Cabin looked as though it hadn't seen a hoover in weeks. Lots of dry grass cuttings over the floor. Shower wouldn't turn off, had to leave it running, dry off, get dressed and seek help via reception to get it looked at. Cobwebs on the ceiling and light fittings. Dirt encrusted TV remote control. Bed had a long hair in... More

Second stay at Redlands Guest House, both times for an event at the Hilton Metropole. Yvonne is lovely and very accommodating. Cooks a killer of full english breakfast! Nothing was too much for her and she is always around to help when needed. People expect hotel service (i.e.. front desk welcome) but this is a family ran business which gives... More

Welcome? We went to main property door and tried to enter this way pressing buzzer. A lady appeared at side gate and didn't really communicate that we should enter via a side entrance. It all felt a bit unorganised. Rooms - Average at best. Badly finished and dirty in places and a bit shabby. See photos. Rooms are separate to... More

We booked based on the location near to the NEC. The Taxi ride to the NEC using a2b was an average of £6 and takes less than 5 minutes to get from the guest house to the NEC main entrance. Breakfast is a full English cooked fresh as you arrive in the breakfast hall. There is a good selection of... More

I booked this B&B September 2015 as the listing mentioned how close it was to the NEC and also touted shuttle service to the airport and NEC. When I re-checked reviews in January and February 2016, there were a few negative reviews about lack of shuttle service in December. Since there was nothing negative later than that, I assumed the... Other reviews have covered most of the salient points, I would just emphasise that the owners are very helpful and the facilities perfectly adequate for a short stay with a huge English breakfast. A bit quaint and unusual but good value for money but clearly a B&B operation with few frills. I found the chalet rooms perfectly clean and comfortable... More

Lets start with positive note, the breakfast was amazing ,be it only served till 8.30 am in the morning!!. Chalets quaint in lovely setting .However , shower very small and not easy to regulate, along with mould on sealant . No non slip mat either, a very scary experience. Also told couldn't alter heating in bathroom as it would knock out... More

Booked this guest house with another couple as the reviews were excellent. We just stayed for one night before flying off from Birmingham airport for a sunny holiday break before Xmas. When we arrived the chalets were cold and felt damp. When we asked about heating we were told "it's not cold" The rooms and bathrooms were very basic and... More

If you want a very personal, non-corporate experience then this is for you. As the very mixed reviews highlight, this is not a slickly run commercial enterprise; it's a lovely couple running a chalet-style B & B from their own home. There are both positive and negatives to this, but it's certainly representative of great value for an NEC/Airport lodging.... More

This was our second visit to The Redlands B & B, which probably says it all really! Another lovely stay after a long day at an exhibition at the NEC. Yvonne, the owner is lovely and so helpful, and she recommended a lovely place for a meal during the evening called The Boat Inn. The room (one of the log... More
