My wife and I spent a Saturday night at The Lister Arms following a day visiting friends nearby. Wow, it's busy! Dinner was good, the room (5) was Ok - we got a good nights sleep - breakfast was really tremendous, cooked to perfection. We would definitely stay again.

A lovely pub in a beautiful village. We ordered sandwiches and they were huge! Luckily, they were also delicious (as were the portion of chips we shared) so not much was left at the end of the meal! We usually visit the Lister Arms in winter and I am pleased to say it is as cosy and welcoming in summer.

My other half and I stayed one night for a birthday treat. Our room was lovely, the food was incredible (we had dinner the night before, breakfast in the morning, then a cheeky dessert at lunchtime), and Malham itself is just stunning. Would love to stay again.

Yesterday we decided to take my son somewhere different. It was a beautiful day so we wanted to eat outdoors. The patio was very nice,it was clean with plenty of parasols. The menu had changed and the prices have risen quite a lot. When we were there before they did smaller portions. Nice menu but the prices were over the... More

This place is comfortable, friendly, quirky, characterful and just a lovely place to spend time when visiting the Yorkshire Dales. The staff could not be more friendly and attentive, they make it a special place to stay. I can't say enough good things about our time here, really really enjoyed every minute. The food is excellent, the atmosphere and relaxed... More

Stayed one night at the Lister Arms (would have liked to stay longer), Great location in the centre of the village. Room was a good size and well appointed, exposed beams and a low door. Breakfast was large and tasty, setting us up for the day. The pub sells a good range of ales and cider, and the Old Rosie... More

My boyfriend and I visited the Lister on the 10th and 11th and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of our room and the scenery. However, one small thing that did bug us was the little green light on the ceiling of the room that didn't turn off all night (I'm a light sleeper and it kept me awake... More

Came for evening meal and wasn't disappointed . Everything from start to finish was lovely. Food, service, ambience all made it a great night. Hats off to staff and Chef !! We hope to book a room here very soon for a longer stay as a great base for walking and exploring the Dales.

We ordered Chicken and ham pie which came with chunky chips, mushy peas and a pot of gravy. The pie was lovely but the rest kissed the mark by miles. The chunky chips looked the business, tripled fried etc, but in reality due to being so large they were like fried mashed potato, all mushy in the centre. The mushy... More

Thank you for your review. We welcome all comments both positive and negative. We are sorry that the food "missed the mark" for you on this occasion. As anyone can see our comments about the food are overwhelmingly positive. Our pies are our best selling dish so you are quite right to describe them as lovely. Our chips are light... More
