The Ibiscus Hotel Corfu is celebrated for its pristine and modern atmosphere, with inviting rooms that offer delightful views. While the beachfront location is adored for its serenity, ideal for a romantic retreat, there are mixed feelings regarding the hotel's value and its claim to a 5-star status.
Service is generally regarded as friendly, but some guests have faced inconsistencies, especially with housekeeping. The amenities, including the pool and beach, are acknowledged for their comfort, though concerns about upkeep are noted.

Detailed Reviews
We had a very comfortable room(438) with a gorgeous view of the bay and sea, could hear the waves lapping on the beach in the mornings. Quiet and efficient air conditioning in our room. Comfortable beds and furnishings.
All staff were professional and helpful without exception.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, lots of hand sanitiser around .
Wifi was free and very good.
There is a little shop for essential items and small gifts.
The mini bus to Roda is every hour and worked really well, 5 minute trip. Reception staff can also book very reasonably priced excursions around the island. Car/bike hire on site.
The entertainment was lovely, good to have the Greek nights.
Really enjoyed the food, a very varied selection , very tasty and different items each night over the 14 days we were there. Compliments to the kitchen staff for lovely food, catering for large numbers is not easy. Particularly enjoyed the fact we were able to experience good Greek food, with some special options such as the fresh local honey comb for breakfast and the traditional Greek coffee was a nice touch.(It would have been good to have some written instructions as to how to use the traditional method as the member of staff that made it was not always available). And more of the brass cups too, as it took a while to heat, there was only one brass cup.
Also enjoyed the morning fresh water flavoured with rose petals and fruit.
The on site Spa is nice if you fancy a facial or massage.
The beach is small but pretty views over to Albania. And the water is warm and shallow a long way out, so good for safe swimming.
All in all, given the events in the world at present, pandemic, war in Ukraine, we felt lucky to be here and want to say a big thank you to the whole staff team, cleaners, gardeners, pool attendants, bar staff , kitchen and dining room staff, reception staff, we appreciate your hard work in this lovely hotel.
The only thing I would like to be different, is a separate smoking area,
There were quite a few smokers while we were there, who did sit outside on both patios, but as the doors were open ( very grateful for this fresh circulating air) the smoke tended to drift in, and it was difficult to get away from it.

Stayed for 10 days as a couple and had a lovely relaxing holiday.
The hotel is in a beautiful location with fabulous views overlooking the sea,
rooms are spacious well maintained and recently refurbished to a high standard including large bathroom and walk in shower. The were cleaned every day with new towels provided. Mini bus service to Roda was very helpful
with the driver recommending places to eat out. As we have been to Many different Greek islands over the years I would certainly recommend hiring a car or booking an excursion to fully appreciate the beauty of Corfu.
Unfortunately there were a few negatives with the pool being too small and the sun-bed reservation specialist operating at full throttle making the only option the beach, which I have to say was a pleasant relatively new experience for regular pool people. Now the biggest gripe THE FOOD! As a couple in our sixties we are certainly not fussy eaters. There were halfhearted attempts to provide Greek dishes but the meat was of poor quality and everything was cold, breakfasts of bacon and eggs were inedible so we happily survived on toast ( once we worked out the toaster) and puddings which were very nice and had plenty of choices. If you want to appreciate authentic Greek food I
would highly recommend the Agrillia restaurant in Roda fabulous food huge
portions and terrific value. As with some other reviews I’ve read regarding the
reception staff I must agree that they were certainly less than helpful particularly when we were trying to extend our room occupation for a few hours on the day of departure. It seemed like some kind of game that the receptionist was determined to win which resulted in us having to vacate our room 13 hours before our flight. Strangely enough my negative remarks are outweighed by the positive overall experience which included meeting some
very nice other hotel guests making for an enjoyable stay, having complained about the food it would be remiss of me not to mention restaurant staff who were all very friendly and in particular Afroditi who was so attentive! As a footnote regarding the pool barman who comes in for a lot of criticism we started talking to him when he was off duty and found him( believe it or not )to be pretty friendly , thereafter always greeting me with a smile when ordering our drinks, If you’ve not already fallen asleep thanks for getting to the end of my monologue

Dear jamesainedavid, thank you for staying at the Ibiscus Corfu and for writing a nice review. The fact that you found our hotel to be lovely can only make us feel proud. In regards to the sun beds, please be advised that we avail enough for everybody; however indeed some guests prefer to choose their favourite spots despite our best efforts. We are surprised by your remark regarding our cuisine as we strive hard to offer a buffet of a consistant quality and variety, which is usually very much appreciated by our guests. As for the late checkout, you can understand how it is important for us to start preparing the rooms for the new arrivals on time.We are relieved to hear that you would count our property as lovely and had an enjoyable stay overall.

What can I say except if you ever get the chance to stay at the Ibiscus hotel, Roda, Corfu, do. We booked through Tui for an all-inclusive 11 nights stay from the 13th of June to the 24th of June. When we arrived at the airport everything ran like a dream. We were greeted at the hotel, by the wonderful Maria and a glass of chilled champagne. Bags were taken care of, while we were shown to the restaurant for lunch. The restaurant food is second to none. We were truly spoilt. The views out towards Albania from the restaurant are breathtaking. After lunch we were taken to our room. We chose a ‘ swim up’. Upgrade if you can, it’s well worth it. The rooms are large and modern with the comfiest beds I’ve have ever slept in. The bathrooms are beautiful, spacious with a powerful rain shower, luxurious toiletries and big fluffy towels. The hotel was so peaceful and relaxing we didn’t really want to venture out but when we did, we went to Roda, a little village 10 minutes away with beach cafés and a little supermarket, with plentiful supplies of food for a resident cats. We also had a day trip organised from the hotel to Corfu old town and we also visited Sadari, where there is a great little health shop and the best beach CAFE called the Calipso, well worth a visit for a coffee and the deco alone will uplift your spirits. The hotel has its own private sandy beach just seconds away. You can pick up an espresso and then doze on the Sun lounges or swim in a turquoise sea with the fishes. Maria,Christie,Panos ,Margarita, the housekeepers and all the special staff, that made our stay so unbelievable thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I could go on for hours but to sum up, The Ibiscus hotel welcomes you into her large generous arms, enfolds you with her kindness, calmness and a feeling that you can stay with her forever. In one word Paradise. I didn’t want to leave x

Excellent communication from the start. They responded to every request in minutes. They allowed us to check in early at no extra charge and upgraded our room to a sea view. Maria on reception was so helpful and friendly - she spent time sorting out a uk extension lead with a continental plug because we forgot ours and she seemed to really care that we were happy with everything. They catered fantastically for our vegan diet - the restaurant manager Kristi and Maitre Spiros met with us at check in to make sure they understood our needs and looked after us personally every meal. My husband jokingly asked them for apple pie or crumble and they called the pastry chef Helen and asked her to make it - we had it the same day. They honestly bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. We were particularly impressed that all the staff understood what a vegan diet is, which is very unusual. We don’t expect this and certainly don’t expect special treatment but they excelled at looking after us and didn’t once make us feel we were causing them problems. Every morning Aphrodite remembered how we had our tea and coffee and movingly said the guests feel like family and that’s definitely how we were treated. I am confident that they would cater professionally for any dietary requirement. Every single member of staff around the hotel was friendly, cheerful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We were also very impressed to see them all being kind to the animals around the hotel and all the animals looked in good condition. Its very hard to come on holiday and see animals suffering.
The hotel itself is in a great position with its own semi private beach with sunbeds and parasols. The pool area also had gardens and a pool bar with a good selection of drinks and food. Both bars had a list of 20 different cocktails all available on the all inclusive list. The hotel is situated around half a mile outside Roda but offers a shuttle bus there and back every hour all day and evening. The rooms are modern, all marble, large bathroom with an ordinary shower and a rainfall shower, roomy balcony, bottled water every day. They provided robes and slippers. There were 3 USB points, a flat screen TV with a number of English speaking channels, plus movie channels. Overall the hotel was extremely calm and relaxing though they put on some good evening entertainment. We’ll definitely look forward to a return visit.

For a couple seeking a holiday where we could relax away from the stress of life back home we found the perfect place. The modern, spacious, air conditioned bedroom with large balcony and walk-in shower was superb. We arrived at night and opening the curtains on our first morning we stood in awe of the view across the sea to the Albanian mountains, just breathtaking! Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day with new towels and bottles of water always provided. Although we arrived late a night food was provided for us on arrival. At every meal a good variety of food was provided in the restaurant which has wonderful views across the sea to high mountains. The staff in the restaurant were friendly, helpful and always eager to please, bringing fresh coffee etc to table when needed. The pool is not huge but in lovely surroundings, well positioned for the sun, was well maintained and never overcrowded. The private beach is a short walk from the pool, beautiful and mostly sandy but bring seashore shoes if your feet don't like pebbles when going in for a swim. Evening entertainment is low key but suited us well with excellent service at the cocktail bar every night. We really enjoyed the Asian night dinners on the pool side patio , the food and service was excellent with glasses topped up costantly. Spectacular sunsets over the small island across the bay should not be missed. We arranged trips to see the Durrell's home in Kalami and to Corfu Town, both thoroughly enjoyed. Our only concern about the hotel was on leaving, after we vacated our room we had a long wait for our coach to the airport but there are no changing/shower facilities available. We loved our time at Hotel Ibiscus and would like to thank the staff who went the extra mile to ensure we had a wonderful holiday. It is a romantic place, a great location for a wedding if the Hotel offered this .

The accomodation I wouldn't recommend it fully and here's why. It's a shame as it has potential. It's nicely located. The free shuttle service is great. Always clean and a lovely spa. The hotel has all amenities in the room and it has been recently refurbished nicely. The grounds though need regular maintenance as we were looking out on to a weed garden all week, after paying extra for a swim up room this was disappointing to see. The swim up pool looked lovely but was freezing, they should have these heated especially when you pay extra for them but can't use them. We spent most of the time swimming in the sea due to this, the beach is pebbled so you need swim shoes but once in the sea it's sandy and shallow. The pools are kept clean though and the hotel clean. The food was the biggest let down. No live station, meat fatty, very samey each night. It was hard to put a proper meal together. Don't get me wrong, there is food to eat but it's not the best or a wide choice. The soup was nice and hot. Cocktails were fine. They need to set the pool bar bartender as the gardener instead as he was that much of a miserable sod it was laughable. The young lad who collects the glasses on an evening should be better placed on the pool bar he was always happy and smiling. Only entertainment on a few nights a week. They need some entertainment each night even if it's bingo or a pianist or something else simple and easy. Daytime entertainment seemed to be none existent but we were always at the beach or out exploring the island so maybe there was and we missed it. Car hire from the hotel was easy and the spa treatment lovely. Lots of places in Roda to eat when you get tired of the hotel food. You can't have a drink or food without a wasp coming by, but this is not just the hotel, it's the entire island. If you have a wasp phobia do not go to Corfu. There are a lot of wasp nests at the hotel, maybe getting rid of them may help a little or installing the cold blowers in doorways to keep the wasps out. Staff were lovely and helpful and the cleaning staff Always did a great job. Pool towels are provided with a £5 deposit, there shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hairdryer, enough usb sockets etc in the rooms. Would we go back to the hotel, no, but we wouldn't go back to Corfu. A week is long enough, we hired a car for 2 days and saw everything we wanted to see, all the sites, fortresses, castle, beaches, monetary etc. The views from the hotel and all over the island are beautiful.

This was our fifth holiday in Corfu and we’ve always felt like we’ve been spoiled with a clean, beautiful hotel decor and traditional Greek food.
So I’ll start with the good points:-
Friendly and kind staff
Beautiful views across to Albania from the restaurant
Efforts were made to rectify some issues by management
Swim up pool
Shop available for snacks and gifts
Hourly free shuttle bus to Roda from the hotel
Not so good points:-
General smell of smoke around the hotel foyer (not good for asthma sufferer)
Uneven surfaces outside some rooms with some inclines (not good for those with mobility issues)
Tired decor in some places such as the restaurant
Bedroom furniture very basic
Cleanliness not up to expected standards - (hairs on floor, blocked drain in bathroom and black mould on shower head and in bedroom)
Glasses need replacing as they’ve seen better days
Cardboard cups served by the pool which go soggy after a few minutes
Food very basic and repetitive
Very few vegetarian options apart from salad or lentils
Poorly labelled dishes in restaurant
Pre mixed cocktails with cheap versions of sprits often used (all inclusive experience wasn’t the best)
Lack of traditional Greek foods served and too much reliance on pasta, pizza, chips etc
Sadly, this was a much needed holiday after two extremely stressful years but I have ended the holiday feeling very tired, unrelaxed and disappointed. It’s really not good to be exposed to black mould and have to ask for it to be removed when you’ve paid £2000 for a week away. A holiday is meant to be a break away from stress. I appreciate the hotel apologising for this but it should not have happened in the first place.
I do feel that this hotel has a lot of potential but there’s a long way for it to reach a 4 star standard. Making sure that the hotel is thoroughly cleaned and resurfacing the pathways would definitely be a good start though.

Just got back from a lovely week staying at the Ibiscus. I think the majority of the reviews I read before going were quite accurate in terms of the pros and cons of the hotel.
We stayed in a suite with a private pool and I have to say it was was perfect. very roomy, very clean and the terrace was huge with enough space to get 3 good quality sunbeds, 2 terrace chairs, a terrace sofa , a table and a parasol on it. You can find sun on the terrace all through the day from about 10am until 5pm so some days we just stayed in the room and sunbathed all day, dipping into the pool if it got too hot.
I read a review that said the room was only cleaned once. What happens is there is an electronic pad outside the room giving the room number and one inside the room with an option to select 'do not disturb' and and option for 'clean up' our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided etc.
We found the staff to be really friendly and hard working, always tending to the grounds or busying about with other tasks looking after the hotel.
There isn't much going on in terms of entertainment and there's nothing for kids but tbh the fact that it was quiet was one of the reasons we picked it. There are other lively hotels but we wanted a week of relaxation and we certainly got that. It was the most chilled relaxing holiday we have been on.
Beach shoes are essential if you plan on using the private beach which we visited and had a swim. It's very pebbly but no big deal with beach shoes. It's a great little beach and you can walk out quite far before having to swim.
The free shuttle to Roda was once per hour on the half hour and it's worth a trip as Roda is a lovely little place with plenty places to eat and drink.
Just one thing spoiling the hotel, the food. We are not fussy but we struggled to find anything edible. The cakes and sweets were good but the main food choice / quality is sadly well below par. I'll not go into too much detail but most stuff was cold / luke warm with the same things appearing regularly for lunch and dinner. What meat dishes there were used low quality meat and were massively over cooked or had been standing for ages. I could go on but I'm sure the hotel know this is an issue because of previous reviews and I hope they can sort it out because for me, the hotel overall is outstanding.
We loved our experience at the Ibiscus but it would have got 10 out of 10 if the food was ok.

Very disappointed with this hotel, having visited Corfu before I expected more of the supposed 4* (Tui rated) hotel. Having holidayed many times I can say this in all honesty that this is one of the bottom two hotels I have stayed in. The good points go to the bar staff, fabulous service which unfortunately do not make up for the list of bad things. The hotel is tired, very tired and could do with a refresh in all areas. Very old fashioned and needs updating. The rooms are adequate, we had a swim up room, kept clean by a lovely chap day and night. Air conditioning was good and worked a treat on cooling you down. The bathroom wasn’t clean, mouldy ceiling and shower head, filthy toilet, cobwebs full of ants. The outside terrace had a drinks spill on it when we arrived, which I had to clean up myself. The cleaners did the least amount possible, made the bed, emptied bins, filled loo roll and once I saw them flick a mop around, leaving someone else’s hair all over the floor. The room had a dampness about it, the bed and our clothes all felt damp and the ants were everywhere! Bathroom, bedroom, terrace, no escaping them. I never once saw a cleaner in communal areas, and it tells. Food was terrible. Same thing for dinner as is for lunch, breakfast wasn’t any better. If you are a vegetarian I would stay well away unless you want pasta and tomato sauce daily, there may occasionally be some bean/lentil/chickpea stew to tempt you. Food always seemed to run out during service and waits were inevitable. Entertainment was limited, a Greek night, a man playing a guitar, a man and woman singing… another plus the is free bus to Roda, small but you can get some decent food and drinks here to break up the monotony of the hotel food. Very popular at night, tells you something, so you may have to wait for it to drop off others and come back for you, both ways. All in all a disappointing holiday, which wasn’t cheap and a hotel I would not recommend or return to.

We have just returned home (with Covid) from what could be such an amazing hotel.
Positive (one only): beautiful location, set into the hillside overlooking the sea.
Negatives: the cleanliness and housekeeping seriously let this hotel down. The cleaning staff are lazy, cleaning is completely inadequate and even basics like toilet and floor cleaning are not done to anywhere near an acceptable standard. Our toilet was filthy dirty which could have been eased with not too much effort. By the time the staff had swept or washed the floor there were more hairs on the floor than there had been before they started. The bathroom and bedroom mirrors hadn’t been cleaned properly for goodness knows how long, they were dirty and smeary and you couldn’t even see yourself clearly in them. Our bedding was not charged during our weeks stay and on 3 occasions staff left the top sheet in a crumpled pile on top of the bed without fully making it. Our terrace was not swept or washed once, although I asked for it to be done on one occasion due to muddy footprints and the housekeeper washed a small area and then disappeared. Clean towels were replenished daily although very hit and miss as to what the staff left, one day we were given 3 hand towels and nothing else!
There was a fairly good choice of food in the restaurant but most of it was often cold, in particular the pasta and breakfast hash browns. The chips were inedible and for a chef that can’t cook chips properly, it makes me question whether he should even be a chef! They serve a lot of pork here, but this along with most of the other meats on offer was often tough and overcooked.
It wasn’t indicated in the brochure that this hotel is not recommended for the less mobile due to its hillside position.
My husband and I have both come home having caught Covid. I believe that if the air conditioning filters aren’t cleaned regularly this can cause nasty bugs to be released into the room via the vents, perhaps this is the reason why we are both so ill, perhaps not but nevertheless the cleaning standards at this hotel are absolutely disgusting and if the hotel were in the UK it would be closed down and CONDEMNED!

We were there in June and about 3 times a week entertainment was on, couple of singers and Greek dancing.
No only kettle with tea, coffee etc in, which didn’t get replenished but you can get them in the dining hall. Yes you can hire pool towels.
Also as a bit of advice, email the hotel a week before with your preference. Some swim ups don't get any sun. We are Room 105 and sun is on pool by mid morning but not on our patio til mid afternoon. Not a problem as its 39 degrees at the moment!
No apparently it’s the same everywhere on Corfu.
There were quite a few veggie options while we were there not so sure about vegan. The hairdryers are in the bathroom which I don’t like and although it was powerful I would take my own if o went back.
