We stayed here in July 2022 with my wife, 17 yo son and 22 yo daughter. Breakfast was a bit boring but delicious, other meals and desserts were really tasty. Next to the hotel is car rental, beach is 5 minutes from the hotel, very friendly service (English German language).
One of the worst hotels and all inclusive we have ever stayed at. Beer and wine were the only things available on all inclusive. In the evening between 7pm and 11pm they offered Brandy and Ouzo also. Appalling choice.- where were all the local spirits ? Slushies ? Cocktails ? Standard things available at every other all inclusive we have been to - and we have been to many ! Food absolutely diabolical. We gave up almost straight away and went out to local restaurants and paid - not what you expect on an all inclusive holiday. Limited, repetitive choice that tasted cheap and very nasty. Every time we so much as laughed the staff were telling us to shush - like children. It was like the minute you started having fun you got shot down immediately. I understand this is a budget hotel - how we it is as more like a hostel than a hotel. Clean enough but that was the only positive I can think of. If I could give zero stars I would !…
I booked the trip for my friends and family to visit in August to celebrate my birthday. The hotel were very accommodating when we were booking the rooms, as we had some people travelling for a week and some for a fortnight. We went for an all inclusive hotel due to convenience, and we weren't disappointed. Friendly greeting when we arrived late at night, and there was a drink and sandwich in the fridge in our room for all four of us. The rooms were basic but clean, and the housekeeping lady came every day to make your beds and empty your bins etc. It was a busy time of year but we never struggled to get sunbeds, and the pools were ideal for the age range of our party ( youngest was 2 so the small pool was fab, and then the large pool for the teenagers and adults). The food was a lot better than a lot of the reviews, good selection and always something for everyone. For what you are paying to stay at the hotel you don't mind eating out on an evening from time to time as there are lots of lovely local taverna's and bars to visit. We used to come back to the hotel and sit in the bar area around the pool and have a few drinks - there are pool tables and table tennis for the kids to play. The hotel is in a great location to be able to venture out if you wish, its on the bus route and the hotel reception told us where to buy bus tickets from and the location of the bus stops. Nice and handy to be able to wander around the gift shops and bars, and crazy golf just over the road for the teenagers. We have been holidaying in this area of Crete for years (as we have family who live there) so we know the area fairly well. It always feels very safe, and we were comfortable letting the teenagers go to the local gift shops and crazy golf. There is also a supermarket close by so everything you need on hand. 18 of us stayed at the hotel, with an age range from 2 - 50 and all had a great holiday - don't let the other reviews put you off - it was a perfect hotel for family and friends wanting a nice relaxing holiday in the sun, with no worries about having to get up at the crack of dawn to get yourself a sun bed, and wine, beer and soft drinks on tap! We will definitely be staying there again.…
the place looks lovely on the photos but is soulless dire and depressing. it was very clean and beds were very comfortable but that was all it had going for it. terrible drinks, terrible food. no towels n no shampoo, and everyone looked miserable, guests n staff, would have had more fun in a cupboard so left after two days
We arrived the 27th September at just gone midnight, the reception man was so welcoming really lovely greeting. We arrived in our room to it being absolutely spotless , there was 2 bottles of pop, a bottle of water and 2 ham and cheese bread rolls left for us in the fridge. Was a really nice thought as it was so late when we arrived. The food is good always something to eat not 5 star but it isn't 5 star! So I don't understand some of the reviews on here. The place is absolutely spotless they work really hard to keep it clean, as for the drink side yes you have to serve yourself but you have to go to the bar anyway, so that isn't an issue either. Local beer, white wine, red wine all varieties of fizzy pop! As for shorts they put HUGE bottles of shorts out in the evening Ouzo, whisky and vodka and blackcurrant to go with the Ouzo. In the day you get ice cream (it's better than the ice cream outside) so save your money 😊All in all a lovely stay would definitely go back . And also the rooms are cleaned daily except Sundays (well they do need a day off) 😊…
We arrived last Wednesday for a 5 night break. The rooms were basic but just what you need, very clean, although they say air conditioned rooms you do have to pay extra for it, €5 per day. The pool area was nice although the sunbeds are very crammed together. The food !! There is nothing positive I can say, it’s all the same , we ate in there on the first night and knew that would be our last, we ended up finding a different restaurant each night of our stay. Fish smelt rotten, chicken looked pink and the bread rolls could cause dental issues. The all inclusive was a bit of a con, flat cheap soda, 1 beer and 2 wines on a self service tap, spirits were not included in the all inclusive!!!! They should tell you this when booking the holiday. We would not go back to this hotel under the all inclusive option as it is a bit of a con. The housekeeping staff were lovely and the reception staff were nice…
I felt robbed after paying for an all inclusive that basically gave me self service draft wine (yes, that’s a thing apparently), bad beer and sodas and not at all hours. The coffee was the worst I ever tasted and after 7pm there were self service bottles of cranberry sugared vodka (again, ?!?), raki, ouzo and watered down brandy. There is no pool side bar till 9pm and if you want cocktails or other drinks you have to pay for them. By the third day we were feeling sick because of the food. It was all VERY PROCESSED, with sugar and they only had about 3 choices of food including “fish” that smelled rotten. We had to start eating outside the “all inclusive” we paid for so we could enjoy our holiday and not spending it feeling sick. The breakfast had only eggs, some weird ham, canned fruit, day old bread and ok yoghurt with canned fruit. The food wasn’t even that different from one day to the other. The positive side: the pool is nice and the bedroom was ok although we had to pay extra to get air conditioner. The beach close by is also not that good and you have to pay for the chairs that basically occupy the whole beach. Plus, no towels, bring your own or you’ll have to buy some. People should be aware of this before coming here but my advice would be, chose another hotel. Rethymno is really nice and every other hotel seems better and not that much expensive. Or at least, don’t be fooled with the all inclusive, it’s not all inclusive. And the food every where else is great. It’s sad how bad it is at this place.…
A peach and cream oasis nestled in the heart of Platanias, Rethymno, this hotel is a diamond amongst pearls. We were dropped off at about 12pm. On arrival we were greeted by smiling reception staff who showed us to room 106. It was conveniently located on the ground floor. The room was huge and had plenty of space for our things. We had a large wardrobe, bedside cabinets a dressing table and a small cupboard with a tv on it. The small fridge was ideal for cold drinks and any other snacks we needed to keep cool. Everything was spotless and the bathroom was stunning. With mosaic tiles on the floor and wall and a granite based sink and powerful shower it felt pretty luxurious. Our fridge had sandwiches and drinks ready for us which was a nice touch after a long journey. The food We stayed all inclusive and despite the mixed reviews we kept an open mind. All I can say was the food did not disappoint. The buffet offered an array of food all freshly prepared and if anything ran out the hard working staff simply brought out another tray. The feta was the best I’ve ever tasted so creamy and soft. At breakfast there was a choice of oats, pancakes, yoghurt, fruit and pastries or hot eggs, sausages, beans and salad. There was so much choice and you could have as much or as little as you wanted. lunch and dinner always meant either gyros, fresh fish, pork, chicken, pasta, Greek pie, Pitta and much more. There was always Greek salad and a choice of vegetables with fresh melon, fruit salad and cakes for dessert. If you enjoy Greek cuisine you will be happy here but even for those who prefer to eat chips everyday. There is something for you too. Between meals there are pastries and croissants. And at around 12:30 ish there is ice cream which you can have in either a cup or a cone. There are around four flavours and you just help yourself. They have drink machines where you can get either fizzy drinks, still juices, water or local beer or wine. Branded drinks are available at an extra charge. This wasn’t an issue for us but worth keeping in mind if you like to drink a lot while away. After dinner they serve cocktails for 4 euros and they also have red vodka, ouzo, raki and brandy available as part of the all inclusive. I had a couple of cocktails and they were nice. The pool is lovely but can get busy during the day. We always managed to get a sun bed though. Entertainment and local attractions The beach is literally across the road from the hotel and the walk is lovely. You pass fragrant flower lined walls and a pool bar with a tropical vibe. The beach has soft golden sand but the sea can be a little rough at times. It’s not good for small children as it throws you around a bit and there are pebbles on the shore so can be a bit overwhelming. But it is a nice place to relax and unwind and two sunbeds and a parasol and table were just five euros for the day. The beach bar sells drinks, Food and ice cream and if the sea is a bit rough you can spend some time there instead. The strip where the hotel is located has a wide selection of shops from the usual souvenirs and hats to travel shops offering trips around Crete. There are some lively bars with djs and others with live music. If you prefer something more traditional then try one of the tavernas. We loved the location as there is plenty going on and so Many shops and supermarkets. It made life easy for us. We did a few trips and would recommend going into Rethymno in the evening. It’s so lively and there is so much going on by the harbour especially. If you like palm trees and tropical rivers then visit previlli. It is one of the most picturesque places I’ve ever visited. There is a treacherous walk through the hills to get there but It is well worth it. After not having a holiday since 2018 this trip was highly anticipated and it did not disappoint. The staff at this hotel do not stop cleaning and are genuinely lovely and I would definitely go back.! Thanks to everyone at Rethymno Village for a relaxing break.…
very pleasant stay in this intimate hotel - 11 days in June 2022, very friendly service, We highly recommend - clean, delicious food and smiling, professional people working at this hotel, You can relax in a great way, close to the beach and the town center. Very good memories :-) all the best to all the staff..
We Visited here October 2021. In a positive sense I need to say the staff are very friendly and polite, they work very long hours. Unfortunately though the all inclusive aspect is shocking worst I’ve ever been on, the alcohol is very limited self service beer, cheap horrible wine during the day only! In the evening your choice is watered down ouzo, brandy, red vodka?! And Raki all was not nice to taste at all. So I thought I’d choose to drink coffee but there is only a machine that is switched off by 11pm not to be switched back on until breakfast next day, I enjoy a coffee if I wake during the night and earlier in the morning in fact I’d rather have a kettle in my room to make and choose when to have a brew this hotel does not provide this basic need. In addition I’d like to mention that there is a daily charge if you want to purchase the remote control for the air conditioning again a basic need not being met. The food is repetitive and very basic The is freezing. I hate to be negative but I think people should be aware before they book here. The cleanliness of our room was very good…
