Top quality meal for four in an old coaching inn. Friendly welcoming and helpful staff. Loved all the old implements used as decor, gave the pub an olde world atmosphere, and a grandma things to explain how they worked to her grandson! Overall a very pleasant meal and an extremely reasonable price for the area, will defiantly go there again

Had a lovely evening for a family celebration. Very friendly welcoming staff, great service, food was really tasty and fresh, great portion sizes, many choices for vegetarians and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals in the atmosphere of a proper pub.

A family evening meal for 5. We all ate different dishes from the 3 course deal for £13.50. The food was piping hot and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their choices and the service was A1. We will go again. It gets really busy so you have to book.

We were very warmly welcomed. The room was very clean and the double glazing cut out the noise of traffic. The bathroom was new with a shower. Dinner was delicious and cooked to order. The bar would be wheelchair friendly but not the rooms.

I arrived a tired cyclist after a 120km ride through beautiful Wiltshire. My bike was safely locked away and I was shown to my room. It was comfortable, very clean and I wanted for nothing more. I also ate my evening meal and breakfast in the pub; in both cases the food was tasty and a good size, fuelling the... More

This pub is what a lot of pub's should be, nothing is to much trouble. The staff are really happy in their work and as for the food well large portions and not too expensive. Very good wine list also not too expensive. The place is always busy with people eating and drinking. I would recommend this place. Keep up... More

Old school village pub just off the A30. This isn't the sort of place that has been done up and offers gastropub food: traditional decor took me back to growing up in a village like this in the eighties, and the Sunday lunch menu was traditional roasts and pub classics, promptly served and reasonably priced at £8.95 for a main... Thank you for your review, we are very proud to be a traditional village pub, with original fireplaces and beams etc, as you said, not done up and certainly not plastic or modern, but proud to be the way we are! A proper English village pub steeped in history, serving proper home cooked food, yes, I'm sure you could do... More

Didn't know the area so called in on the off chance Saturday evening. Olde worlde ish pub but looking quite tired. Served by a very pleasant young lady who took our food and drinks order. I had a pint of reasonably well kept badger ale. Food arrived suspiciously quickly and was ok but nothing more than average. Lumps in the... More
