The Hotel is in need of a good overhaul in regards to Decorating, and the Bathrooms could do with some updating. That said our Room No 6 which was on the front side was ok and the Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was nothing special considering it was 9 euros!.

Very average, lavender wall paper, cramped bathroom/shower. Still, the continental breakfast (French style-not American) was good. Location is beautiful, staff was courteous. Not fancy but we slept well for 2 nights. Spent most of the day touring D-Day sites, so did not spend much time there. Thought the food prices were very high, not good for our family of 4... More

Staying at Hotel Le Duguesclin while visiting Normandy is a real plus. it is right across the street from the water, between Omaha beach and Gold beach, small enough to be personnel and the food was out of this world, I stayed here 2 yrs. ago and it is consistently good, maybe even great.

We stopped here for lunch and ordered the seafood "extravaganza" (our name for their serving of crab, langostino, oysters, shrimp, whelks and snails). It really was a gourmand delight. It is situated between Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and Utah Beach so named at the Normandy invasion. You will not be disappointed. The service is great (but brush up on... More

I stayed one night and I was positively surprised by the hotel. I had a 4 beds room with seasight. Clean and a real nice view. Except the carpet unfortunately is old and dirty and should be replaced. The restaurant and the food there is very good. Breakfast could be better, it is really basic...

Hotel Le Duguesclin should have been a great experience being situated on the beautiful Normandy coast-line at the lovely little village of Grandcamp-Maisy but unfortunately the poor state of the rooms and the poor service let the hotel down. The rooms were very dilapidated, with threadbare carpet, peeling wall-paper, noisy plumbing and slow hot water. The beds were old and... More

3.5 stars. Location was great during our 2 day tour of WWII sites. Being on the ocean was a plus, and our room overlooked it through an attic skylight style window. Quiet at night. We had a 2 room set-up, king bed on platform nearest window, and a second room with (twin?) bed as a walk-through to the bathroom. Not... More

Stayed 5 nights ideal as a central base for visiting the D Day beaches and museums. Hotel is a little worn but very clean. No breakfast supplied though this is a 9 euro supplement. Still there's a carrefore 3 mins away. Also didnt find anyone who spoke English as advertosed. As a place just to sleep it's ideal. But Grandcamp-maisy... More

We popped in Le Duguescilin by accident, as we were driving along the coast and looking for a restaurant for lunch. From outside the place looked a bit dodgy and very quiet, but It was a pleasant surprise! The restaurant was very clean, white table cloths; friendly service, very good food and reasonable prices. We chose fish which was indeed... More
