We stayed for one night in a newly refurbished room with a beautiful view. Very good beds, clean room, helpful service. Breakfast was ok. The town Risør is well worth a visit, but wait until summer. Then the harbor is packed with boats and the cafés and restaurants are all open.

Our room had a lovely sea view. The summer terrace just below was not in use because of the off-season. I can imagine it could be busy in the summer. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant - delicious! The cook was also the waiter, and very attentive. The breakfast was a very good spread of the typical Norwegian breakfast... More

Risör hotel is perfectly located in this beautiful little town. The town is small so everything is walking distance, but hotel is close to some of the great spots in town (Pier 1, and some local bars). They also have a boat that takes you out to Stangholmen (lighthouse island with AMAZING views and an awesome bouillabaisse). The chef at... More

Went here to have dinner with my family. Got to sit outside as the weather was beautiful. We ate scallops and salmon tartar for starter and had the surf'n turf with crayfish, wild sheep and today's catch for mains. All food was nicely prepared although the entrecôte was more well done then the medium we asked for. Good use of... More

I stayed here for a business trip and was pleased to find a good quality hotel room. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room had a good standard and was as advertised. For Norwegian standards the bathroom was very good.

Stated two days for anniversary. It is a gem of a location, as is the town itself. Terrace bar and restaurant is a great place just to watch the boats on the water. Food very good and better value than Oslo prices. Rooms basic but clean and those on the east side of hotel have the views over the sea.... More

We had a wonderful view over the ocean from our hotel room. The hotel is a walking distance from a cosy irish bar, great restaurant (Kast los), and the hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Our room did now have a refrigerator, and the breakfast was a real disappointment. On the other hand, the great location and friendly staff make... More

Kast Loss restaurant have had a new management during the last year. They have gradually improved the service and some of the interior. They have kept the nice maritime elements from the past. The restaurant serves a limited a ’la carte menu with both local fish and game. The food was well prepared and very tasty. During the last months... More

If you want a really good dinner this is the place to go!! Their danish chef Sören is passionate about what he serves and you can taste that. Super friendly service. If you want something with even more atmosphere you can take their boat out to the Lighthouse island Stangholmen and eat at the restaurant there. This is truly spectacular,... More

We got married on the island of Stangholmen outside Risor the 7th of July and had a real international wedding with guests coming from all over Europe. Most of the wedding guests stayed in Risor hotell, so did my husband and I, and we also did a bbq for over 50 people there on the day after the wedding -... More
