really not branded on all inclusive but plenty flowing along with help yourself beer and wine. Food in restaurants very good choice defo something for everyone, sometimes warm not piping hot but good all round choice. Small criticism for restaurant and I mean small, could do with extra coffee machine and toaster always a queue for this items which is slight inconvenience only. Soup cauldrons need to be switched on as soup does seem to go colder the later you go in. Pool bar is open for food also and is very popular suppling till 6pm along with icecream. Around the area is a few things to see but need to explore yourself albeit not a lot but interesting enough. There is no alacarte restaurant now even though tui offer it in the brouchre looks like a recent change. Towels are available at the reception for the pool area 20 lev deposit each towel no charge to cage and refresh them, deposit back once handed in. On the whole worth the trip you shouldn’t be disappointed we aren’t (still here)

Pros. large clean and tidy bedroom reception and lobby areas very clean and tidy Entertainment staff were lovely not too pushy but tried there best to get people involved Coffee machine in lobby bar was good Pool bar food was ok at the start of our holiday better than the restaurant if I’m honest Cons. Had to make your own bed on arrival Receptionist was quite rude on arrival looked at us as though we shouldn’t be there Food was awful either not cooked properly or just slop we struggled to eat in the hotel and we aren’t fussy eaters Drinks are vile the spirits are so watered down you can’t taste them the soft drinks are unbranded and taste disgusting Entertainment is poor all finished by 10 and really poor (not blaming the team ) Restaurant staff aren’t all dressed in uniform some wearing coats or large hoodies I just think it looks bad Infact most staff don’t wear uniform so you don’t really know who’s staff and who isn’t The pool area was dirty the floors were not cleaned the whole time I was there the sunbeds are so uncomfortable no cushions (I’ve since found out they were removed just before I arrived) the pool looks ok in the daytime but when it’s empty at night it’s very dirty missing tiles things floating around in it again never saw anyone cleaning or checking the pool Pool bar food went downhill towards the end of our holiday most days was cold and not as much choice Flies were a huge problem here they were literally everywhere crawling over the food and in the drink machine pipes they were everywhere you couldn’t sit in peace anywhere the place was overrun spoke to rep who admitted there was a problem tried telling me it was because where the hotel was situated and had people spraying I didn’t witness this Everything had closed down around the hotel except two souvenir shops but unfortunately they didn’t sell drinks or snacks which we were desperate for as the hotel food was inedible most of the time the bus to Tsarevo had also stopped running the day after we arrived On our last day weather was bad but absolutely nothing to do we spent the day in our room as it was animation teams day off so boring at this hotel The icing on the cake was when we checked out they did a room inspection never in my life has this happened to me luckily for us we didn’t get any fines but other people did for petty things like dirty towels or sheets !!! This hotel has put me off Bulgaria I will never visit again it was the worst holiday I have ever been on

We are happy that you enjoyed some aspects of your stay like the rooms, the lobby area and for recognizing our hardworking entertainment staff. In Bulgaria the weather is still hot, and for that we are still stocking the beds with summer bedding. In every room in the wardrobe there are a duvet, anytime the chambermaid can put the duvet to envelope sheet to make the guests more comfortable and warm. About the flies last week, the weather changes and for that reason were noticed some flies in the hotel. An external company made a special disinfection in the hotel, also the hotel staff was cleaning and disinfection before and after every meal. The main cleaning of all common areas and pool area is doing twice per day early in the mornings and late in the evenings. Regarding the food and drinks we try to offer a wide variety of meals, but is not possible to satisfy all tastes. But we are still happy that you enjoyed our food at the snack bar. Pros: Room was spacious (we had a family room for two people) the view was great of the sea and clean. The pool was lovely, allowed inflatables and balls. There was plenty of sunbeds as well available mainly on the beach. The TUI entertainment people were fantastic, always friendly and wanted to make people have a great time especially Gabbi she was fantastic!
Cons: The food was absolutely disgusting, for a 4 star hotel I was absolutely shocked. The breakfast was okay, had English breakfast and either waffles or pancakes which were okay. The pancakes were lovely but the waffles were hard and cold. The butter was also disgusting, smelt like cottage cheese I wouldn’t even risk eating it. But I know others that did and complained about how nasty it tasted. The lunch in the main restaurant was awful, the pool bar food had pizzas, chips, burgers, hotdogs etc and what so much better than the restaurant. The dinner was the worst, it was like slop. Not much variety at all and every time there was chicken it was always without fail pink! Undercooked meat! Whatever they was putting in the food really upset mine and my partners stomach, it was on Facebook a few weeks before arriving that there was quite a large group of people suffering with d&v (diarrhoea and vomiting) but just before arriving people were saying it was gone. I’m not going to go into detail but the stomach pains we got from some of the food was unbelievable. There were flies everywhere, all over the restaurant touching the food, all around you near the pool and were even worse near the pool bar! It was disgusting, you spent more time wafting them away than doing anything else. The waiters do not talk to you at all in the restaurant, they don’t smile or anything. I don’t mind if they don’t want to talk it’s not that big of a deal however not even smiling at people when they’re smiling at them I find quite rude. The sunbeds, whilst there were loads available on the beach, there wasn’t many available around the pool and all the sunbeds were absolutely uncomfortable. People were buying lilos to lie on the sunbed with just so it didn’t hurt. The lack of variety in cocktails was also quite hard, I’m a cocktail person and the choices were basic and didn’t taste that great. Even when I asked for a Bacardi and coke as I saw the bottle of Bacardi behind the lady at the bar she poured some other white rum that tasted absolutely vile! At night if you wanted to watch the entertainment you will find it quite hard to get a seat as there wasn’t many available depending on the time you went down.
Whilst we were there the weather was great and some of the staff were great. The pool and sea was a lovely temp. I am not a snobby person either and I don’t usually write reviews on things but me and my partner said that for a hotel that is rated 4 star and these are the conditions it’s in is diabolical. There was plenty of people saying the exact same as us around the hotel so I’m glad it wasn’t just us.

Fantastic holiday! Just spent 10 days here and loved every minute of it. The hotel is spotlessly clean and housekeeping left the rooms emaculate. We had a sea view room and was so much more room than 2 people need (which isn't a complaint). Hotel is on a beautiful beach with a dedicated area for the hotel. We booked towards the end of June and could clearly see how much it picks up from the start of our holiday to the end. Pool area got busy towards the end of our holiday so getting up at a good time is advisable to get a lounger. Staff do remove towels if they have been left longer than an hour in the morning. Good selection of food served at all meal times but this is where my one con is all be it a minor one. The food is on a one week rota, so if you're staying for longer than a week the meals repeat themselves. All in all, brilliant hotel and would definitely consider returning.

We have been in different places for holidays and I must say that this is one of the best among them. The rooms are big with an en suite and there is a living room that it has two single beds for the kids with a separate toilet. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
The beach is just few steps in front of the hotel.
But the 5 stars are going to the food. If you are on diet this is not the place for you as the food is GREAT and never stops.
If you have kids and want to relax this is the place to be.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday at the TUI Suneo Serenity Bay Hotel. I cannot speak more highly of this lovely hotel. From the shuttle service on arrival to the shuttle on our return and everything in between was exactly what myself and my wife would have wished for. Yes, the drive from the airport to the hotel was about 1hr and 20 mins, but at least it meant we were able to see a little more of the Bourgas region.
The room was wonderful. We had a family room even though there was only two of us, but we knew for the tiny increase in price we would get a bigger room. It was basically a large bedroom, with a separate large lounge with two sofa bed settees. Two TVs, A bathroom and a second toilet, lovely balcony with sea and pool view from 4th floor. The hotel was very clean throughout, although the communal toilets in the main hotel lounge and bar areas were the only slight disappointment. Dark, no locks on two of the doors, toilet seat broken for several days. Having said that, when we reported a fault with the shower in our room to the cleaner, she reported it immediately and was fixed by the time we returned from breakfast. The all-inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner were wide ranging, varied and of very high quality. I don’t know which hotel some of the reviewers criticising the food went to, but it couldn’t have been Serenity Bay! Unfortunately, my wife and I have both put on a little more weight! The Pool Bar was excellent. Appropriate range of good quality snacks and hot food at any time along with the full compliment of the all-inclusive drinks. The beach was fantastic and clean, and always plenty of sunbeds (although we did go just after the school holidays). Similarly with the large hotel swimming pool. Evening entertainment is held by the pool bar and the TUI entertainment staff did a great job. All the hotel staff were very friendly, although the language naturally limits conversations sometimes. The hotel is isolated in terms of shops or bars/restaurants. I highly recommend a 25 minute stroll along the seafront to the local town of Tsarevo as a change and to use up some of the excess calories. All in all, we had a lovely week at the hotel and highly recommend it. Thank You Serenity Bay
