The room, food, staff, garden... everything was perfect! Went for 2 nights and had a really nice time. Stayed at a junior suite with fireplace (definitely a good/romantic choice). The trails that belong to the Savegre Reserve are beatiful, make sure to hike them. We'll definitely go back :)

Our family of four spent three nights at Savegre Lodge in July. The staff was friendly and helpful, the grounds were beautiful, and the rooms were cozy. Our room was heated by a wood fireplace. It can be cold in the mountains, we brought warm clothes and we were comfortable. The bar and restaurant were very nice; the bar has... More

Had heard they give great massages and.. they do. U.S. prices so no bargain, but worth it. Spa itself very modern, clean ,nice, has steam room and jacuzzi with glass windows overlooking tropical greenery and nice changing and massage rooms.

Went for a weekend with my gf. Stayed on for one night and arrived late, so didn't get to see much more than the room. The room itself is quite spacious and has a chimney, though available fuel in-room lasts less than a couple hours. The bathroom could be nicer but it is as luxurious as you'll get in the... More

The stay at Savegre Nature Preserve was very comfortable and cozy. This hotel nestled on the banks of Savegre river in San Gerardo De Dota area is gem of a place to spend serene time in the Quetzales National Park area. The cabin like room was clean with hot water facility, a bath tub, a cozy fireplace with ample burning... More

My couple and me really enjoy our staying at Savegre Hotel. We loved the suite with fireplace, the hotel was clean and staff was very kind. We really enjoyed quetzal and bird tour. We should stay more days and enjoy more about this wonderful place located between mountains and nature.

We stayed two nights in this lovely valley hotel - the hotel itself is impeccably well run and provides comfortable lodge type rooms in manicured gardens full of hummingbirds, robins, woodpeckers as well as many other birds. There are easy enough walks one can do from the hotel, these provide additional chances to see other birds and creatures. It's worth... More

Getting here was quite an adventure. There are true hairpin turns going up the mountain with steep drop offs on one side. The drive, however, is worth it. The room I had was warm and comfortable and very clean. I sat on the patio watching dozens of hummingbirds and butterflies flying among the beautiful flowers that surrounded me and could... More

This is a nice family owned hotel located just in the middle of Cartago Mountains. If you like nature, even better if you like taking picture of rear birds and flowers, you will enjoy the gardens and the trial that you can take with and off road vehicle or ATV if you have your own one, or just taking the... This was my second visit to the hotel in four years. The food quality has improved since my last visit but still needs some work. Buffet food can get cold quickly so go when it opens. Servers have limited English. Rooms very clean so thank you very much to housekeeping. Nice trails on the property. Gift shop is not great.... More
