I'm in here right now, in the trenches of a great scientific meeting! But I can't hesitate to write these words. Altes Kloster has a uniqe quite space near Vienna, but the high light for this hotel is its friendly staff specially a kind and nice receptionist in the evenings that you can't imagine how one can be. Foods are...

This former monastery is now a beautiful hotel, complete with soaring arched ceilings. It's located very close to the Danube and within easy walking distance of everything you might want to see. Our room on the second floor was huge with 2 windows facing the courtyard. We heard it could get noisy at night facing that way, so we confirmed...

We just stayed for one night on a cycling trip. Haimburg is a lovely little town and Altes Kloster was the old monastery. Very sensitively and tastefully converted, the rooms were huge with a great view. The Silentarium Sauna was a welcome retreat after a long day. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. No aircon but the rooms have high...

It's a nice place, in beautiful location, nice view of Danube, it is clean (some places in the room seemed a bit dusty but generaly it was clean), quiet and warm. The staff wasn't always very polite and friendly, and sometimes providing information in English was difficult. The meals menu was fine with tasteful buffet. The rooms are big enough...

Altes Kloster is a beautiful boutique hotel in the quaint town of Hainburg, well located between Vienna and Bratislava. Very quiet, clean, comfortable and large rooms, with a nice breakfast buffet. This is a 17th Century building very nicely renovated, that combines classical and modern taste. Nice and helpful staff. Some rooms have a nice view on the Danube. Also...

The hotel is an old converted monastery, and many of the old features are still there. A beautiful mix of old and new. My room (220) was very nice, plenty of space, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and the best shower I have had in any hotel! However the huge downside of this room is that it overlooks the courtyard. I...

Beautiful, gorgeous hotel that is converted from a 12th century monastery. Great breakfast buffet. For where it is, it's superb. Could use A/C and wifi that reaches all the rooms. If that's not an issue for you, then this will be your 5 star. It probably is a 5 star compared to local competition though.

The setting of this hotel is lovely, the public spaces are lovely and the rooms are certainly adequate. Unfortunately the night that we stayed the hotel were hosting a wedding. This meant the hotel restraunt was closed until 7.40pm and the rest of Hainburg appeared to close at 2.30 pm on Saturdays. We did manage to find somewhere to eat...

The hotel design, combination of old and new, is beautiful, though not always convenient. Arriving after a long day of bicycle riding the room was very hot, and there is no AC in the building. Staff very friendly.

This hotel was built as a monastery, and retains the vaulted ceilings and 3' thick walls. It was renovated in 2006 to a high standard, and the modern minimalist aesthetic works beautifully. It doesn't look like much from the outside, so it's a real delight to experience it once you walk in.
