Its a long way down to the hotel especially in the evening but is worthwhile! The place is an osae of rest and a perfect location for your hikes in the area. Take a guide! he can show you all the birds flying around ..and there are many! especially in the hotel garden we were travelling in rain season so... More

My partner & I were in San Gerardo de Dota, staying at a different place, and we decided to visit the Savegre Lodge for lunch one day. Even though we weren't staying as overnight guests, the staff made us feel comfortable and welcome (they even got someone to help us with some car problems we were having). The food was... More

Savegre is a beautiful resort with all the amenities you could want. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The rooms have small portable heaters to keep you warm if needed. The gardens are nicely tended and very scenic. The food is first-class and well prepared with good variety. The spa is a bit pricey but the Jacuzzis are welcomed after... More

This is a first class place. Nice rooms. Lovely gardens. Good wifi in rooms but curiously not in restaurant. Great chef and very good food served in a very nice restaurants. We were booked here by Holbrook and fortunately our agent booked us a guide by the name of Moreno who took us up to see the Resplendent Quetzal. We... More

Stayed for 3 days in one of the bungalows. Lots of atmosphere; the large tub was great to relax in, and the fireplace with supplied wood a great touch. Great variety of hiking trails to explore and bird from. Hired a guide for a night tour which was really nice, plus the 5 hour quetzal tour the next day, and... More

I stayed here as part of a packaged land tour of Costa Rica. It is not a place you find by accident. It is located in a very isolated valley with the only land way in is on a fairly long winding steep road. The mountains/hills surrounding the valley is part of a cloud forest and I'll estimate the elevation... More

What a beautiful place, hard to get to but worth it (a four wheel drive would come in handy). Loverly Hotel with spacious rooms and plenty of amenities, the food was great with lot on offer at all meals (very good!). The staff are very helpful and the grounds are very well kept. The room, food, staff, garden... everything was perfect! Went for 2 nights and had a really nice time. Stayed at a junior suite with fireplace (definitely a good/romantic choice). The trails that belong to the Savegre Reserve are beatiful, make sure to hike them. We'll definitely go back :)

Our family of four spent three nights at Savegre Lodge in July. The staff was friendly and helpful, the grounds were beautiful, and the rooms were cozy. Our room was heated by a wood fireplace. It can be cold in the mountains, we brought warm clothes and we were comfortable. The bar and restaurant were very nice; the bar has... More

Had heard they give great massages and.. they do. U.S. prices so no bargain, but worth it. Spa itself very modern, clean ,nice, has steam room and jacuzzi with glass windows overlooking tropical greenery and nice changing and massage rooms.
