We visited in December for a Christmas meal with a large group. The food was beautiful, however spoiled by the unbelievable mismanaged staff. The staff were stood around not knowing what to do. I had to go looking for a knife and butter and eventually a member of staff brought them to me. Tea and coffee were brought out a...

A value for money inn with decent bedrooms and facilities, let down slightly by the creaky floorboards, which often sounded like someone was coming into the room, and a poor shower. Check in was easy, the bar was very pleasant and there was a good carvery available. Breakfast was a mix of buffet cereals/fruit and a choice of freshly cooked...

Very reasonably priced hotel bang on the Cleveland Way walking route. Arrived after a long days walk from Great Broughton ready for a meal and a well earned pint. The food was good walkers fayre and the beer good. The room was spacious, clean and quiet and the staff friendly and polite. Would stay again if passing.

Lovely clean pub/restaurant. The staff are always polite & helpful & the food is fantastic. We come here a lot mainly because the prices are great & it's a good friendly atmosphere here. Highly recommended. There is a small outside play area for the kids which keeps them occupied & there is an outdoor seating area which is great in...

As a weekend treat, my partner and I decided to go to Whitby as neither of us had been there before. I looked on the internet and found Whitby booked out so booked in here as it was relatively local and the town of Guisborough sounded nice. After an afternoon in Whitby we drove to the Fox and Hounds which...

We read other peoples reviews and decided to give this place a go. It was dated but at the end of the day it is clean friendly and fairly priced. The food in the restaurant was very good indeed and i would go there again with no hesitation.

I last stayed here two years ago and not much has changed. The banister rail up to the first floor wobbled then, and it still wobbles now. Is it clean, but just cries out for a makeover from top to bottom. The beers are okay and the food is about average. In summary if you can't find anywhere else you...

Called in for lunchtime carvery at £5.99 per person which proved to be good value for money. Choice of two meats, Yorkshire puddings and a variety of vegetables. A range of other meals, including vegetarian options, are on the menu but prices on the expensive side compared to other pubs in the area. The staff were pleasant and friendly but...
