Would have marked this wonderful place a 5 star but 2 issues. Ran out of soya milk as wife needs due to allergy and bar not adequate. Barman always never there as running around elsewhere and not enough room in small library. Needs thinking about. Aside for my that, and despite cost of around £350 per night inc breakfast, our... We stayed at Dalhousie for a few nights, using it mainly as a base for day trips around Lowlands, but the time we actually stayed at the hotel was an absolute bliss as well. At first it is quite easy to get lost in the maze of corridors, but this actually adds up to the experience, as you can discover... More

We originally booked a room for three people with separate beds. It took over a week to get a response from the hotel to alter our requirements. We called daily, left messages as requested and also emailed but they did not respond. When we got hold of the staff and requested a change they said this was no problem. When... More

4 adults for afternoon tea on a Saturday afternoon. It is a bit of a maze, we got a bit lost trying to find where to go, could do with some more sign posts, but the castle is stunning! The orangery was quiet, 2 other groups in for afternoon tea, one of which was there as part of a spa... More

The castle grounds are immaculate. It is one of the prettier castles we've seen in Scotland, and it was a wonderful experience over all. We ended up booking two nights from two different websites (our mistake) & had to change rooms (fair enough). The staff was helpful in making sure we could be in the castle both nights (as opposed... My girlfriend and I stayed at the Dalhousie Castle last weekend and I'd go as far as saying it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The Castle and grounds are simply stunning, the bedrooms are comfortable and the bed was huge!! I would add that the bedrooms are perhaps a little dark, due to the size of the Castle... More

We booked 2 nights for our son's wedding which Dalhousie hosted. Although the castle and grounds are lovely and a perfect setting, there were a lot of things that were not good enough and marred our overall experience: 1. We had paid extra for a 4 poster luxury room. The room they gave us on arrival looked nice but smelt... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dalhousie Castle, it was our one big splurge during our trip to the UK and well worth the extravagance of expense! Staff were courteous and efficient, and always willing to help where they could. Our four-poster-themed room was wonderful, large, comfortable, and with a great view of the grounds. Only complaint was no AC... More

I was not an overnight guest but spent the day there as part of a wedding party. The venue is beautiful and the staff were polite and professional. I was particularly impressed with the service at the main meal. The food was lovely too. I wish i could have afforded to stay!
