Supposed to be staying here last night what a joke. Arrived to no one about, went round the back into a very untidy dirty smelly kitchen, rang the bell and a man appeared I said we had a booking for that night only to be told that due to an over booking we would be staying 2 miles down the... didn't receive a warm welcome. we arrived at 1.40 after a very long journey and were 'greeted' by an anti-social, scruffy surly man who told us in no uncertain terms that our three rooms weren't ready and we'd have to come back. After a drive around the village (didn't take long) we returned to a more pleasant lady (the wife... More

Thank you for your review. I must say I was a bit shocked at your comments, given that we spent some time chatting, when I made you all tea & coffee on your early arrival. Most guests have checked out by 12.pm this then gives me time to have our 8 en-suite rooms ready & cleaned for the next guests... More

only stayed one night, but on arrival having stated we would be arriving between 12-1pm, and turning up at 1.45pm we followed instructions for the entrance, rang the bell and entered, we were met by Ian and told we were too early, come back at 2pm, so back in the car. we arrived back after 2pm, rooms still not ready... The first place I visited when we arrived was the toilet which I couldn't flush as it was stuck down. My husband quickly sorted it. The bedroom window was broken and couldn't be shut or pulled close. Although it was August it was starting to get a bit chilly late at night and at 4am a cockerel started crowing and... More

We stayed for a weekend at The Cottage B&B while visiting Carfest North at Bolesworth Castle. The house is very well presented and Carol the owner could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The room itself was a spacious attic room with a double bed and 2 single beds and had all of the usual amenities like TV, tea... More

Me and my friend stayed here for one night as we were going into Liverpool for a concert. When we arrived there was no-one around to assist us for about 20 mins. We rang the door well many times until I wandered round the property and found the daughter who then checked me in (she was lovely). On looking around... More

Needing to stay overnight in the area before a family party, my companion found this listing. Good choice! Delightful setting in achingly cute Cheshire village, warm welcome, lovely rooms with boiling hot showers/flat screen TVs, then in the morning a good English breakfast. Only slight quibbles were slightly 'unfluffy' towels and 'untasty' coffee. Otherwise superb... And the icing on the... More

We visited the B&B with several family members, including a 13 year old and a 4 year old boy. They loved the chickens roaming around the garden, the rabbits that they were able to feed, and the friendly cats and dogs. Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of dog mess on the lawn, so the children had to watch their... More

Came here to stay for a weeding, feel very let down by the service. I asked the male host for an iron for my shirt to which he said they don't have one, so I made him aware that his website and on the back of the bedroom doors state iron and Ironing board available. Don't stay here all very... More

Having enjoyed a previous pleasant stay, 'The Cottage' was our family's first choice when recently flying from Liverpool airport.I am unable to use the word greeted as we were not,in fact we were made to feel extremely unwelcome on arrival by Ian who I understand is part proprietor. It was made abundantly clear by him that our presence was an inconvenience...
