A very nice hotel, wooden bungaloes located in a small forest, you can see lots of birds, squarells, even monkeys esp in the early morning, , freindly and nice staff and management, beautifull infinity pool, quite and romantic place. You have to drive to the beach app 15 minutes, hotel provides shuttle, if you rent a car it is a...

If you are looking to stay close to nature and have some quite time it is a perfect place for you. Best value too. My girlfriends and I stayed in El Sabanero Feb 8-12, 20011. It was a wonderful finale for our Costa Rica tour. The hotel is a natural extension of the natural environment and blends perfectly in the...

We love Harold and Suzi, the management, the food is to die for (cooked by Suzy and her team) and the private chalets are spotless, perfectly decorated and very privately nestled in the landscaping. I can't say enough about how much we liked our stay here. Tamarindo, Lolas, Joe's - it was all exactly what we hoped for in an...

I found El Sabanero on Trip Advisor and was so glad I did! My husband and I stayed there for four days at the start of our wonderful trip to Costa Rica. Harold picked us up from the Liberia Airport and brought us to his fabulous oasis. Our cabin was great...spotless and with a nice view. The pool was my...

We stayed at El Sabanero for six days in December. We couldn't ask for a better place to relax and fight the early "winter blues". The owners Suzie and Harold were very pleasant and attentive always addressing our questions and concerns. Resort was spotless clean with amazing views of the mountain from the main pool and the restaurant. Wooden cabins...

Harold and Susi Schneidergruber and their staff have created a family atmosphere where guests from all over the world are able to enjoy each other. There is definitely an opportunity to share life with the native Costa Ricans as well as international guests. At the same time, there is the opportunity for as much privacy as desired with lodging in...

We stayed at El Sabanero for two weeks with another couple. We chose the hotel due to the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and wanted to experience Costa Rica, rather than be stuck in a big 5 star, all inclusive hotel and feel obliged to stay there! We were not dissappointed. We were met from the airport by Harold (one...

A beautiful hideaway, a short drive from Tamarindo. An enjoyable time , we were well looked after by Harold & Susie. Rooms are basic but clean, woken early by local wildlife. Pool has a lovely view across the valley although is not large enough for swimming lengths. Food was fantastic, nothing too much trouble, from steak to prawns and toasties...
