bad hotel don't go, hard bed we asked for an extra mattress we didn't get that, bad breakfast unhygienic, mold in the shower tile from the floor. hole in the ceiling, funfair in front of the window with very loud music, bad WiFi connection, rude employees, SO DON'T GO!!!!
We stayed in the hotel for three nights. It was our second stay in this hotel. Unfortunately, this time we were disappointed. This is definitely no longer a 4* hotel. We understand that it is a hotel in a small town but still some standards should be kept. The devil is indeed in details. The hotel as such is beautiful, the best location in the centre of Náchod. The reception staff was welcoming and friendly and tried to be helpful but at our arrival, we would have appreciated the usual info about the hotel/breakfasts/dinners etc. Big minus: nobody informed us that the reception and thus the hotel was closing at 11pm. We as well as apparently other guests did not receive any instructions what to do in that case. So on Saturday evening (!) when arriving at 11.30 pm to the hotel we found closed door, nobody at the reception and no information what to do. There was a group of guests who had been trying for some time to get to the hotel...We were lucky that our son stayed in the room so he came down to open the door for all of us. Later we were told we should have called a mobile number written on the card we received with the room key... Seriously??? The check out is already at 10 am which is quite early compared to the usual standard (11 am or 12 am) and also taking into consideration that the hotel breakfast is served until 10 am. We booked a room with a view to the square. Our room was huge and clean. The only minus: a broken hair dryer; the fridge did not work properly in any of the rooms we booked. The hotel breakfast was very good, good choice but the service was terrible, except the young man who was trying to help and do his job properly. The other staff was uninterested...and even rude. We also found it very strange that the tables were not re-dressed on some days. When we came to the breakfast room at 9.30, we had to look for the staff who was hiding in the kitchen and ask for the table to be prepared as all free tables were not cleaned up and prepared for next guests. Such a pity! We were told that some staff was there only temporarily for the summer but even in this case, the young ladies should be better trained. A smile and friendly attitude would not hurt. The staff makes the reputation of the hotel in the end. Overall, a big disappointment. Next time, we will look for other possibilities. …
The hotel is situated directly at the central square. There is public parking only which you get a permit for by the hotel. Reception at the front desk was OK but additional training of the staff might be a good idea. We were given a room on the top (4th) floor (lift available) as requested which offered a view of the town square. Is was sufficiently large and nicely furnished. There was a fridge and a TV in the room. Surprisingly the TV offered Czech language programs only. The Wi-Fi proved to be pretty slow. Bathroom and toilet were in separate rooms. It took very long before warm water was available, and it was difficult to regulate the temperature of the shower. The hotel’s restaurant offers good food.
For lunch you can order in this restaurant only the daily specials. On the other hand, to our surprise, the daily specials menu was even in English. The waiter was very friendly. After a few minutes, we got our food. Big, tasty portions for a fair price. Well done. The interior of the restaurant is worth seeing. The toilets in the basement are clean and modern. Too bad that the restaurant is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. On these two days, the food is served in other parts of the traditional hotel complex.
Spent one night at this hotel, and it was ok, but I would not stay for longer. I stayed at the apartments in old part of hotel (3 rooms + bathroom). The rooms were clean, bathroom looked clean also. But at the night during visiting batroom I was meet by.. insects! I have to say, my room was on the third floor. I dont know what kind of insects it were, i tryied to make a picture, which is attached. The picture is not a good quality, cause they were very fast. And there was a lot of them! In the morning they dissapered. What was positive is the view from the window! Great view of the main square of Nachod. Regarding breakfast:if you are trying to eat healthy, you will not have a breakfast. Cause even the porridge was caramelized. There was fried eggs and sausages. I asked for boiled eggs, but the waiter said they cannot do it. As a conclusion: if they will get rid of the insects it will be a nice hotel.…
Breakfast is OK. Diner is tirble. The do not understand a forain language. You get the wrong food. it was cold. ..... it was the last time i did stay i that hotel. I can not recommend this hotel. Please try an other hotel.
clean, quiet, comfort, mini-fridge in the room, the hotel is divided into two parts, old and new. In the old president apartment where he slept month Vaclav Havel when he shot the Movie in Nachod .. Tasteful decor, top service, Excellent food, let him put anything !! or just in the morning. 4 * deserved !! and a decent view! We were satisfied ... bad roll the hotel due by ... one drive direction, update your navigation ..!
There was good stay in the hotel directly in the city centre. But the restaurant.... well there was no waitress personal available during opening time. Probably they were relaxing. I need to call them to order and they never came again only once for paying. Better to prepare the food by myself.
We visited this hotel unplanned during our trip in Czech Republic. Fortunately they had an available room for us, we could have chosen between the standard room and art nouveau room, which were more expensive, so we chose the standard one with a view to the main square which was gorgeous. The room was comfortable but quite plain and the bathroom and toilet already need renovation. Anyway it was worth the money we paid. Breakfast was quite ok, even though sometimes we were missing basic stuff and we had to ask waiter to refill it. What I didn't like was quality of tea (the cheapest one) and cakes - I cannot understand that a 4 star hotel serves cakes bought from grocery not the self made ones... The dinners we had in the hotel restaurant were delicious on the other side. The staff was very nice and professional.…
Hotel U Beranka is a "must visit" place in Nachod. Facing the old town hall, the baroco church with thatched roof dome, the hotel is quite impressive. Spacious coffee room and equally spacious restaurant with beautiful chandeliers and a perfect view on the main square speak of the 1900 era and match spacious rooms with large double-paned windows in the old building. Bathrooms display, whenever possible, art deco geometrical sanitary and bold colours. The modern part of the builiding - above the reception - is less styled and the rooms are quite plain.
