We (mum, husband and me) called in here for Sunday lunch about six months ago and have made it our regular Sunday outing ever since (probably being 5 Sundays out of 6). The food is absolutely superb both in quality and quantity, and we have always found the service to be excellent - thank you Stephanie. Reasonably priced too. We... More

We had a 3 night stay and really enjoyed the ambiance, the patio area and gardens were a delight. Staff very friendly and helpful. BUT they do need to address some issues with the food as vegetables are virtually nonexistant unless you pay an extra £3.00 for a small dish of mainly carrots, this is not acceptable and when roast... Thank you for your comments which we have taken on board regarding your vegetables. We serve 3 types of vegetables with the Roast Beef on Sundays , Carrots , Our own garden grown courgettes and Cabbage. We have spoken to the kitchen team who will be rectifying any further problems . More

There were 6 of us having lunch the other day at the Roman Camp. Two of us had goats cheese tart, salad and potatoes. Cost £12 plus. The tart was a small thin slice and a bit over cooked. Two others had chicken breast with dauphinoise potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables, which turned out to be slithers of peppers. Again this... More

As we were staying close by we called in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find a very warm welcome and ordered lunch from an extensive menu and our food arrived very fresh and well presented. We were asked if everything was to our liking and they couldn't have been better. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

We were out for a drive and had decided to have a pub lunch. We stopped at The Roman Camp Inn. After requesting a menu, we were asked for card details! We sat in the bar and ordered two of the meals from the five listed under “Roman Camp Favourites”. Neither of the drinks that we had was good and... More

We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the experience of the Roman Camp Inn. Customers who sit and enjoy our garden whilst the weather is nice are requested to leave their card in a lockable drawer if they wish to run a tab outside. Not inside the building There was a Manager on duty who would of been... More

I found this to be good experience. It was easy to get a table....silly season coming to an end; school summer holidays finishing. The food was of good quality and well presented. The only thing I would suggest is to ask for more sauce, gravy or cream if you like your food not so dry, its all about preference. The... More

Had dinner here on a Sunday evening. Great to have full menu not just Sunday roast. We could not get a table in the restaurant as we left booking until last minute but that was fine as there was a nice area just outside the restaurant where we were are away from the bar, although the bar area still looked... I am a carer for a young adult in a wheelchair, we go away every 3-4 weeks and when trying to find somewhere new, its difficult to know if the place is truly accessible and they haven't just added hand rails to the bathroom and then they can call it that!! Roman Camp Inn is not that!!! This place is... More

While in on a weekend camping trip; we were looking for somewhere to eat. We found the Roman Camp Inn (28-8-2016) and asked if they had any tables at 5.15pm. All the restaurant tables were reserved but rather than send us away they gave us a table which was free until 7.30pm. The food was delicious. The children had handmade... More

Alice was very helpful with our booking and all our little queries. The cost of the standard room we found a little high for the size of room compared to the cost of the upstairs bigger rooms Also we could here the next room in there bathroom in the night. The food was very enjoyable especially the poached haddock at... More
