We visited Howden Yesterday (15th November) and pulled up outside the Wellington Hotel. We don't normally eat at carveries, but because it was convenient we decided to give it a go. So pleased we did, the staff were welcoming and sorted us with a table even though we had not booked, the choice of meats was a little limited (beef...

Stayed because near to Shire Hall. had a meal there: great food and excellent wine at decent price. Clean sheets and new shower. Nice to see bloke multi-tasking! Booked us in, showed us to our room, served our meal and maybe cooked it. Admired him.

Stayed at The Wellington for a family wedding. Lovely welcome, great staff especially Neil who gave us a lift to the church when our taxi didn't turn up, you are a star Neil. This is the second time we've stayed here and I wouldn't hesitate to book again next time we visit.

Me and my friend were looking forward to a nice sandwich lunch and we were very disappointed. The bread looked like the cheapest you could get and the same for the filling. You get chips but about 5 and a pinch of salad. Not sure what the main meals are like but a sandwich isn't too hard to get wrong.

Had Lunch in the Wellington and I don't know if we just hit it on a bad day but the menu was limited and the food average (the prices however are not) It's true what all the other reviews say, the girl (Katie) working the bar and waitressing the food is just lovely and excellent at her job however she...

Excellent service, very professional staff especially landlord and Katie, real ale very much to hubby's approval - beer is 'kept well' apparently - we didn't try the food but looked a lovely menu with some home made food - next time we go we will try. Nice clean rooms, thought it would be noisy as the Minster is literally a...
