This hotel had a few pros, but many cons. I'll start with the pros. -The view from our room was amazing. It was on a higher floor and looked over the lake. Would've been a perfect spot to watch the sunrise. -The staff is very nice. - There was a bar to buy drinks Now for the cons - The... More

This is not a hotel. I feel scammed, a dinning buffet of just raw pasta for $15 per person. One tower for person if you told then to give you a towel they will rudly deny your request. Rooms with rusty beds. No a/c. No tv. Nothing. Just the bed. I would probably felt better in the cabinas in la... More

This is a tired little lodge in a great setting that worked perfectly for us, especially for the price! We stayed only one night and at at this point on our trip, we were accustomed to scrappy hotels in CR (we were winging it on our vacation over the holidays and finding hotels as we went along) so we aren't... My husband and I just spent 2 nights here. It is obvious this was once a beautiful lodge in an ideal setting. Today it is a tired lodge in need of a good scrubbing and updates. However, the price is right, the setting is peaceful, the views are amazing and we enjoyed our stay without incident. The hotel staff is... More

Winding down our 10 day trip to Costa Rica we decided to sirens one additional day in La Fortuna/Arenal area. Not knowing the area well, and not wanting to break the bank on our last couple nights, we opted to spend the night at a lakeside lodging. On the surface, Arenal Vista Lodge is beautiful, spacious, scenic and a bit... More

This place is absolutely disgusting. The place is run-down and nasty. We walked into our room and immediately found poop. The floors were grimy, dirty, and the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned since last week. They only gave ONE towel for our shower AND pool use. They gave us ONE dirty soap bar and our shower was no... More

This place has a beautiful view of the volcano and the lake. No air conditioning, but the fan in our room was good enough. A few people from my travel group had money stolen from their rooms. I bought a beer from their bar and when I took it into my room to drink it, it was missing the beer... More

This hotel is completely run down. The rooms are in need of updating with dirty linens and dirty bathrooms. The restaurant and bar are unhygienic- I can't even think about the dirty towel underneath the glasses. One room had bat droppings. Don't stay here!!!!

4 of us stayed here 11, 12 and 13 May and loved it. We were provided with wonderful Bungalow (rooms 32 and 33), which were spacious, very clean, and convenient to lodge facilities (which are beautiful rustic style .... lobby, restaurant, bar.) The whole hotel is very well maintained, the grounds are beautiful, full of flowers, birds, beautiful pool. The... More

We enjoyed the crossing by lush vegetation characteristic of Costa Rica, was better when we were made to feel at home; good service, nice resturant with variety and very good food, comfortable rooms without much tegnologia making a difference which is healthy, trails plus a great view of the lake and Volcan Arenal. We will definitely return.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the northwestern region of Costa Rica, 30 minutes away from La Fortuna, in the BiologicalCorridor between Monteverde Reserve and Arenal National Park, our lodge rests marvelously in one of the surrounding hills of the Arenal Lake, enjoying a unique view of the Lake and the Volcano. Coming to our lodge, you will be surrounded by a dense tropical forest, where more than 300 species of birds can be seen, as well as 100 species of mammals and 2500 species of plants and orchids. The Hotel Arenal Vista Lodge was conceived from a prevailing necessity derived from the deficiency of facilities in the Arenal area. We felt the need for a place that took advantage of the natural beauties the area, while offering the national and international tourists the commodities they require in the Biological Corridor between Arenal Volcano National Park and Monteverde Cloud Forest FEATURES: • 25 comfortable rooms, each lodged up to four guests. • Every room includes a private hot water bathroom, walk-in closet and a balcony with spectacular view of the volcano and lake area. • Facilities equipped to care for disabled people. • Restaurant and salad bar with costarrican and international recipes. • Swimming pool, wet-bar, souvenir shop and a meeting room, natural forest trails. Internet facilities. Parking area with 24-hour security • Restaurant, which fits 90 guests, Bar and Souvenir shop • Conference room for 30 people and swimming pool with wet bar • Optional tours: hot springs, canopy, horseback riding, boat rides, transfers to Monteverde. We offer laundry service as well. Special offers for honeymooners, students, families and cycling groups. ... more   less
