Stayed at the R & C for one night only for a B & B. In room 3. I was restricted to one night only, because the hotel was fully booked for the following night. Had a thoroughly pleasant stay. The room was nice & clean, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were courteous as... More

Just spent a long weekend in this delightful establishment. Set in a beautiful village this hotel was just the best. Amazing staff, great food, the room was superb. There was even a beer festival on when I was there, so the entertainment was second to none. Off street parking locked up at night so peace of mind about my car.... More

Biggest hotel room we've ever slept in, with comfortable bed, sofa, coffee table and solid wood wardrobe and chest of drawers (no chipboard in sight!). Well stocked hospitality tray with items we would not have expected in this price range. The staff were friendly and helpful, and accommodated our request for veggie cooked breakfasts with ease. Would definitely stay again.

Great little pub very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed over for one night and had a delicious lunch there. All food is well presented and all made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Very spacious room and well equipped with thoughtful touches like squash for kids and choice of teas. Good value too.

Elham is a lovely old village in a beautiful part of the Kentish countryside, and this pub and restaurant is an atmospheric part of the scene. Our room, separate from the main building, was part of the buildings around the yard of this former coaching stop. The room was large, the bed comfortable. Main disadvantage to the en suite was... Visited Elham in search of our roots. My father descended from people in the Lyminge, Elham and Stowting area. They probably hung out in the Rose and Crown. Friendly owner gave us info on the historical society and pictures of the village. But the best was the food. I had the Kentish Steak and ale pie and it was rich,... More

We stayed over two nights for a friend's wedding and chose the Rose and Crown because it was close to the Venue. The hotel is very relaxed, clean and tidy and the staff are great - very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was really big with our double bed and also a spare single. The bathroom... When we arrived the pub was packed being Sunday afternoon. The room is huge and as the weather took a turn for the worse and really cold the heating was adequate. Two nights here meant that we could unwind a little before our long flights to Australia. The breakfast was typically English, and as much as you wanted all cooked... More

Lovely room, really spacious, food was great, staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble, the whole ethos of this establishment was to make life easier for you if they could. We were only there for two nights and out for most of the time but still managed to be told twice 'all you have to do is ask'... More

I had heard good things about this pub so decided to try it, unfortunately I was disappointed, the home made burger was lovely steak mince but it had no seasoning and was bland, the service was very good to begin with but then tailed off, no offer of another drink had to go to the bar and ask yourself, waited for...
