4 of us stayed here in September. 1st of all the water/beach/pool is amazing. The hotel/restaurant were everything you could possibly want. This is on a bay so it is like swimming in a salt water lake, great restaurants to walk to along the bay. But the best is the staff. We needed help with some travel issues & Senka & Darjia at the front desk went above & beyond to help us. We traveled for 4.5 weeks & no where else came close to their quality of service. Thank you

Ok, I have to start by saying - I didn't experience the breakfast, the food or the pool / beach... you can read all about those in others reviews, and by all accounts they are good. Also, I was here very briefly, and that is my biggest regret. Long review explaining why, but in my opinion, the customer service alone makes this a 5 start hotel. I’ve wanted to visit Croatia since the war ended. 25+ years later it finally happened. However, I worried it wasn’t going to be the Croatia I dreamed of then… with tourism opening up, Game of Thrones and Europeans knowing about the amazing Dalmatian coast long before most Americans… I anticipated catering to tourists (in the form of expensive, bland pasta.. sightseeing tours competing with each other for your attention and clubs blasting music outside your hotel window until 1 am… ). I’ve indeed seen that and it’s fine / expected. But… when I booked Korcula, honestly, I expected more of the above and it was meant to be essentially a stopover to Brac and finally Vis. But- I was distracted at work and took the hotel most highly rated on TripAdvisor; Aminess Lume. Where I didn’t do my homework- I’m without a car- Aminess is a 45 (ish) minute cab ride (& 550 Kuna / 75 usd) from the port. But- I figured, my mistake, I’ll take this hit. On the way there the cab driver (who was lovely by the way) told me I was staying in a tiny village, not much going on. Figured I’d chalk this up as a learning lesson and get some good sleep. This was the best "mistake" / happy accident I made on this trip. This is the Croatia I was hoping to find. After my long and expensive cab ride I was greeted by Darija. Full disclosure, her English is excellent and I'm sure that helped (but I don't totally credit that as I had another excellent experience later in my trip where the English wasn't as perfect as Darija's... it's enthusiasm and energy. The other mistake I made was not asking if the hotel could pick me up. They could for 20 euros, much less than the cab ride. Darija set me up in my room and quickly brought the "tiny village" to life. I had a plan within half an hour and it was one of the best nights I had in Croatia. The driver for the hotel will take you into town for 10 euros to the local, small, friendly wineries to wine taste old school style (not heavy fees and pressure to buy style). Darija recommended three places (could have seen many more if I'd had the time) and I started with Toreta, had some lovely wine and learned about Posip, the wine of the region. The next place I went I sat with a lovely older woman who spoke no English, but sat with me and watched the sun set while I tried GRK, Posip and her olive oil. And finally the last one (Grosci) which was the most lovely... I sat with one of the owners (family owned, I believe they all are) and had such a nice conversation about how the wineries have changed, how they are affected by increased heat, the area. A really really genuinely nice experience. Once back to the hotel, I walked down to the waterfront for dinner and had dinner literally on the water - at Konoba Mali Jakov. A small, quiet waterfront, excellent food. Perfect Croatian experience. Darija also scheduled my (way too early) drive back to the ferry at 7 am. And everything went so smoothly. I was so grateful for this experience as it is exactly what I was looking for - and not just Darija- both drivers and the woman at reception in the morning were all so lovely, friendly and helpful... and all the reason to return here over and over.

A hotel in a remote location, far from crowds, yet easily reachable (within an hour drive) from Korcula town. Beautiful beaches around, small restaurant and a shop in the neighbourhood but you don't really need anything more because Hotel Lume has it all. Breakfests and dinners were very tasty with a wide range of food. Drinks at the pool bar - delicious. Piano concert in the evening - wonderful.

The water surrounding this hotel is crystal clear, some of the clearest water I’ve ever seen on my travels around the world. There was always sun-loungers available despite people throwing their towels on them before breakfast. Our hotel room itself was comfortable, great air con but the bathroom was a little dated. This didn’t bother us as it was still functioning fine and was a cosmetic issue. We had a beautiful sea view from the balcony which was nice to relax on during the evening. The room was very clean and tidied everyday. You could rent kayaks and a SUP from the hotel which was nice, the town of Brna itself is very isolated with only perhaps 3 Konobas to eat at during the evening and one small shop. If you want to explore the island you need a car - we rented a small Smart Car for the day from the hotel for 40 euros. There are some incredible beaches around the island and Korcula town is not to be missed. Breakfast was great we had no issues here, a wide selection and something for everyone. The coffee wasn’t great but we found this throughout our travels through Croatia. It was lovely to be able to sit outside everyday by the ocean whilst eating. The evening & pool food is what really let’s the hotel down unfortunately. The evening buffet just isn’t good, for example whilst we were there we saw plain pasta - no sauce, frozen fish fingers, soggy fries, mushy vegetables - it just wasn’t nice. Most evenings I ate from the salad bar. There was also very limited vegetarian options available. Service is also very slow often waiting a long time to order drinks, nearly every evening we also found there were no desserts left as we like to eat a bit later around 8:30pm. The pool bar/cafe food also wasn’t good :( I think a more simple menu would be better. It’s a real shame as I would love to give this hotel 5 stars but the food did let it down. Everything else was great, really friendly staff, helpful, clean and relaxing! Overall we left feeling really relaxed and rested.

A long review but meant in tA long review but wanted to highlight the pluses and minuses of the Aminess Lume. Set right on the beach in Brna, it’s a fantastic spot to enjoy the sun and jump straight into a crystal-clear sea. There are plenty of sun loungers to enjoy the setting and the beach bar offers a nice range of drinks either to enjoy in the bar or to take down to the beach. There are also kayaks and SUP’s available to rent. Breakfast is a classic buffet style and does its best to try to cater to tastes from all nationalities. The coffee machine is a little bit ropey but other than that we enjoyed our breakfasts here. There are though a few challenges worth flagging - The rooms are quite small. We stayed in a family room with teens and it felt like a real squeeze. The kids’ part of the room has no wardrobe or balcony so you’re all reliant on one small room for facilities. The bathroom itself is very small and facilities-wise more akin to what you’d expect in an airport hotel where people are only staying one night - There are very few restaurants of any note in Brna itself (there are 3 around the bay but nothing special). Korcula town itself is buzzing but is a 45 m drive or 400kn (each way) taxi drive away. There could be therefore a real opportunity for the hotel to create a really beautiful place to dine but we found the buffet-style dinner pretty awful and food was being cleared away mid-service so we didn’t even get a chance to take full advantage of it - The outside space of the hotel is really only geared around daytimes. The brochure is full of pictures of candles lighting the sun deck etc and creates the impression of a lovely spot to have a drink in the evening by the sea. In reality, other than the beach bar, the hotel is plunged into darkness (even the balconies don’t have lighting) so you feel like you either have to sit in the bar or be stuck in your room. There is so much potential to do more here – there are large areas outside C block which could have outdoor sofas/ lighting and create a really brilliant atmosphere Overall we enjoyed our stay here but it is definitely a 3 star hotel. I would also recommend it’s somewhere to spend 3-4 days whilst exploring the island (s) rather than somewhere to base yourself for longer in a resort-style (as we did). The staff (especially on reception and at Café Val) were incredibly friendly but we left feeling that the hotel could do so much more to fulfil its potential he

The Aminess Lume is located right on the sea in the sleepy village of Brna on Korčula’s south coast, about 40 minutes drive from the Korčula car ferry terminal. It’s a simple, very comfortable, beautifully run hotel. It directly accesses a beach offering great ocean swimming and also has a swimming pool. Plenty of comfortable beach chairs. Hard to beat breakfast buffet including anything you could possibly want is included in the room price. Dinner is either buffet or à la carte. There’s also a terrific, shady bar/restaurant near the swimming areas that operates during the day. Our two rooms had great ocean views and were very comfortable, with strong air conditioning, king size double beds and good bathrooms. All staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, with reception generously giving us a discount when we checked out because one of our two rooms was occupied only by one adult (the other being an eight-week old). If you don’t feel like having dinner at the hotel, Brna village has two taverns we used (the Konoba Brna and the Konoba Zaratak), which offer excellent food, service and atmosphere.

If you want to soak up the warm Croatian sun, dip in and out of the cool Adriatic ocean and REALLY chill and unwind then this is the place to do it. The hotel has everything you need, a pool, direct access to the ocean and a lovely cafe which serves fantastic cocktails and lunch time dishes. There is evening entertainment and the breakfast and dinner buffets are delicious and of course the wine selection is tops, due to the fact that the hotel is near first class vineyards. The beds are super comfy and the air cons in the rooms work wonders against the mid summer heat! My partner and I spent 4 days at the hotel and we honestly feel like we have been there for two weeks- That’s how relaxed we are! We will definitely be back!
