Alveston House Hotel is a nice historic building in a nice area. What lets it down is the decor and general finish of the rooms. The staff are brilliant, and I appreciate the efforts of the passionate General Manager to put this place on the map, but the rooms are tired and finished with horrible seventies-brown furniture and doors. The... More

Only stayed for one night in standard room checkin staff very helpful room good standard a few creaky boards around the place could wake a light sleeper but that's being very critical, shower pressure was quite low and took a while to warm up, breakfast was charged separate £10 that was a bit expensive but was very good if you... This is the third Board Meeting we have held at the AHH. Yet again their hospitality and high level of service is refreshing and not al all manufactured like the bigger, much less personal chains and excellent value. This is a Hotel that genuinely treats its visitors as friends. In addition it was a Co Directors Birthday, and low and... More

We checked into Alveston House Hotel on Monday 18th July with our 11 month old dog Jenga. This a dog friendly hotel and we had requested a quiet room away from the noise of traffic and other hotel guests. The room was modern with a very comfortable bed and very quiet. The staff were marvellous and gave the impression that... More

I recently organised an event for a lunch for 66 people. We were in the Restaurant which had character and nicely decorated. The lounge area was very homely. The hotel exterior is imposing and the parking facilities were good. The Management and staff were extremely helpful, friendly and yet professional all through the process of organising the event. Despite a... More

As a special surprise I treated my wife to an afternoon tea at the Alveston House Hotel in the Carriages Restaurant. A glass of prosecco, followed by a hot drink of tea or coffee, dainty sandwiches, cakes and finally scones with jam, cream and fresh strawberries. Julia was just blown away. The atmosphere was lovely, service and staff were 5... More

Extremely comfy bed, super clean, and lovely for a dog friendly hotel. If you want a quiet room, ask for one overlooking the garden. It is a period property and there are some stairs to negotiate for most rooms, so if you have mobility issues, you should speak to the staff about that.

From start to finish we received a smooth easy and reliable service. None of the staff were pushy they just sold the venue to us by being friendly and professional. The price for the wedding was very competitive and the food and attention to detail was fantastic. We felt in complete safe hands and both myself and my new Husband... More
