Great to see that the present landlord and landlady have really turned this business around since the previous owners left and developed a well run and inviting establishment. The food is excellent and the ambience terrific. Well worth a visit.

Such a beautiful building, cosy and welcoming. We had a wonderful meal during which we enjoyed live music. Helen and Eric were warm and friendly, we very much felt at home. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and superbly cooked. I most definitely would visit again.

What a wonderful place. I went here for a Sunday Lunch and, despite never having been here before, received a very warm welcome, almost as if I was an old friend. Architecturally, this is an ancient building with references to circa 1614. The food was excellent and I was tempted into three courses when I would usually settle for two....

Six of us booked for Sunday lunch last week. The dining room is fabulous, service exactly right, neither rushed nor too long between courses, waiter very helpful - and good sense of humour! We all had three courses and the food was excellent, all of a very high standard. Lovely surroundings for a special occasion or just a really good...

We were looking for a weekend away with a trip to Canterbury. I found this beautiful 15th century Hotel. I cannot recommend this enough. The staff greeted us by opening the door on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel was so interesting with a lot of history. The rooms were so delightful, each one very different and big...

Beautiful place and lovely hosts. We stayed for one night in the Richmond room, which was full of charm and character but with all mod cons. Dinner in the restaurant was superb and we made the most of the late September sunshine and had our delicious breakfast served outside. We were really impressed with the welcome and service we received...

After visiting several venues in the area looking for somewhere to get married, we decided upon the newly re-opened Abbot's Fireside. From the moment we booked the, Helen listened to what we wanted and created a tailor made package for us. I stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding and enjoyed a lovely breakfast before our girls and...
