Poor service... They won't even greet you or welcome you... Upon arrival and as i was still puffing from the uphill I had to walk, someone, probably a family member of the business, pointed at a sign and said: "read this, do you know how to read? u came here too late... u ring someone to check in now".... Pictures... More

This was a last minute option for us, it was cheap and a convenient loclocation. First up we were charged $10 for parking (in the driveway) and tried to charge for parking on the street also. then there was the maze to get to the rooms which smelled and looked like the setting to a borrow movie. The shower screen... More

Good location but that's it. Electrical wires hanging out, door had been jimmied off with a crowbar and hasn't been repaired properly, a gentle push and the lock would fall off the door jam. No a/c so a summer stay would be unbearable. Rock hard bed, broken fittings in bathroom, towels clean but stained and dirty floor. Sheets and bathroom... More

Great location but that's where it ends. This place has long stay residents that, would otherwise be homeless. Men wandering round in towels, the smoking area was right next to oyr room and bathroom slats could not be closed. Room was meant to be private abd quiet. The laundry backed into our room! We cancelled but wotif still charged us... More

I stayed at there back in June, after holidaying in Thailand. I booked a single room, they gave me a tiny bed double bunk bed room. the mattress was harder than concrete, my back was aching. One chair i sat on collapsed and i hit my head. The heater i was using was about to blow up, they replaced that... More

I can't believe that Carnarvon Lodge is still in operation. Following my stay here I reported them to the Health Department NSW for various health and safety infringements: smoking in all parts of hotel, including common areas; signs in bathrooms warning not to open door or it may set off a fire alarm and cause fire brigade to attend premises... The room we had was dirty from the previous stay. Looked like all they had done was change the sheets. There were holes in the walls, the tap in the ensuite was falling off, one of the blinds was attached with masking tape and half the power points didn't work. Overall a rubbish place to stay and very over priced.... More

Air con leaked water all over the entire floor. As others have said, everything about this place is horrible. Simply just don't come here. Fork out a tad more cash for something a lot better. The only slightly positive about it is the location. Nice area and close to the train station.

Booked this place for a family trip to Sydney - didn't have high expectations - all we wanted was something clean and basic - would be out all day anyway. Where do I start? How can you go wrong with clean and basic? My daughter slept in a bunk bed and there was a window over it with a large... More

Disgusting. The room smelt bad and I found out at 1am why - the mattress I was sleeping on was blood soaked and wrapped in plastic. It stunk like a used tampon rotting. I slept with my head out the window and on top of all the bed linen desperately trying to not breathe. I am sure this is illegal... More
