Staff were very friendly and efficient on arrival. The receptionist escorted me and carried my luggage to my room. The room was clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. I had a cooked breakfast which was very nice but I felt there could have been a bigger and better selection of pastries on offer if you were just having a... More

We only spent one night at the hotel but would go back and stay longer. The staff were all friendly and really helpful. The rooms were extremely comfortable and very clean. We had breakfast and I can't say enough about it, freshly cooked not buffet style again all the staff were friendly and helpful nothing seemed too much trouble, everything... More

Our room was light and airy and kept very clean by the domestic staff (whom we never saw). The hotel has a beautifully kept walled garden with a lily pond and although the hotel is close to a busy road the traffic could not be heard. There was an imaginative and tasty range of sandwich fillings: we only had one... More

I recently booked afternoon tea for a friend's 70th birthday at the Alveston House Hotel. The tea was really lovely, as was the service. It makes for a special occasion that is different from a meal. The sandwiches were delicious - three fingers each with 3 different fillings, the scones - home made - were amazing (and I'm not that... More

Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your Afternoon Tea and really appreciate your feedback. As you point out, we hope our range of Afternoon Teas can cater for everyone. We especially like the fact that you were not that keen on scones prior to tasting ours! We hope to welcome you again soon. More

We stayed here for one night on saturday 6th August with our dog Coco. The staff could not have been more welcoming to us and our Coco, we were at first unsure that we had arrived at the hotel we'd booked as it looked too elegant to be "dog friendly"! We had a standard double room and although a bit... More

Having some home renovations undertaken we needed to be away from home but my husband wanted to attend an event in Thornbury so we decided on a 2 night stay at Alveston House Hotel. All the staff from reception to porter and waiting staff went out of their way to help. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and... More

I only stayed a single night but was pleased with the overall experience. The location was great – easy to find, plenty of free parking, and just a quick hop over to the M5. The staff were very friendly and professional, and even upgraded my room at no extra cost. The room and bed were very clean and comfortable. The... More

Superb Sunday luncheon served to celebrate my Mother's 80th Birthday - the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. After lunch the sun came out and we had coffee etc in the beautiful garden. Excellent venue for a special time.

Stopped by after an afternoon of shopping for afternoon tea with my Granny and boyfriend. We were seated in the conservatory which was very peaceful. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, my favorites being the tea sandwiches and scones (best I've had in England this visit!) Definitely worth the stop if you find yourself nearby.
