We stayed for a week in June. The hotel is lovely, spotlessly clean with staff working hard to maintain it. The rooms had plenty of space, we had a double bed and a double sofa bed and an outdoor terrace. The rooms have a fridge which is filled with free bottled water every day, and tea and coffee facilities. They also refill free shower gel, shampoo etc every day. The restaurant food was excellent, fresh foods being prepared and plenty of options, lovely salads, amazing desserts. The pool bar had snacks during the day; sandwiches, cakes, fruit. At lunch time the pool bar had some options like pizza, fries and salads. Lots of sun loungers around the pool and on the private beach. There's a little shop which is reasonably priced. There's some activities during the day such as aqua aerobics and darts and most nights had entertainment like dancers, magician. There are shops, restaurants and bars at the top of the street which is nice to wander along. You can get a taxi into Rethymno for 10 euro. We absolutely loved our holiday and would recommend to anyone thinking of booking!…
fantastic stay the are staff excellent friendly and helpful, the food is fantastic, lots of activities and games if you want to partake. if not the beach is only a stones throw and the sunset is absolutely amazing we are rebooking for next year.
This was the 3rd time at Minos Mare (room in Minos Mare Royal); again a pleasure. Absolute cleanliness, friendly staff, very recommendable, varying food (all-inclusive booked), esthetic garden area, good private beach with drinks service... all to our full satisfaction. We have not gladly returned in vain - and will in the future. Just a few critical remarks that the management might consider (feedback given): The "Royal" part pretends some strange exclusivity via separate dining and pool facilities: unnecessary aspect boarding the ridiculous. The rooms though are fine indeed and satisfy any superior standard. Just that a very noisy cleaning lady chatted loudly all through her workday - which was an enormous nuisance in the mornings and during siesta hours... :( One could wish for a re-arrangement of the main restaurant that totally falls behind the overall image of the hotel: it resembles a third-class canteen with guests walking around erratically due to poor strategic placement of the items. We suggested expert advice; turned down. A shame in the framework of an otherwise very recommendable hotel in an attractive location.…
My wife, 3 years old son and myself have stayed at this hotel for 11 nights, in the period from 24 June to 5 July 2021. My overall impression is good, although I expected a bit more, unlike my spouse, who expected much more. Anyway, the hotel staff was somewhat confused with all these COVID measures. The food was good, we had to wear gloves and a mask each time when we had a meal. In general, it was now allowed to take food out of the restaurant, but they were flexible, if you explain that you have a child and sometimes is more convenient to bring food in the room. In the package All inclusive, you get only filter coffee, no espresso nor capuchino. You have non-alcoholic drinks, one draft beer, wine, Pepsi, seven up and some other beverages. I would like to praise all cleaning ladies. There is also this nice market, where there are a lot of interesting things, especially for the kids and the prices are by high. My biggest failure about this hotel (but that’s in many areas in Greece unfortunately) is the WiFi connection. The signal was not working properly and that’s the huge minus for the hotel.…
We have been here several times for lunch. Always perfect service, smile behind the faskmask. Just by the beach. Good quality food and good drinks. You feel that your at a first class place. Highly recommended this place!
Lovely hotel in an amazing location, relaxed vibe, great variety of quality food, snacks and drinks, friendly staff and clean rooms. In regards to the Covid-19 situation, we felt very safe; hand sanitizer dispensers were available in all common areas, all the employees were wearing both protection masks and plastic face shields (!), disinfection of chairs, sun beds etc was carried out at regular intervals (!!) physical distancing was maintained. We were impressed with the organization, the service and the Cretan philoxenia (hospitality). We highly recommend this hotel! Thanks!
Great hotel (Minos Mare) and very helpful and friendly staff who had to wear face masks and shields during Covid-19 restrictions. Hotel room really clean and smart, facilities really high standard. All inclusive food deal was very good with high quality and choice. Cris the entertainment person was great and involved all the families in activities. Really nice to travel from the UK and be with so many nationalities, German, Dutch, French, Polish, Belgium. All super friendly and made it a great stay. (UK family of 3 from Sussex).
We chose Crete for our next holiday, chosing the Minos Mare Hotel, through Olympic Holidays flying with Tui from Bournemouth. We had no problems getting there. Bournemouth airport was running smoothly, the TUI flights comfortable and on time, although the transfer got lost, and we had to get a taxi, but still no disasters. For the next 2 weeks, we had beautiful weather, it did get a bit windy at times, but the Hotel served an excellent choice of food, all inclusive, and drinks, and we were sad to leave. Our room overlooked next doors pool, a bit odd, but no problem, and the room was serviced everyday, and kept clean and tidy. Walking into the Hotel, if you keep going, you will end up in their excellent Pool, and then the beach, perhaps 200 yards from the front door to the sea. Whilst we were there, we took a TUI recommended Land Rover Jeep Safari, which took a southerly route, over the mountains, through the gorges and back again. Very Good. We also arranged a trip to Spinalonga through Klados Panagiotis Tours, situated on the main road, 200 yards away, which although an early start, was very good. A great Holiday, and my only moan would be there were very few English people at the Hotel. Most of the guests were French, German and Dutch, and the language barrier was never that much of a problem…
We enjoyed a 1week stay at the Minos Mare Hotel in July 2019. The hotel is about a 1hr 5min journey by taxi from Chania airport. On arrival we were upgraded to a room in the interconnecting Minos Mare Royal while still using the facilities of the Minos Mare. We had a lovely room with pool view, mini bar and music system. The bathroom was spacious with bath, shower and also separate shower cubicle. A/C was centrally controlled. The room was spotlessly clean. We stayed on all inclusive basis. The restaurant was quite basic, and cutlery was only put on the table once you were seated. The food was excellent with a good choice and very well cooked. Snacks were available from the pool bar at lunch and cakes from 4pm. The sunbeds round the pool usually got full quickly as did the ones on the beach but we did manage to get one each day which we moved onto the grassy areas surrounding the pool. We went under the trees for shade. The hotel is slightly set back from the strip where there are lots of nice bars and restaurants. There is entertainment around the pool each evening. We enjoyed our holiday. The hotel was very clean and staff friendly and helpful and we would visit this hotel again…
The hotel is great the pool side bar is staffed by friendly helpful people, the front of house to the cleaners go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We had a pool view and the room was lovely. This was our second stay at the the resort and this stay was better than the first, from the beach to the pool side it is spotless. The food was plentiful and varied from breakfast to dinner the staff were exceptional. I would recommend taking private transfer as the mini bus took 3 hours to get to the hotel but our return to the airport using a taxi took a quarter of the time. I can not recommend this hotel high enough and we will be returning as soon as we are able
