This is an ideal village pub for the Yorkshire Dales. Rooms were clean and well fitted, breakfasts brilliant, evening meals fine (apart from the heavy-going chunky chips, go for the mash or the skinny fries). Staff really on the ball and helpful, choice and condition of beers excellent ... not only were they more than 50p a pint cheaper than... More

Spent last weekend here with family to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. Triple room lots of small touches, fresh milk in a flask, homemade cookies, eye masks, ear plugs. Wonderful big fluffy towels. Ate in the hotel on the Saturday evening good choice of food at reasonable prices. The breakfasts were delightful, the sausages and bacon obviously from a local... More

We recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at The Lister Arms. Everything from hospitality to food were excellent. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel both evenings and were able to enjoy sitting outside, thanks to the lovely weather. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely be returning!!

Unfortunately I cannot rate this any higher than3.When we arrived the stair carpet leading to our room was dangerously worn and frayed.I told a member of staff the next morning that it was a health and safety hazard and they advised me that it was being replaced that day however 4 days later and it had still not been replaced.... Thank you for your review. We welcome all comments both positive and negative. We are very happy your review contains so many positives; the friendly and helpful staff, the nice room, the mostly excellent food and our great homemade bread. We are sorry you felt a couple of areas led to some negative experiences. We agree our stair carpet is... More

We had a delightful stay at the Lister Arms, a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The room was spacious and comfortable, with very good facilities. The food really was excellent, a limited menu but very good food, well cooked, good portion size with excellent service and good value for money, we were quite happy to dine at the Lister... More

Went for lunch after walking round Malham cove with the dog. Pub is very dog friendly with bowls of water, biscuits and even dog mats! Large selection of ales on tap. Menu is extensive and the pulled pork burger was huge and very tasty. A definite place to recommend when you're in the area.

16 of us stayed here last October for a weekend. We had such a great time we have booked to go back again this year. The accommodation was great, great facilities in the room with the added bonus of fresh milk for tea and coffee and yummy biscuits! We took our dog with us and he had a great time... More

After a long walk up Malham Cove we thought it would be a nice treat to have lunch at Lister Arms. It is very dog friendly but it was such a nice day we sat out front. The staff were very attentive and friendly and although we only had something off the sandwich menu it was excellent value for money... More

We wanted to stay in Malham for our wedding anniversary, having passed through it a few weeks before. Lister Arms had one double room left (it seems the whole world was in Malham this weekend). We booked it, plus a table for dinner. After a very wet walk, we came back to a lovely comfortable room - put our clothes... More
