I only spent 1 night at the Ikaros Suites but had a really enjoyable time. The location is 15 km west of Heraklion town about 2 minutes from the beach. The local beach itself is OK but not epic. The property has a nice pool with relaxing and eating areas as its focus. The suite had a very large living area with modern furnishings, a comfy bed and shower room. I’d say the location is quiet with the odd cat fighting, but I seemed to get that everywhere I stayed in Crete :0 The best part about my stay was the staff and the food. The staff, mainly from the same family, treated you like family. Like many Cretans I had met, they were so friendly and helpful As soon as I arrived I was offered a glass (or 4!) of the home-made raki which was really nice and had a great conversation with the head of the family. The food was the best I had tasted in Crete. All made with produce from the family’s farm in the nearby hills. The portions were huge but so tasty and the local red wine excellent. Perfect accommodation - the modern rooms are nicely decorated, clean, with sea views and balcony. Pool and outdoor seating is a relaxing oasis - you will fall in love with. The place is quiet and yet a short walk from the beach, restaurants and shops. The restaurant in this family hotel cooks absolutely sensationally and all the staff is incredibly nice and friendly. The owners are the most amazing people, they always help you with everything, advise and are 100% available to you. I can definitely highly recommend this accommodation and I'd love to come back here again ♥

Poor location (surrounded by what looks like a building site?... visible on Google Maps). Little selection at breakfast. Staff seem standoffish and inflexible. Saw lots of other hotels nearby which looked better amd the beach was nice so worth checking around for other properties.

Our stay in Ikaros Suites was absolutelly AMAZING!!! ♥ First of all, I must express a great compliment to all staff. People here are incredibly kind and friendly. You will feel in their care like kings and queens :)) Another thing I really appreciate was food. OMG, the food was absolutely delicious! My husband and I are quite demanding in the choice of food, so we were very happy about this excellent culinary experience. Rooms were clean and beautiful, cleaners cleaned our room every day. Pool was awesome! Simply - everything was awesome! :)) if you are considering where to stay in Crete - Ikaros Suites will be your best choice. Thank you very much Ikaros staff, we had a really nice time with you. ♥

We booked a few weeks before coming to Crete for a family dinner and to celebrate the birthday of Thomas who turned 14 on the 27th July and the location and ambiance were outstanding and classy. We were a party of eight including three teenagers. The menu has a great selection and for such a great restaurant the prices were very reasonable. I had asked for the restaurant to provide a small birthday cake but when I arrived the restaurant team told me that the person who had agreed on the cake was actually in hospital and they were unaware that this had been agreed. However, they committed to providing something at very short notice and I don't know how they managed it but between main course and pudding a cake appeared with a great sparkler in it and we all sang Happy Birthday (you should have seen his face). I was so impressed at this level of customer service. Well done restaurant team. Score 10/10…

While the surrounding area isn’t the most interesting aside from a very nice blue flag beach, this little place is so special you won’t want to leave it anyway. We stayed here at the end of several weeks exploring and it was the perfect way to end our time in Crete. The care and love has gone into furnishing this little place is evident everywhere you look. Tip: get the breakfast, it is fresh and different every day with lots of variety and more than you can possibly eat. The restaurant is amazing and you must try it! The pool is small but perfect. We found the hospitality unmatched by any of the other places we stayed. This is what makes it stand out!

We didn’t stay here, but we did eat dinner here twice and I only wish we had found this jewel earlier in our stay. I have honestly never tasted food so fresh and tasty. There has been some recent renovations and this hotel now sports the most beautiful pool area. Shady, comfortable, it really is a stunning spot. Next time I need to get my head down and spend a week writing, I plan to head here. So very peaceful. The owners are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Marina spoke the most perfect English.

We were looking for a place near to the beach. Ikaros came up on Booking.com and looked a good place for self catering. When we arrived late due to a delay the hosts were there. We were offered a free drink so we could take a breath before checking in. Our room was on the first floor and was clean and spacious. The balcony looked out to sea. Our son had a sofa bed and we had a separate bedroom. The room had air con and a fridge and simple kitchen. When we booked the Ikaros it was an accommodation only hotel. When we arrived it had opened its own restaurant serving Cretan food. Breakfast was €7 each and was a perfect way to start the day. Meats, cheese, breads, Greek yogurt and honey, the best brownies ever, fruit and coffee was great. We ate regularly in the evening and the food was excellent. Quality and quantity was amazing value. Local food served in traditional ways. The beach is 2 mins away and a small supermarket also 2 mins walk away. There are loads of places to eat just a few minutes walk away and every one we tried was really good. We even got free deserts at one!! The cretans are so friendly and helpful. Every shop and restaurant were helpful, friendly. The food was great quality and great value. The beach was clean and the sun beds were free if you bought a drink from the beach bar the sun beds were owned by. We found a great pool bar by the sea a few minutes walk along the beach. Again it was free as long as you bought a drink and some food. Pool was quiet for much of the day. Any boisterous behaviour was quickly stopped. This was easily our favourite holiday in many years. Why? This family run hotel was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was brilliant. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The place felt so safe. Heraklion was 20 mins away and the water park and Knossos a bit further. The hotel orders us a taxi or you can get the local bus at the top of the road by the shop. When we came back each night we were welcomed back and the host even shared a Raki with me. (More than one to be honest) When we left the whole team came out to give us a hug and wish us well. You don’t get that with a big chain hotel!! We have booked to go back and can’t wait. Perfect and some.…

We stayed for 10 days at the Ikaros Apartments. As we traveled with a young baby, we stayed mostly in and around the apartment. The apartments and the restaurant Mourelo are family run. The owners are super friendly and welcomed us with open arms. During our stay, they made sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. The apartment was very comfortable, had a nice view to the sea and made us feel at home right from the beginning. The whole building is well cared for and tastefully decorated. The beach is very close. The two minutes walk is nice and as the building is not directly by the beach, it feels much quieter thant the other hotels. We can recommend this place to everybody who likes a nice, friendly and quiet environment. If you want to party every night, this is probably not the place for you as the clubs are not nearby. To sum it up, all our expectations have been surpassed and we would love to come back.…

Very trendy Interior (it can go from very modern und luxurious to a "normal" trendy, depending on the type of room you choose). The host was very hospitable and welcomed me in German language and with a bottle of water. Small things make a big difference. The property is also 5 min away from a nice beach. All in all, nothing to complain about.
