Spent 3 wonderful nights at Lembeh Resort as the 3rd leg of a dive trip. The average accommodations were small, but very clean and comfortable. The dive operation was superb and the dive guides were the best I've seen. At the end of each dive the guides write the scientific names of each of the key species pointed out on the dive on a dive slate, along with the dive site name of course. You can then photograph the slate so you have a record for each of your dives. The resort staff are very friendly and go out of their way to take care of your every need. The food was excellent and plentiful 3 times daily. There is a wonderful camera center for your photography gear, as well as a camera shop with a full-time pro to assist you. I would love to go back to this resort any time!

Everyone has already said it all. It’s an amazing location. No negatives other than: 1) too many underwater cameras. Never want to dive with another photographer in my dive group again. I’m an Instructor with thousands of dives, experienced all over the world and I never felt as suffocated as I did here. 2) from the moment you land at their “port”, you are welcomed by plastic, all over the beach. This is not unique to this location, I know that. I spent my whole “holiday” picking up plastic trash. Other divers did not. Ever. What shocked me the most though was the attitude of the resort management staff. They were like, there’s always plastic but if you don’t start somewhere and show a good example, there always will be plastic litter! It will be never-ending. Asign staff to combe the beach after high tide! It’s a tiny beach as well. They say they do and yet I was the one out there every day. They might come out once a week?

Dear LeBoudec, Thank you for your 5 star review, we appreciate you taking the time to write it. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you also for sharing your comments regarding underwater photographers. Lembeh is famous for its rare and unusual marine life which is often exposed and stationary - which attracts divers, marine biologists and yes, underwater photographers. We keep our group sizes small (maximum of 4 divers per dive guide), and there is a limit of 15 divers per dive site in Lembeh (including guides) which is very rare in Indonesia. For those wanting a more private or exclusive service we offer private guide and private boat services. As you were traveling with a group you were scheduled to dive with your group that you came with – apologies if our additional services outside of group services were not made clear to you. We pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainability and the local environment, we organise weekly beach cleanups, we are the founders of the Lembeh Foundation which provides education to local villages about plastic waste, reducing, recycling and repurposing, and the importance of protecting the local marine and terrestrial environments. Lembeh Foundation aims to also provide local communities with economically viable solutions to plastic waste. Lembeh Foundation has (so far) funded a waste bank project in our local village and Green Library learning center. We are always trying to do more and were a little surprised by your comments – there is always more to be done though, and we will review your feedback carefully – thank you. We do hope that this answers some of your points – if you have any further feedback, please contact us directly on gm@lembehresort.com. We do hope that you will visit Lembeh and Lembeh Resort again in the future. Best wishes, Kathrin

Think of this as a land based live aboard, but with better food, more comfort, no sea sickness, and the most awesome dive guides you will ever have the privilege of diving with. From the initial booking to the snack they serve you to eat at the airport, every encounter is efficient and makes clear that putting the guest first is a priority here. For example, they ensure that those guests who have dietary restrictions are given the same choice and good food and presentation as guests requiring no dietary restrictions. Vegetarians even get their own daily menu of delicious dinner choices to opt for. You can do four one hour dives a day, including a night dive. There are first class photography facilities and a Backscatter shop and lab on site with a pro to help you. There is a reason the BBC and other film crews come here time and time again. The location is at the epicenter of Lembeh's rich critter diving. Even if you think you don't much like muck diving and are not a photographer, a few dives with the resort's guides will turn you into fans. They have unbelievable eyes and know what critters are to be found on each dive. They will then effortlessly write the scientific and common name of each species on a slate when they find it, and leave you a list of everything you have seen for each dive. I dive a lot and hold the world record of diving in the most countries, but I doubt I will ever have a guide as good as Fandy Sangi, although the other dive guide taking another group on our boat out was also very good and the dive guides keep signaling to each other when they find things so that each group will see key critters. You dive from spacious boats with covered roof. They take care of loading your cameras and all your gear. Dive groups are usually not more than three to a dive guide. You get a spacious open closet for all your gear. The one issue is that during the rainy season the gear doesn't have time to dry between dives or even from day to day. They are about 1.5 hours from the airport by road and a short boat ride. This resort has justifiably won the best resort in Indonesia for multiple years. Now, isn't it fair to tip as if you were on a liveboard? I can't wait to come back here.

We stayed in the ocean view rooms with a living room and they were very clean, comfortable and spacious!! The A/C worked great!! The staff made the room twice a day including turn down service and left a small gift on the bed each night. There was a good choice of delicious food and the staff always called me by name. There was also some kind of presentation each night before dinner. The only negative I can think of is the restaurant doesn’t capture the breeze well and can be hot. The staff always greeted us by name and were there to help in anyway. They went over and above to help us get home early when the world went crazy over Covid-19. I highly recommend a stay here!!

Tropical resort blasted/carved into a canyon, friendly & efficient reception, excellent management, extensive breakfast & lunch selections suitable for 'grazing', prefered the buffet supper over 'a la carte' ordering & preparation, short 2-10 minute boat rides to dive destinations, great swimming pool for 'apres dive' chilling, strenuous climbing to the cottages but offering fantastic views.

Dear SuperDave47, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It was wonderful to read that you enjoyed Lembeh Resort's location - our beautiful cove is an entirely natural formation (no blasting) and there are numerous similar little coves along the coast of Lembeh Island. The natural backdrop of limestone and rainforest gives a wonderfully secluded feel and attracts a lot of wildlife too. We are glad to read you enjoyed our choice of meals, the pool and short boat rides to our dive sites, as well as the stunning views from our higher lying cottages. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Best wishes on behalf of the entire Lembeh Resort team, Kathrin
