We chose this hotel as our first experience away for a weekend in a hotel with our dog and it could not have been any better, from the warm welcome on arrival to leaving two days later it was superb. The staff and owners Roy & Julie do everything they can to make you and your pet welcome and nothing... More

This is the firs time I have reviewed somewhere I have not actually stayed in. But.. Six of us walking the C2C arrived to find that the had been a breakdown in communication between the company transporting our bags and arranging our accommodation and no rooms had been reserved. I doubt if it was entirely the Buck's fault, but they... More

The Buck Inn is situated on the Green at Reeth. It is a large pub with rooms. We received a warm welcome. Large spacious room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Problem with boiler so no HW but was sorted once proprietor returned. All very nice friendly people. Dinner in bar was good. Slightly chaotic but friendly service. Good food.... More

Reeth is a storybook town beautifully set amid the Yorkshire Dales and The Buck is a quaint B&B with a great Pub located on the corner of the Green. The place has a sense of history which makes it feel very special. Rooms are comfortable and roomy as are the bathrooms and extra amenities like bottled water are provided. We... More

Ate here as part of a group of 4 while walking the Coast to Coast route. There was plenty of availability of tables and we ate in the restaurant area at the back which was roomy and not as crowded as the bar area. There was a good choise of food which was well cooked and tasty. Prices were reasonable.... More

Enjoyed a delicious meal here. Cod wrapped in Parma ham, in a sauce with samphire. As I don't eat potato I asked for extra veg which they willingly served me. Red cabbage, swede, carrot, sugar snap peas. Delicious. Couldn't fault it. Hubbie had steak and ale pie, chips and mushy peas which he thoroughly enjoyed .

We stayed in Reeth for 3 nights and came here each day for an early evening drink! The bar is oldy-worldy dating back to the 1700's, it's staff are very welcoming, the free house status gives a good selection of draught and guest beers, the bar doesn't have a giant TV blasting out football (which is a real bonus and... The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and the room that I stayed in was tidy clean and well equipped. The evening meal was put back at our request as we arrived an hour later than arranged for the pre booked meal and that was no problem to the staff even though it meant the chef staying on later... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Buck Hotel is a former Coaching Inn which dates from circa 1760 and is located at the village of Reeth's main cross roads and where a turnpike was in operation two centuries ago. The C2C goes past the front door, so the Buck is very popular with walkers. The Buck retains its traditional oak beamed bar with interesting horse brasses and an amazing collection of door knockers! Plus the tour de France passed the front door in 2014 so has now become very popular with cyclists. With an excellent reputation for real ales and ciders the Buck has been awarded the 2015/16 Cask Marque [for quality Real ales] and is featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2015.There is a good and varied menu with daily specials, which includes everything from Steaks to Fish & Chips and Game when in season. If you like a whisky, there are over 50 to choose from and the wine list is very popular. Dogs are welcome and there is overnight storage for cylcles. With a roaring log fire, the Buck offers the genuine Yorkshire welcome. ... more   less
