Six of us booked for Sunday lunch last week. The dining room is fabulous, service exactly right, neither rushed nor too long between courses, waiter very helpful - and good sense of humour! We all had three courses and the food was excellent, all of a very high standard. Lovely surroundings for a special occasion or just a really good... More

We were looking for a weekend away with a trip to Canterbury. I found this beautiful 15th century Hotel. I cannot recommend this enough. The staff greeted us by opening the door on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel was so interesting with a lot of history. The rooms were so delightful, each one very different and big... More

Beautiful place and lovely hosts. We stayed for one night in the Richmond room, which was full of charm and character but with all mod cons. Dinner in the restaurant was superb and we made the most of the late September sunshine and had our delicious breakfast served outside. We were really impressed with the welcome and service we received... More

My son in law and I stayed here for a night, and wow what a lovely surprise. Greeted very warmly as soon as we walked in by a very pleasant Lady. We were then shown to the quaintest room's we have ever stayed in. Had a meal there later in the evening, not only did the Chef cook our steaks... More

Stayed one night only on a B & B basis, on family business. Very impressed with the room "Hayes". Bed very comfortable. (Quirky floor levels)The breakfast was ideal. Loved the entire interior. Great place to stay. Enjoyed every minute. Thanks.

The building is beautiful, the potential is great - nice people, good food, comfortable bed... but on a busy evening the flaws showed. Why were there no extra staff to help ? - long waits for food and signs of standards slipping, with no apparent apology to the French guests gulping down their late food to rush to the Shuttle.
