If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay in Corfu then I really shouldn’t tell you how nice Liapedes and Villa Katerina is.. So forget everything I say.... From our initial meeting with Katerina, her mum and Spiros over a cold beer in her house and being shown to our room, we knew that we were going enjoy our stay.. Everything about this place is very good, the facilities, perfectly adequate for a stay; the location, by the beach and with the use of pool at the Liapedes Beach Hotel and it’s equally good restaurant; and the area, with it’s beautiful bay, quiet roads for a walk to other bars and restaurants up to the village on the hill, to its friendly people and surrounding scenery.

We Arrived after 10pm in the evening and Katerina organised a taxi to her villa apartments..On arriving her Son helped us with our bags and Katerina gave us drinks and snacks and chatted to us. You can use any pool in any Villa in the area. There are lots of bars and three shops within walking distance and a lovely beach 30 seconds down the road where there is a large All inclusive hotel. The rooms are spotless and cleaned regularly. The area is absolutely beautiful and Katerina's mum even helps with the gardens and washing even though she's 98. We were celebrating our 50th Birthday over there and had an amazing time. One of the best holidays I've ever had and will definitely be returning..10 days was not long enough. On our departure Katerina gave us a lift to the airport where we had a very emotional goodbye. I will definitely be returning...Very soon. Efchanisto' ( Thank You) Katerina see you soon xx

Katerina Villa is well placed to explore the quieter and more traditional west coast well as the inner mountains in all their glory.Rooms are simple, but have everything you need. They are cleaned and linen changed regularly, and all have a balcony with a beautiful view of gardens full of lemon trees and exotic flowers. The shower room is very small but it works well, despite this. Our aircon was ample.Katerina lives on site and she will help you with absolutely anything you need. She made us feel very welcome. There is a small group of bars, tavernas and supermarkets, as well as a beach very close by, but bear in mind there is little level walking in the village- steep up and down walks! All the Greeks we met are incredibly welcoming, both in the beach area and up in the old village. We preferred to walk to Rovinja beach (about 20 minutes over the bluff), or even further to Limni beach, but you can get a water taxi from Liapades beach. The views are stunning and the water is clear and unreal in its colour-great for snorkelling and boating. This is a walker's and nature lover's paradise, quiet enough just moments away from the 'main' village street to recapture the magic from the Durrell's writings- an unusually cool June (20-32C) meant we enjoyed a late bloom of spring flowers, butterflies, reptiles and many other sights. Hopefully the weather will not affect the local crops too much. Of the dozen or so greek islands we have visited, we regret not visiting Corfu before. Worth hiring a car and exploring the more remote areas away from resorts, as well as the vibrant city.

We spent five wonderful days in Katerina's apartment! The room was simple but clean. There is no sea view from the balcony but instead a wonderful view over lemon and olive trees. The kitchenette is simple but we found everything we needed to prepare breakfast and simple dishes. Gefyra Beach is no more than 200m away. There are some restaurants and bars in the back of the beach but no loud music so you can still enjoy the sound of the waves. A 10 minutes walk from the apartment there ist the much nicer Rovinia beach where the water is crystal-blue, perfect for snorkeling. However, for those who you prefer a swimming pool, there is a nice and clean one just a few steps from the apartment, free to use for Katerina's guests! The very best about this acommodation is the host, though! Katerina is very friendly, helpful and cares a lot for her guests. Whenever we had a problem or a question: Katerina helped us out! All in all I can warmly recommend Villa Katerina! I hope we'll be back soon!

These apartments are located in a lovely setting overlooking a shady square. The rooms are simply furnished, clean and very comfortable. As we were there during a very hot September we were most grateful for the excellent air conditioning in the apartment. Katerina and her son Spiros are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend Villa Katerina to anyone who prefers a touch of the 'real' Corfu It is well placed for a variety of beautiful beaches in this area and Liapades is a charming, traditional village - will definitely be back
