Visited Durn house with a group of 8 from work for a 50th birthday celebration. We were originally seated inside in a lower room which was lovely but some felt the room was a bit dark. Immediately the staff were attentive and brought through some lamps to brighten the room but then later offered us outside as it was a... More

My friend and our daughters just spent an absolutely fantastic afternoon at Durn House. My friend and I both had a lovely, relaxing massage in the beautiful Spa room and our daughters really enjoyed their first ever facial, thanks very much to Julie for the treatments and for making us feel so relaxed and pampered. The Afternoon Tea was fabulous,... More

Just returned from a three day stay for the Portsoy Traditional Boat Festival which was wonderful. Durn house is an exquisite old mansion in fine renovated shape but needs some tough managerial help. Many "out ofs" eg, Bordeaux, Pinot on night three, Serrano ham for my eggs Benedict. Little things like the bent forks (twice) you know when you jam... More

Home after a lovely 1 night stay at Durn house. Was there for a hen party we had the afternoon tea which was lovely. All the cakes and sandwiches were delicious. Thereafter we had the gentlemens club to ourselves and decorated by the staff with our own decorations. They also lay out our food we had taken over which was... More

Went to Durn House for afternoon tea while we holidayed in Portsoy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had plenty to eat and asked for a doggy bag which was no problem. We'll definitely go back next time we are in the area and would recommend.

Aaron, saw on arrival, was extremely kind and helpful, couldn't do enough for me. First room allocated on top floor - unsuitable for 80 year old lady! - Aaron change my room to 1st floor. Room lovely with showcase bathroom. Was told bar would be open during my stay, but wasn't. Was informed by Steven, the 2nd manager, that I... More

Having been born in Portsoy I was curuous to see what the big house looked like inside. I was not disappointed! The place oozes charm amd history. Huge bedroom (we were in the Silk Room) and the bathroom was bigger than most hotel bedrooms! Very comfy bed ! We had dinner there and although the choice is somewhat limited the... More

After an 11 mile hike from Cullen to Portsoy, I was really looking forward to a place to rest my tired feet. I never imagined we would be staying in such a grand inn! Oh My! When we arrived we were served tea, and then taken to our huge, beautiful room With a huge bathroom and windows all around! Oh... More

Fabulous Birthday Celebration - A dinner party with an overnight stay that has left wonderful memories. The organisation carried out by Louise Cowie – Events Manager was fantastic, very professional and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. All the rooms in the building are different and have a romantic old charm, antique furniture and exquisite wall papers; we took over... More

We booked a weekend away to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary early due to work and other commitments. As soon as we arrived we felt at home, as soon as we mentioned our name we were ushered to a side lounge where a log fire was lit. We were told our pre booked Afternoon Tea would be served soon and were... More
