Funky hotel with nice restaurant. Good rooms, decent restaurant and great place to base yourself to experience San Gerardo de Dota. Arranged a great bird watching and quetzal seeing tour for us, interesting even for a 12 year old. Ethanol fires to keep you warm in the evenings.

The perfect getaway for my husband and I on our honeymoon trip! Although we rented a standard room we were upgraded when they discovered it was our honeymoon! The staff were exceptionally friendly, kind, and accommodating. Our room was beautifully set up and the view is exceptional. The walk to your room can be a long way if you aren't... More

We are just home after a couple of nights at Dantica at the end of our trip to Costa Rica. We really enjoyed our stay there. We had booked the junior suite and we're delighted to be upgraded to the master suite. It is pretty close to the restaurant and reception. I think the junior suite is a slightly longer... More

The location and the quaintness of lodge are not to be missed. We loved everything about this place. The gorgeous views from the rooms, the beautiful and reasonable gallery, the convenient on-site restaurant (not the most impressive food, but satisfied the hunger). Our group took a nice yet challenging hike and then in the morning went on a tour to... More

I am having such a hard time reviewing this lodge and really would give it 3 and a half stars. On the one hand, it was the perfect location, on top and within the cloud forest. Our bungalow had a solid wall of windows that overlooked the whole area and a great patio. The restaurant was fabulous with large portions... More

cabins were very cute and the staff was very friendly. be careful when you first go into rooms not to drink what appears like bottled water as this is the ethanol for the fireplaces. setting is lovely and the father/son team who do the quetzal tours are great. gallery on site has very nice gifts that are locally made and... We took one of the packages - pick up from/ return San Jose airport. Arriving late in the evening it was an interesting "hike" to our cabin [excellent porterage from Oliver - an excellent employee]. The views from the cabin were extensive and impressive. The bedroom reasonable but the bathroom could do with some uplift. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were... More

Just spend a weekend with my husband and came back completely renewed! We were highly impressed with the food... And they have the most friendly staff. We also loved the trails around the hotel premises! Our room was neat and very private with a great view. It's really worth a visit, we are definitely going back soon!

This was our second visit to Dantica. We love their cozy bungalows, everything is so beautifully designed. The attention perfect, and the food was good in an amazing little restaurant outlooking the mountains. They have a pretty big trail which you can follow, or either go to other tours outisde their property. Be sure to bring plenty of socks and... More

The design of the hotel was really really good. Also, the area is a nature wonder. The hotel does need professional maintenance plans and host specialist staff. I mean, they have good people working there and good intentions too, but you´ll need more than that in order to make a different experience into the client´s mind. The restauran serves excellent...
