The experience is wonderful. The view from the rooms is amazing. Very clean and beautiful rooms. Variety of food available. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. I would for sure recommend the hotel. It is an enjoyable experience for both couples and families.
Booked 7 days at this location. Because of changed plans in Athens we arrive on Monday intead of Saturday. We called and informed them of a late arrival. Arrived and Monday and told our room was given away and no room was available..However, they put us at Mary Hotel next door. Manager said " don't worry the change is an upgrade" and paid for two days. Two days later we didn't want to move again, and loved our room at Mary Hotel. I asked to see what was we were told an upgraded room. We didn't like the room and stayed at Mary Hotel and paid extra. Local management at Crete had no power. At Mary Hotel the owner is managing all day. Loved Terry and her cooking was outstanding. I am sure Crete was ok but to us Mary Hotel was superior. You can do better than Creta.
We got back today 12/10/19 from a week at the Creta Residence booked thro teletext holidays and it was a joke. They said it's a 3 star A/Inc and let me tell you this, it's barely a 1 star and definitely not all inclusive. They had 5 bain Marie's and a tiny salad table, the food was disgusting and not that we took any kids but there is zero choice for kids and a rotten choice for adults and only 3 bain Marie's at lunch time. We had toast for breakfast and that's all so we ate out for the rest of the meals. I will say one thing tho, our bathroom flooded with sewage whenw had a shower because it came up thro the drain on the bathroom floor. I reported it to a chap called Aris ( the one with the beard) and he got us moved to another room within ten minutes(thank you Aris so much for that). There wasn't someone at the little bar they have got most of the time so we got fed up waiting and went out for drinks. It's about 70 metres away from a lovely sandy beach and there is luckily bars and restaurants about a ten min walk away. We went in a few restaurants but our favourite was the Regina the food, service and price were second to none. On just another note about the hotel when you get picked up by coach to go back to the airport you have to walk about a quarter of a mile to the top of the road because the coach can't get down. Transfer time to Chania airport is approximately 100 minutes. This is all our all inclusive at the Creta residence.…
Very nice hotel. Very quiet and too close to the beach and to town.you can find anything you want. Very clean room.the staff very friendly and helpful. Also the food was delicious. The pool was big and very clean.
I've got mixed feelings on this hotel we arrived early hrs when we entered the reception we were met with a grumpy man sleeping on the sofa while doing check in no words were spoken we were handed a key and that was it we had to ask which way to our rooms On entering the room 116 we thought it looked very dated in need of a update the beds are as hard as a brick no softness to them at all bathroom very dated hairdryer is like something out the space rubbish for drying your hair shower attachment you had to hold while trying to get washed not good In morn we went for breakfast nothing for me to eat except toast had a couple of boiled eggs over the next couple of days food was not to good most of the time then on wed we got up to the pool being closed all day we were not happy no explanation to customers as why just a sign put up went and seen manager who at first was very rude to my friend but after she had it out with him spoke to her over the next couple of days we noticed there was someone not sure if she was inspecting the premises but things did improve a good bite manager more attentive to his customers we spent some time at the beach which is beautiful sun loungers 5 euro a pair which we thought was good value as you could go away and return if you wanted When walking up to the main street there was a horse in a dumping ground no water at times luckily enough there were people feeding it and giving it water ys included every day I would go up with carrots fruit something should be done about the conditions that wer sole is living in Main street loads cafe bars restaurant We met some really nice people here love crete would I return to creta residence for the reasons in my review no I wouldn't this could be a fab wee hotel if the owners put money into bringing it up to date so come on creta listen to your customers I wouldn't mind paying a little more for an up to date creta …
The hotel is in a good location - right by the beach and not far from the shops, cafes etc but to get to the hotel you have to pass a horse teathered up in a dumping ground and the horse had no food, water or shelter from the sun. The food at the hotel was good but there were no other snacks available in the afternoon apart from dry cake. The selection of drinks was very limited as well. The bedrooms were spacious but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was in need of a good scrub, especially the shower ‘cubicle’ and it smelled of sewage for most of the week. The shower was useless and it flooded the floor every time it was used. There were tea and coffee (no milk) provided for the first day only as this wasn’t replenished afterwards. The pool area was good, apart from very uncomfortable sun loungers which put us off using the pool for long periods of time. Lastly, the staff were mostly friendly and helpful but this depended on whether their conversations with each other had been interrupted.…
This year instead of heading to one of the large hotels we decided to go for a small hotel instead. As our children are both older teens we thought it would make a change for a quieter atmosphere. First impressions the hotel seemed a little dated, but it had air con and nice sized clean rooms. The rooms were cleaned and made up every day with fresh towels if you needed them. We opted for AI which runs from noon until 10pm with breakfast, lunch, cake mid afternoon and dinner - all buffet style. The food is amazing and cooked to perfection. Although a small hotel, there is a good selection with lots of delicious fruit and salad available. Drinks are white (tastes like a pinot), red wine, beer, vodka, gin and ouzo. Soft drinks and water available too. This hotel is based right on a beautiful 10k beach where you can hire 2 sunbeds and a parasol for €4. There is an amazing strip of bars and restaurants to choose from just a few mins walk from the hotel, as well as a few beach bars/restaurants too. The Games Bar is brilliant and friendly (we ended up here to watch some footie matches 🙄) They show any sport you like, and have loads of different screens. Food is delicious and there is an endless cocktail list. Maren (has a water fountain) is a wonderful restaurant with food that is out of this world and so cheap. We had 2 starters, 4 main meals (huge), 4 soft drinks, 10 alcoholic drinks, 2 cocktails...then a complimentary gesture 4 small bottle of ouzo and mini magnum ice-lollies each and the bill came to €80! The pool at the hotel is so clean and well kept with around 18 sunbeds and lots of shaded tables and chairs. Whenever we chose to arrive at the pool there was hardly anyone there and you did not have that ridiculous fight for a bed. No one reserves with a towel, there's no need. You can hire beach towels for €1. We thought this hotel was great if you really need to recharge your batteries or to use as a sightseeing base. Rerhymno is 15 mins by car (€9 for a cab) or there is a bus stop nearby. The supermarket is brilliant with everything you could possibly need and very cheap. The only negative I would have to add is that the hotel should really invest in some new mattresses. They are solid and flat. I can sleep anywhere, but after the first night I was waking up with sore hips/shoulders because there is no softness at all. I didn't realise until we were leaving you could order different pillows (as your only given one flat one) and this might have made a difference. Upstairs rooms have the views with out one (225) having a very long balcony. The air con for this room is only in the bedroom, so if a child is sleeping on the other bed in the next part of the room, you might want to run the AC a while to cool the whole room for them to sleep. This room also has a bath which is handy if you have a child. Other smaller rooms only have shower trays - and all rooms the showers are hand held.…
Gentleman who does the night shift and is the handy man is extremely rude and hostile. The food at Creta Residence is fine, just as you would expect from 3 stars. I had something to eat every night so I couldn’t complain! All other staff members are lovely, you cannot fault! The beach is in away & the sun beds are €2 each so totally worth it! The local area has great restaurants and cocktail bars,Rethymno centra is only a €9 taxi away and well worth the journey. Now onto the towel policy at Creta Residence. Apparently you are only allowed a new set of towels every 3-4 days. Now nowhere in the policy does it state this (see picture below). When we proceeded to put our towels on the floor for a fresh set each day, the maid would pick them up and hang them. Therefore for the last 5 days we were not giving fresh towels, instead I took them from her trolley. Upon checking our way to the hotel, we decided to count how much of our spending money we’d saved ( something we always do to determine which European city we’ll visit for our Christmas weekend away). We noticed we were roughly €200 down. Having added up all the things we’d spent money on, including tips and waters €200 was 100% MISSING! Now throughout the week my partner had been convinced I’d been chucking his cigarettes away in a bid to get him to give up ( I hadn’t at all). This happened with about 4 packs. I completely suspect it was the maid who came into our room each day as to my knowledge no one else apart from ourselves had entered the room. It is a shame we didn’t check our money before leaving, as we may have been able to get some answers. With all this being said, i have extremely mixed views on Creta Residence. Lovely staff, room was spacious and comfortable, food decent it’s just a shame the gentleman on night shift and the maid dented our view on the place. Please also see a picture of the Arkadi Monastery (great tourist attraction with fascinating history)!…
The girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel from July 4-15. The hotel is in an excellent location, in a quiet street full of flowers, very close to the sea. The staff is extremely hardworking and naturally kind. Everything is perfectly clear. The food is an excellent and various. Beverage too. We are pleased! And let's not forget: the hotel definitely has some irresistible local charm. We recommend this place with all heart!
The resort was not well maintained but was right near the beach. The staff were fine, but the bathroom was very tiny. Our toilet didn't work the first night and there was no water the last day we were there.
