During my lifetime I built up experience with people and their character. After a short talk I decided not to trust these people and after reading reviews it seems I was not mistaking. They left me with the choice of paying a one minute boat trip or just turn around. I decided to walk to the fish sanctuary and have a swim around it. Indeed you can walk almost all the way because the sea is not deep there. Suddenly I got a lot more attention, hahaha. The sanctuary is very small and the fish will come to you when you spread a little bread. I just stayed at the island side and did not go in the sanctuary. Saved me 250 pesos per person and most of all enourmous satisfaction to see them work for nothing checking me out. It is ridiculous to charge for a fish sanctuary, believe me you pay but it gets destroyed anyway when you go in the sanctuary. Be eco friendly... As you understand...do not leave your valuables with these people...you do have a choice.

Hello PrincessBaki, Please be informed that the Local Government Unit of Pamilacan Island does not and will not allow you inside the Marine/Fish Sanctuary. You will be charge Php 1000 as it is prohibited to go inside the marine. What is allowed by the ordinance is snorkelling within the buffer zone with the assistance of the snorkel guide onboard the paddle boat with the lifevest out on your body. The snorkel guide association will charge you Php 250 each. The fee is inclusive of the environmental users' fee which will go to the LGU, rental of the life jacket and paddle boat and payment for the snorkel guide. Your snorkel guides are the former whale hunters of the island that we are trying to help to earn some economic benefits in lieu of the whale hunting that has been stopped by the government. You are commenting in the wrong place, we are in the business of restaurant and room accommodation.

Charming place just a few footsteps from the ocean. You can live a simple yet amazing life and spend the day with swimming, hiking, snorkeling or by just doing nothing but relaxing. The cottages are very basic but the hosts are super friendly and the food they serve is delicious. So what do you need more?

I went to Mary's Cottage instead of to the cottage I had booked. Oops! This however only came to light upon check-out. The staff at Mary's Cottage was so welcoming, gave me food (three meals a day), looked after me when I felt a bit ill one day, showed me to my cottage, advised me about where to snorkel, how to explore the island. Then, when checking out, turned out I had already paid another hotel through booking.com BUT the staff at Mary's told me to not worry, they'd arrange it with them, I was free to go. Amazing service. Big plus: The breakfast pancakes with banana and honey were GREAT. I'm less enthusiastic about: The bathroom. It's not really a bathroom. It's a toilet and a big bucket of sweet water to wash yourself with. But hey, three days of not washing yourself we can all easily survive. And apparently it's common also in the other accommodations on the island so it's either accepting or not visiting this little paradise at all. :D THANKS FOR A GREAT STAY LADIES.

Terrible place, don’t even bother to go there. Elvy and her daughter are running this place and the snorkeling activity like a mafia. You’re being scammed every step of your trip. First of all they tell you the snorkeling is 200 then it goes up to 250 for some reason ... same for the lunch, from 300 to 400 and they tell you after you have had lunch !! The food is very expensive and terrible. My friend got very sick and still is after one week. We went snorkeling and we left our bags in a place where we had been told it was safe. However we got stolen 4000 pesos and although we told Elvy, she blamed us for leaving some money...unbelievable!! This place has nothing nice, this family treat their staff very badly, and Elvy is the most hypocrit person on earth and very dishonest. She pretends this place is a paradise but don’t be fulled, it’s absolutely full of garbage and rubbish everywhere. They treat the island and the nature in a disrespectful way. I also saw Elvy yelling at a poor customer one day, and insulting her and her friends. I have never seen that in my life before and I have travelled a lot. Elvy should clearly think about educating herself on how to run a business. Same for her daughter and the whole family. But I guess they are clueless... AVOID this place, there are so many more nice places around.

Hello; Please be inform that Elvy is not connected with our property and she is not running the property. Elvie is a canvasser in the Baclayon Port and she brings and assists guests to any of the properties on the island as she has a house at the back of the island. But she is not working for us and we do not provide her salary. All properties on the island give her incentive for bringing guests. A lunch menu is also available at the restaurant for you to choose what to eat or a set menu at Php 350/head. The snorkeling fee of Php 250/person goes to the snorkeling association. Your Php 250/person will include your paddle boat and life jacket rental fee, environmental users fee that will go to the Local Government Unit of Pamilacan, and the payment of your snorkel guide. BTW, for your information, our snorkel guides were once the former whale hunters of Bohol which we tried to provide some environment-friendly economic endeavor due to the government prohibition on the trade and commerce of the whales, dolphins, whale sharks, and manta rays. Any agreement that you enter with Elvie is between you and Elvie only. We are not privy to your agreement whatsoever be it verbal or written. It would be good to address your concern to the Baclayon Tourism Office or to the Office of the Mayor of the Municipality of Baclayon for appropriate action. Stealing is punishable by law and you could have reported the incident to the police for quick assistance. While I pity you on your experience in Pamilacan Island but to us, it would be improper to comment on our page as we are innocent of your accusations. You could have approached Mary the Manager of the facility to raised your concern so that you will be assisted properly. I hope this helps clarify your concern. Thank you very much.

We were there only for one day, and we left our bag on their supervision at the restaurant (since Elvy, the organiser of everything on this island told us to do) and 2000 pesos were missing after the one hour of snorkeling. You have to be ashamed since we spent a lots of money in your place ! We will spread the word that you are a bad place.

Hello Clemence, If indeed you lost your precious money in the restaurant you could have called the attention of Elvie and tell her about the lost money after all as you said Elvie organized tour. I just spoke with Elvie today June 3,2018 and she told me that she don't remember that 1 of her guest lost money in the restaurant and there was no complaint from her guest. You could have called also the attention of the Manager and tell her about the money that you lost. If you paid lots of money in our place, the more that you have the right to call our attention. If you tell us about your predicament, I could have instructed our personnel to just give you a free meal or I might even give you a full refund of money that you lost. But it seems that is not your purpose, maybe you just want to ruin our reputation. Our staff will not do it as they are contented with their job. I could have also check all the wallets and pockets of the entire staff to check your lost money and immediately terminate the said personnel that stole your money. The next time you lost something please immediately inform your host. Php 2000 is just too small to bismerch our reputation. Jojo Baritua
