We stayed in the ocean view rooms with a living room and they were very clean, comfortable and spacious!! The A/C worked great!! The staff made the room twice a day including turn down service and left a small gift on the bed each night. There was a good choice of delicious food and the staff always called me by name. There was also some kind of presentation each night before dinner. The only negative I can think of is the restaurant doesn’t capture the breeze well and can be hot. The staff always greeted us by name and were there to help in anyway. They went over and above to help us get home early when the world went crazy over Covid-19. I highly recommend a stay here!!

This resort was delightful and well run. We came as a family of 3, 1 experienced diver and 2 new divers, over Christmas break. The resort staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The resort rooms are very well done with sitting areas both inside and outside the bungalow. We stayed in the older rooms, but they were very comfortable and we’ll know to ask for the newer side next time. The bar serves a lovely daily cocktail featuring local flavors and the kitchen does a fabulous job with a breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, and a la carte dinner as well as fresh baked treats for after dives. Every meal was varied and delicious. The resort staff and the dive staff work seamlessly to bring you the dive vacation of your dreams no matter your experience. We can’t wait to visit again and join all the repeat visitors again at this beautiful and peaceful resort.

Think of this as a land based live aboard, but with better food, more comfort, no sea sickness, and the most awesome dive guides you will ever have the privilege of diving with.
From the initial booking to the snack they serve you to eat at the airport, every encounter is efficient and makes clear that putting the guest first is a priority here. For example, they ensure that those guests who have dietary restrictions are given the same choice and good food and presentation as guests requiring no dietary restrictions. Vegetarians even get their own daily menu of delicious dinner choices to opt for.
You can do four one hour dives a day, including a night dive. There are first class photography facilities and a Backscatter shop and lab on site with a pro to help you. There is a reason the BBC and other film crews come here time and time again.
The location is at the epicenter of Lembeh's rich critter diving. Even if you think you don't much like muck diving and are not a photographer, a few dives with the resort's guides will turn you into fans. They have unbelievable eyes and know what critters are to be found on each dive. They will then effortlessly write the scientific and common name of each species on a slate when they find it, and leave you a list of everything you have seen for each dive.
I dive a lot and hold the world record of diving in the most countries, but I doubt I will ever have a guide as good as Fandy Sangi, although the other dive guide taking another group on our boat out was also very good and the dive guides keep signaling to each other when they find things so that each group will see key critters.
You dive from spacious boats with covered roof. They take care of loading your cameras and all your gear. Dive groups are usually not more than three to a dive guide. You get a spacious open closet for all your gear. The one issue is that during the rainy season the gear doesn't have time to dry between dives or even from day to day.
They are about 1.5 hours from the airport by road and a short boat ride.
This resort has justifiably won the best resort in Indonesia for multiple years.
Now, isn't it fair to tip as if you were on a liveboard?

Spent a fantastic 9 days at Lembeh Resort to dive the various sites Lembeh Strait. Friendly warm welcome from the staff as is usual in Indonesia. Well laid out resort with a variety of comfortable rooms. Fantastic camera room for the underwater photographer with sockets accommodating all plug types. Minor issue with fitting UK plugs was resolved overnight by maintenance. Dive kit storage very well organised with ample hanging storage, disinfectant rinse tanks for wetsuits and other separate tanks for cameras, fins and BCDs. While daily boats take you to the various dive sites, the house reef is definitely worth at least one dive as there is plenty of interest from 2 metres to 20 metres including coral conservation structures. Choice of food in the restaurant for all meals will suit all tastes, the challenge is to keep the weight off due to the ample choices. Breakfast and lunch are buffets while dinner is from a menu which you order at lunch time. Mid morning and afternoon snacks are also available by the sea front. Very experienced dive guides (thanks Sandro, Fandy, Mike & Dimas) thoroughly knowledgeable and expert at finding critters. Generally a good quality on English spoken by most staff, with weekly teaching and staff development encouraged. Was difficult to dry dive kit due to humid conditions but staff were fantastic at placing in warmer areas to dry at the end of the trip. A very well run dive operation fronted by Kathrin Heussner and Brigitte Gassner who are readily available. Would highly recommend.

My third trip to Lembeh Resort and they have made tremendous improvements in all areas to what was already a very nice resort. This is an upscale dive resort positioned within a few minutes boat ride to the world class diving in the Lembeh Straits. My villa room was fabulous- roomy with living area, separate bedroom ( both with their own A/C unit), and well appointed bath with a large ope air shower. Hot and cold water dispenser in room, good internet signal, plenty of hot water in shower. Room was serviced twice daily. My patio looked out over the Straits with great sunsets. The restaurant is beautiful with amazing service and excellent food and healthy varieties of dishes. The diving operation is superb. You never have to lift a finger. Just go to the boat, your gear is already set up, take a short boat ride to world class sites, and the diver to divemaster ratio is no more than 4/1. I have 40 years of dive travel experience worldwide and this operation is among the best. If you are a serious dive traveler, you must check this out. Lots of rare critters guaranteed.

We visited the Lembeh Resort for the 5th time. It's always like a coming home! The staff is very friendly and attentively. The lunch is served as a buffet with a large varity of food, Indonesian and also western style. Diner was served as à la carte. We stayed in one of the bungalows recently renovated. Nice and spacy rooms with enough power plugs! And stunning view in the direction of Bitung. All is perfect! Thank you Katherine, Tarkan and the whole team!
Sure, our main reason to visit the Lembeh Resort is muck diving! As in the past years, we were diving with Abner. Incredible, what the guides all find in the dark sand or hiding in the corals, from tiny Pohonti seahorses, hidden Bluering octopus and many others. After each dive, a slate with the names of all found critters is provided. The boat crew is very helpful, also carrying around the cameras carefully. And always smiling! A thanks to Gitti and the whole dive staff!

Lembeh Resort is, at its core, a dive resort. People travel from around the world to dive the strait and see the amazing creatures living there.
From a dive perspective, Lembeh Resort is world class. Multiple boats, absolutely top notch dive guides, the dive team go above and beyond in all areas. The dive lockers are set up perfectly for you, the dive area makes sense and is well laid out. There is a dedicated camera room where you will have your own bench for the duration of your visit. Plenty of outlets and shelves for all your needs. The dive center is staffed by knowledgeable people who make it their business to keep you happy. We did a private boat one day and had a private guide for the rest. It was amazing. Our guide found all of the critters on our list and then some. He helped with camera shots and gave superb advice. The dive team takes care of it all. 5 out of five because we cannot give 6!
Moving on to the resort staff - top notch does not begin to describe the level of service, comfort and feeling of welcome. We were greeted by name by all staff from the moment of our arrival. This was our honeymoon and the staff made it all the more special. Truly world class.
The accommodations are excellent. Don’t forget this is a very remote area and the resort has created an oasis in the jungle. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with excellent appointment and function. Truly impressive to have a truly five star accommodation for a dive resort in a remote part of the world.
Which brings me to the cuisine. The chef and kitchen staff make truly amazing cuisine. Locally sourced and superbly prepared. Gourmet and then some. The breakfast and lunches are Buffett style - and it’s all absolutely top flight. Dinner is a la cart and again truly amazing. They honestly deserve a Michelin star!

My partner and I spent a week at Lembeh Resort in February with Kathrin and Tarkan. From the beautiful bungalow with a view of the Lembeh Strait and open bathroom, to the excellent food, which we have never experienced in this variety in Indonesia, to the incredible friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at the reception and in the service, this resort is a dream in every respect.
The very clean bungalows extend to the right and left of the reception and are wonderfully embedded in the rainforest. The food is excellent and offers typical local Sulawesian cuisine as well as various international dishes with meat, fish or vegetarian.
The affiliated dive center "Critters at Lembeh" offers a very good service. The equipment including camera is carried daily by the friendly staff on the spacious dive boats. There are 3 dives offered daily to nearby dive sites, which are reached in max. 10 min. Also night dives or black water dives are in the program. The guides are very friendly and do their best to find even the rarest critters. The dive groups are kept very small, so that every photographer can take enough time for his pictures.
We enjoyed our time at Lembeh Resort very much and we will definitely come again. Many thanks to the whole staff and the management Kathrin and Tarkan. You rock!

It’s a beautiful place, a green setting, only accessible by water or by track. The hotel is nestled here, at the foot of a hill, covered with tropical forest. The reception was charming and very considerate. We went around the property with a manager to visit reception, dive center, photo shop, and our villa. Located on the hillside, a bit sloping but with a nice view on the bay, the apartment was large, clean, comfortable and very well-equipped. The garden was well kept. Cooking was excellent, and various, both breakfast, lunch and diner. The staff was always smiling and helpful. The manager Agung came to greet us every day, talked and asked us if everything was going well. Really pleasant! The staff was also well supervised and met for job trainings. This piece of Earthly Paradise was ongoing in the sea. In the dive center, every diver had his place to hang gear: BCD, wet suit and regulator. Dive masters were very attentive and took care of our equipment, cameras included. Dives were a bit special (Muck) but amazing. Guides were very professional, with a perfect sites knowledge, showing us many “critters”. The boatmen were in the mood, dedicated and accommodating. After diving, photographers and videographers were pampered! I’ve never seen before a room as well designed and fitted for them! It’s a real five-star hotel and an example to follow. Everything is done for the guests to spend a wonderful and unforgettable stay. That’s done for us and we hope to come back.

We had a wonderful time here! The room was large and when our first room had a roof leak, they moved us to a bigger room with a better view! From a diving perspective, it was nice to be so close to the dive sites, all less than 15 minutes by boat. My diving partner and I had a single dive leader for all the dives, a kind and experienced young man who even cleaned our gear for us the day before we left and took it back to our room. The food was terrific and plentiful, included in the price of stay (save for beverages), and the staff really accommodating to any request. When my wife and our friend wanted to spend some time on the beach, they were taken by boat to a beach area for a half day. We did an excursion hike in a National Park and had a staff member accompany us with some park guides. Overall, this was a wonderful experience for us!

The Lembeh Strait is a great place for beginner divers, the unique geographical location of the Strait means that waves and swell are virtually existing, currents are generally mild on the rare occasion that we even have current :)
Lembeh Strait has the highest concentration of rare and unusual marine life in the world.
The black sand slopes of Lembeh Strait may at first look like a barren moon landscape but on further inspection you will find a huge diversity of amazing critters such as the hairy frogfish, blue ring octopus, bobbit worms, stargazers, seahorses and many, many more.
In addition to the macro-sites we also have some truly stunning coral reefs, especially our 3-tank trips to Bangka Island are very popular!
