This is not the kind of hotel you can expect many things from. All services are average. I went with my family in 2000. Our room was clean, with minimum comfort. The pool was great, though. They had back then a nice excursion by the river in boat, I'm not sure if they still do.

At twice the price (40 cuc) as a decent casa particular, the room was run-down with broken furniture, either on or off A/C, a "sanitized for your comfort (or whatever)" toilet seat sign that was bogus (mold growing where the urine splashes were), no support for the shower head, but a clean and comfortable bed and a quiet night. Breakfast was served in a large but mostly empty dining room with food-splattered table cloths attracting flies even at 7AM. The breakfast was tiny and the "regulars", missionaries from the USA hogged the coffee and juice. The pool looked nice but I didn't use it. You are better off in a "by the hour" casa in this town.

This hotel was adequate, but nothing to write home about. The pool was beautiful, as were the grounds. The river area was pretty. The food was good. Our room was adequate, but not spectacular. We had to supplement with our own toilet paper, as we always ran out. Towels were cleaned every day. A/C worked. The bar was super noisy until the wee hours of the mornings on weekend nights, and the pool was full of non-hotel people on the weekend days until 6 p.m. and had loud music blaring until 6 p.m. as well. I didn't see other options in the area, so I don't know how to compare, but this hotel has pluses as well as minuses, but was adequate for our needs.

We went to the lobby bar and to the karaoke night but were not impressed. However the pool and food is decent. I didnt stay at any of the rooms so i wouldnt be able to tell you how they were. Too expensive.

Stayed here one night. The room was very average. Many things did not work, but what do you expect! This is Cuba. On the positive side there was a good small shop, a large swimmingpool and a small but good restaurant for dinner. The bar was open 24 hr and the beer cheap and a breakfast included. Good for one night, not recommended for a longer stay.

The hotel is a 1 star hotel by European standards. The staff are wonderful and do their utmost to make your stay enjoyable and go out of the way to sort out any issues. Since the new airport will be built there, I guess the hotel will be upgraded big time. This is not Havana, it is the REAL Cuba. Adjust your expectations accordingly, relax and enjoy!

Luckily we only reserved one night in this hotel, immediately after our arrival in La Habana. It didn't set our expectations high tor the rest of our journey, what fortunately turned out to be completely false! Our room was small and looked older and worse than everything else we saw in Cuba for the 2 following weeks. Hygiene was problematic and breakfast didn't even taste like one. State-run hotel, only when you have no other option. It was not very expensive, as a matte of fact...

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the pool was jam packed with day tourist and the music was blaring, I immediately realized that this hotel was for the internal tourist: cheap but run down, I was right. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean but are at best poor, there were two beds: one sloped up and the other sloped down in the center, chose the sloped up. I had lunch at their restaurant and the food was very good and the staff attentive. Breakfast however consisted of an egg sandwich and some fruits. I don't recommend this hotel unless you are visiting nearby or are looking for the cheapest rooms you can find.

I have read different reviews and have to give mine.I have been staying at this hotel 3 times a year for the last 6 years, as I have friends in San Antonio de los banos as well I befriended a wonderfull family who live nearby. The hotel staff are wonderfull, friendly people as are most Cubans. One must realize that this hotel is older and not in a resort area.Yes the food is not the best, but one must also realize this is Cuba and getting goods is difficult what with the embargo from the US.They do what they can with what they have or can get. For those who critisize the people who work 12 hours days 6 days a week for a measly $0.40 cents a day, shame on you. I have never had a problem at this hotel as they have alway's done their best for me.I speak spanish well enough to get by and the staff do their best to speak english and 1 member speaks french,go figure? I will return often to this hotel because it's economical and I enjoy the people,And for the price I can stay longer. My average stay there is 3 weeks each time I go.By the way,GRATUITIES,no matter what is alway's welcome to those who serve you. VIVA CUBANOS.

Good point first sheets clean but old. Towels clean but wet although dried quickly on balcony in sun. Pool large but in need of repair when we arrived somebody was cleaning it after 3 hours he had done about 25% of it and did not come back next day. No other hotels near by so it was too late to move on once we had seen the state of things. Room filthy with what looked like coffee stains on the walls. Staff off handed with off duty staff sitting at the bar so that it was difficult to get a drink and it did not improve when we saw the member of staff who had shown us to our room spitting on the floor. Meal in restaurant best forgotten and the breakfast not a great deal better. From the other reviews it would seem that the hotel had been busy in the past but when we were there it was fairly empty "maybe our experience would explain a possible reason!"
