We stayed here for one night as part for a birthday treat for my partner and we could not have been happier. It was just lovely from start to finish. The staff could not have been anymore helpful or friendly. We stayed in the feature room that had a lovely bath in the bed room, very romantic! The bed was... More

I have been a regular visitor for 10 years staying in the holiday inn express at least 5 times per year if not more.... This pub seems to go up and down in my estimation! At the moment the manager seemed to have a grip on what was going on and the staff were polite and attentive... Especially the young... More

Lovely, well presented food. Very flavourable and the quality is obvious; in both ingredients and skill of preparation. Friendly and attentive staff, clear sense of comrandary and respect. Premise was rustic and clean.

Like almost everyone uses the sat nav and found ourself on the other side of the railway tracks... Not to worry double backed and found the hotel at our second attempt. Initial thought were where had we come? Looked like the middle of an industrial estate. Checked in via the bar as the staff weren't in the reception however the... More

Two night business stay and I have to say the hotel is great. Extremely quirky corridors and rooms and you have to mind your head as 500 years ago, people weren't so tall. My 'cosy double' would probably have been too cosy for two, but not a problem for just me. All the employees we encountered were fantastic - in... More

We stayed for one night here. We picked it because we could get the train into Cambridge but also it is really old with a lot of character and what a lot of people don't know is Douglas Bader the famous Battle of Britain pilot had his wife stay here when he was flying from nearby Duxford airfield (I'm a... Stopped for lunch finally after passing this place for 10 years. Arrived 1.30 ish, 1 outside table in use, all others had remains of last diners. Greeted by an uninterested member of staff. Limited lunch menu, moderately high prices. £7.50 for a scotch egg, served on its own???? Very tasty apparently but way too expensive. Cleaned our own table as... More
