the view is beautiful... just sitting outside and looking at the volcano was really great! The little rooms were really nice a well. The bathroom was supper small with not place to even put a toothbrush... we had that big roll of toilet paper (the type that goes in a distributor) laying on the floor and then it would become...

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and were happy with our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Kenneth gave us good recommendations for restaurants and hot spring. Room was clean, quiet and had a perfect view of the volcano. Well located (not in the busy tourist zone like Fortuna) and close to many attractions. I recommend a 4x4...

Stayed as a couple here for 2 nights and although the road to get there is rocky and unpaved and the wifi was only in the lobby/restaurant, the view was worth it! Amazing, peaceful views of Lake Arenal and the volcano without the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and the breakfasts set us up for...

Nice neighborhood to stay if you like to avoid the crowds and enjoy stunning views of the volcano. The place is simple, although a little pricey (5 dollars for a beer). The staff is really kind and always available for giving information on local activities. Good breakfast and great shower.

A the top of a hill, this location is AMAZING! Like it says, every cabin has a great view. It felt very private and yet like a community at the same time. It took 45 minutes from the main road (142) to get to El Castillo thanks to the bumpy gravel roads. It's a scenic drive. Best to get there...

Located on a hill, this is a nice hotel. Rooms are clean. If you stay here go for an early morning walk and you can see many birds. Black vulture, crested Guan, Mag pie jay and kiskadee are some of the few birds I saw. There is a restaurant in the hotel premises and it includes breakfasts for hotel guests.

Great View from hotel, decent budget hotel ($100) but they have lot of issues of power outage. Since we went in December, cool breeze helped us get a good sleep but not sure how would it be in summer. They do publicize free WiFi but only in lobby area not in rooms. Rooms only have Refrigerator and no microwave. Great...

If you are looking for remote location with a nice view, this is a hotel for you. Little bit run down, but has all you need fot few days away from civilization. We had initial peoblem with the plumbing, but it was fixed promptly. I would recommend to get a 4-wheel drive - the last two miles can be muddy...

Great, locally-owned little hotel in a tiny community west of Arenal. The hilltop location offered great views over the lake and toward the volcano. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms (not the cottages) and found the room clean, comfortable, with a decent little balcony, small refrigerator, A/C, and small TV. Breakfast was delicious - we ate on the...
