Stayed one night in June 2016, very convenient location, clean annex style purpose built bedrooms at the back of the pub. Very clean and good size room, TV could've been a bit bigger but we weren't in the room much except to sleep so hardly a problem. Paul the landlord was very friendly and helpful - the pub was great... More

Superb dinner served in cosy and friendly surroundings. After coffee headed for a beautifully prepared room and a sound nights sleep. I was one of a party of 11 and all were impressed with the service and quality of the food. No complaints - just compliments.

Clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation with the most obliging and welcoming staff. I would recomment The Duke of York to anybody. Nothing was too much trouble and Hayley and Paul went way beyond the call of duty. Exceptional food in the restaurant at reasonable prices and the breakfast was well organised and well-cooked. All the staff were friendly and helpful... More

We stayed here for 1 night and ate in the restaurant the food was excellent and the pub was very friendly made us feel very welcome. The rooms had everything you would expect and were comfortable, there was a large car park and a lovely view of the village church while having breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was very good... Have enjoyed Sunday lunches at the carvery. The food was plentiful and tasty and the hosts were very friendly. Bit of a journey to get there, along very tiny country lanes or would have been excellent rating.

We stayed for 1 night on route back from dropping one of the kids off at uni. Really friendly, great pub food and beer, good room. Nice atmosphere in pub - somehow it felt likes pubs used to and should do!

From the moment we arrived at the Duke of York, to the minute we checked out, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. This is an inn and pub in the centre of the sleepy Somerset village of Shepton Beauchamp, the closest town being Ilminster, about 10 minutes away in the car. We stayed for two nights, had two... We stayed for two nights and located the Duke of York through TA. It is located in the charming village of Shepton Beauchamp, not too far from Ilminster and within easy travelling distance of the likes of Lyme Regis and Weymouth. It is very much a locals pub and there was a good atmosphere with all the usual banter from... More
