Prior to our trip I searched Trip Advisor for reviews on the Alamanda Resort. I always use Trip Advisor to measure our expectations, but this resort was difficult to measure. So, even before I leave, I am sitting here in the lobby creating this review in hopes that it might help you make your decision. Overall, the Alamanda Resort is...

The Alamanda is a great hotel on a beautiful beach. You have to realize that when you stay here (and most hotels on the French side for that matter), you're not going to be in a large, resort-like hotel that you might find in the Bahamas or Canucn. That's part of the charm of St. Martin and probably why you're...

We stayed at the Alamanda Resort from March 8 to the 13th. As objectively speaking as possible, it is a decent hotel, but defintely (as other reviews have mentioned) has things to be aware of and have reasonable expectations before staying there. However, Orient Beach where it is located is a must and is the most beautiful and fun beach...

The Alamanda was perfect for us. The location is fabulous, a two minute walk to Orient Beach, which is certainly the most active (and beautiful) beach on St. Martin, and an easy ten minute drive to Grand Case, which has a number of wonderful restaurants. And if you don't want to drive to dinner, there are some good options for...

It is a great hotel if you are looking for quiet atmosphere and just want to relax. We were not looking for a big resort experience and it did match our expectations. Definitely need a car. Parking is not a problem. Nude people on the beach at first made us little uncomfortable, but then we took our cloth off and...

My finacee and I stayed at the Alamanda Resort from 2/14-2/20 and loved it. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. It was worth what we paid (about $400 + /nite for one of the best rooms in the resort.) Our room had a covered balcony and it could've slept a family of 4 easily as it...

We really struggled when deciding where to stay on SXM. After our recent trip, we were very pleased with our choice of the Alamanda. Based on previous reviews, we understood what the Alamanda was offering and understood it was not a full service, resort type of hotel. With that said, we were really pleased with our choice and the hotel...

We went to the Alamanda Resort in mid January, 2006. We knew that the place would not be a resort as one would typically define such accomodations. However, do not be deceived. This is a very clean place (they change the sheets and towels every day). The staff are very friendly. But,the hotel reminded us more of an upscale summer...

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Alamanda Resort. The hotel was very clean and well maintained although most of the reception staff were exactly welcoming and freindly. Our Room maid was really pleasant and cleaned our room every day including towel change. The pool was cleaned every 2 to 3 days and needed it, due to the...

My wife and I stayed for 1 week in mid January 2006 for our wedding anniversary. The Alamanda hotel is delightful, probably one of the nicest we saw on the island, unless you like big mega resorts (then go to the Dutch side). The hotel is in the best location on Orient beach, with rstaurants and a small shopping center...
