We spent 9 nights at the Bunaken Cha Cha Resort. We were planning to spend time snorkeling and relaxing. Cha Cha exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was wonderful, the hosts (Raf and Reiko) were amazing, and the snorkeling was beyond belief. We have snorkeled in Hawaii, Palau, Yap, and Belize, but Bunaken is at the top of our list for a return trip and Cha Cha is the place we plan to stay. As snorkelers, we often end up on boats with divers. Bunaken National Park is one of those special places where divers and snorkelers can both get what they want on the same boat. The reason is that Bunaken is surrounded by coral walls; divers can enjoy the walls while snorkelers can enjoy the top of the wall and the shallow reefs next to the wall. If you are a couple or group with divers and snorkelers, Bunaken is the perfect destination. The best part is that on a typical trip to Hawaii we will photograph/identify 100 species of fish; in 8 days of snorkeling Bunaken we photographed/identified 290 species of fish! That includes 25 species of butterflyfish. Good luck finding better fish diversity than that. A bonus is that the fantastic house reef is a few short steps away and offers some species we could not find anywhere else. If you are looking for a place where you can spend the days in the water and the evenings socializing in a family-style setting with an international cross-section of guests, Cha Cha is the place to go.

Like stumbling upon a fairly high-class French/Indonesian/Japanese/Italian/Thai restaurant. On a remote island. No idea how Agnes does it, really. I'm vegetarian and she had good options for me. We're snorkelers. Good home reef right out the front of property, boat trips easily available. Water very clear. Coral in quite good condition, huge number of fish. Raf, Raiko and staff all very helpful. Stylish rooms with good views. Resort small and secluded. Air-con not operative from 10 pm till 6 pm, but effective during the day, when needed.

Had an absolutely fantastic time. Raff, Reiko and the staff all made us feel very welcome. The food under Agnes' direction was unbelievably good - varied, tasty and consistently to a really high standard. Rooms were clean and cool with a wonderful sea view and finallly, the diving/snorkelling was amongst the best I've had anywhere in the world.

We arrived on the private boat transfer arranged by Raff ( Owner) The immediate impressions of the location were stunning as it is secluded from other resorts. We were met by a very welcoming Agnes ( GM) and Crew. We stayed in the villa at the top( very secluded with great views of the water) My wife and I aren’t divers ( Cha Cha still welcomed us warmly- many resorts on Bunaken can be put off or refuse bookings) We were in need of a chill out having already been travelling in Indonesia for 5 weeks. Cha Cha was the perfect place to do this. The environment is interactive with the other guests and owners Raff and Reiko which we thoroughly enjoyed. Raff and Reiko have managed to achieve the perfect balance here in conjunction with a high level of detail. The staff were excellent. The food was absolutely outstanding which draws on many different types of Cuisine. We stayed for 4 nights and wanted to stay longer! We plan to come back to Indonesia in the future and would 100% return to Cha Cha. Thanks again Raff and Reiko. George and Di.

Dear George & Dianna Thank you so much for the lovely review, so glad that you both enjoyed your time with us at Cha Cha and that you managed to relax a bit after your long travels through Indonesia. Agnes has prepared some new vegetarian dishes that I am sure you can enjoy the next time you visit. We have altered slightly the terrace at the top Villa so now there is a little more shade from the sun without spoiling the views out over the sea. Hope to see you again in the near future and again a big thank you for the review from all at Cha Cha . Thank you for visiting Raf, Reiko, Agnes and all staff
