When we arrived the pub was packed being Sunday afternoon. The room is huge and as the weather took a turn for the worse and really cold the heating was adequate. Two nights here meant that we could unwind a little before our long flights to Australia. The breakfast was typically English, and as much as you wanted all cooked... More

Lovely room, really spacious, food was great, staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble, the whole ethos of this establishment was to make life easier for you if they could. We were only there for two nights and out for most of the time but still managed to be told twice 'all you have to do is ask'... More

I had heard good things about this pub so decided to try it, unfortunately I was disappointed, the home made burger was lovely steak mince but it had no seasoning and was bland, the service was very good to begin with but then tailed off, no offer of another drink had to go to the bar and ask yourself, waited for... We stayed 2 nights while attending a friends wedding, very comfortable, clean and spacious room, very good evening meals and brilliant breakfasts. A very friendly pub and interesting village. Landlord and his staff were most welcoming. We were joined by friends for our second night, we all enjoyed our stay. We had a room overlooking the road, it was quiet... More

The stable court rooms are great for a stop over before the channel tunnel. Everything is clean and serviceable. The pub and bar meals are good. They do a breakfast tray for people who are leaving early.

We popped into the Rose and Crown with our dog when we visited the area. They were happy to let our dog in and sit with us and we just had a drink my husband and I. As we were staying in the area in a place with no signal the lady behind the bar gave us some advice on... More

Attracted by the great reviews we travelled some distance for an evening meal. After ordering our main courses we waited 50 MINUTES for the decidedly very average, ordinary food which was served without any apology. Be advised that the restaurant is 'dog friendly'.

I am sorry that you felt the wait un acceptable on a busy service, when we state at the top of all our menus that during busy periods there might be a wait AS EVERYTHING ON OUR MENU IS COOKED FRESH TO ORDER, so I can only apologise! Yes the Rose and Crown Inn is Dog friendly as we are... More

Havnt been back for a number of years but had seen good reviews. Had a lovely lunch and our little dog was welcomed. Think this landlord has put this lovely pub back on the map. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the veg, starters were varied and very good and home made puds as well.

What a lovely pub. Cannot fault this place. Came in for a evening meal to a friendly welcome from the landlord who advised us on his delicious selection beers. Having chosen Spitfire Gold was a great choice. The food is very good, well presented and plenty of it. The service from Monica was second to none. We are in the... More

Great location and good to have rooms linked to the pub. We've come back to new tenants and soooooo much better. The guy is very welcoming and friendly. Food fab. Rooms great. Welcoming for young children. Have had a lovely weekend and great beer garden.
