Detailed Reviews
We travelled in July 2012 and are a middle-aged lesbian couple. Apartment Laguna is excellent and the hosts, in particular, Danijela very warm, welcoming and helpful (we only met Zoran once or twice but he too was very friendly). We stayed in the Modern Apartment (2nd floor). I would have no heistation in recommending this accommodation. There were familues and young heterosexual couples also staying in the small complex so suitable for all sorts! Self-catering, shops in Lumbarda - a 10 minute slow walk away, beach (which we did not like but that is just preference), 25 minute walk, Korcula town, 10 minute bus ride and what we loved most, a swim in the azure blue sea off the pier or off the rocks, 2 minutes from apartment. Fab! Lumbarda is a very straight oriented village and as, with it seems much of Croatia not the most gay friendly. Now having said that we had no hassle, more a feeling of being looked at a lot. Our age and ethnicity probably helped. Lumbarda/Korcula/Croatia is very white and we wondered if Black or Asian people would feel as welcome. We didn't get to discuss this with anyone though. Overall, we had a great holiday but being gay we were extra careful at times.

+1
Villa Laguna is a beautiful two-storey stone house, surrounded by a wide garden, utilized as mini-camping (complete with all required facilities); it’s located on the main road connecting Korčula (as well as the arrival port of ferries coming from Orebić) to the small town of Lumbarda. The house is located on the right, just in front of the very first bay you’ll see on your left.
The owner, Danijela, is very funny and available, ready to suggest anything you need to enjoy your stay at best.
We have been staying at Moderno apartment, located on the second floor, at the corner; once climbed through the external stair and reached the apartment, we’ve been very much impressed by the beautiful and wide terrace (with table, stairs, and a useful tenth), with a view on the bay in front and on the surrounding countryside. The view becomes particularly suggestive with the sunset lights.
The kitchen was wide, with a relaxing green color, well furnished and complete with all required accessories; there were a capacious fridge, a comfortable sofa, the satellite TV, an efficient air conditioning, a perfectly functioning wi-fi.
The huge and comfortable bedroom is located on the back, which guarantees quiet and restoring sleeping; bed was wide and cushy. The bathroom was comfy as well, with an efficient shower box.
The road just in front of the house looks not busy, and the area is very quiet.
Lumbarda is reachable from Villa Laguna in just a few minutes (it’s almost 1 km far); there you can find supermarkets and several pleasant restaurants. The town of Korčula (located at about 5 km) is reachable by car in a few minutes as well.
Definitely a wonderful stay, that we’d be very happy to repeat, once in the amazing island of Korčula again in the future. Strongly recommended!

We are overwhelmed with Croatia and Lumbarda!
Our host Daniela was very kind and open for help. There was enough space for children to play. The sea is just few meters away. Beautiful view of the nature, bay and the mountain.
We highly recommend Villa Laguna and we are hoping to come back next year as well.

The owners Danijela & Zoren are very friendly & helpful - your own little Tourist info office. The accommodation is immaculate, modern and very clean. The view from the terrace over the sea/harbour is lovely. They hire out 1,2 & 3 people kayaks, plus bikes. We are recommending to family & friends. You are not in the centre but a 5 min walk away, but we preferred this ourselves.

Stayed here for a week in midJune and wished it had been longer. Daniella speaks excellent English and is very helpful. We had the 2nd floor apartment which was well equipped and had a lovely view of the sea. The villa is set in large gardens with many vegetables grown by her parents. The village was only 5-10mins walk and had all the shops you needed for self catering as well as a good selection of restaurants and trips. We had a car but the bus stop was just outside so it was easy to get to Korcula town(worth a visit) or the sandy beach. You could also swim just across the road.
In summary, a lovely relaxing place.

We just came back from our Kroatia trip and I can advise everyone to go there BEFORE the summer season (because the few beaches get easily overcrowded and the same goes for the ferries which, in summer, have to refuse cars..).
We were welcomed in Villa Laguna by Daniela, a very nice lady who speaks English very well.
Villa Laguna is a nice-looking, small, two floor building just opposite the water when you drive into Lumbarda. There is a nice garden which also includes a camping space.
Except for a small spider web in the corner of the ceiling, the apartment looked nice and clean and Daniela obviously takes good care of it.
The only thing we were a bit disappointed of, was the terrace/view. There was no real separation between the terraces of the two appartments on our floor and furthermore, the people of the apartment next to ours, had to walk past our apartment to get to theirs. The view was, as it's often the case, nicer on the photos. In reality, the water was a bit further away and not directly opposite our terrace. There was also quite a busy road between the water and Villa Laguna. And no view from inside the appartment unfortunately.
Villa Laguna also offers a bike rental service which we used and found a bit pricy because the lack of maintenance of the bikes.
But all in all we had a nice stay there.

Stayed at Villa Laguna for 5 nights and had a lovely time. The location is great, the house is surrounded by lovely gardens and can rent bikes too. Also lots of vineyards in the area where you can go for tastings. There are lots of good local restaurants and all the locals we met, in Croatia as a whole, were very friendly. We were given a free upgrade to an apartment which was clean and comfortable. Has a small kitchen and fridge so we were able to self-cater. Lumbarda is a quiet place not as busy as Korcula town which is about 10 minutes by bus or an hours walk. Must go to Mljet National Park it is stunning, can get a ferry from the centre of Lumbarda which is about 5 mins walk away, its cheaper and more convenient then getting it from Korcula. Buy a ticket from the guy at Pelorus travel. Overall had a very enjoyable stay at Villa Laguna, Danielja and Zoran are very friendly and helpful and would definately recommend Villa Laguna.

We just loved our stay at Laguna apartments! The manager, Daniela, lives in the house with her husband and children, and they are so great people! Always helpful and eager to please their guests.
Our apartment was at the top (2nd floor), with a nice kitchen/living room, and with a large balcony facing the Racisce Bay. The road from Korcula town to Lumbarda centre is right outside, but it is not too much traffic, and it was a really nice place to relax in the evening with a 2 year old child gone to sleep.
The house is situated just by the sea, 5 min walk from the village centre, but to get to the sandy beaches you have to walk for about 20-30 min, or better, as we did, rent a car from one of the agencies in Vela Luka or Korcula town. The sandy beach Vela Przina is very child friendly and was not too crowded (late June).
Korcula, and especially Lumbarda, is not a commercial holiday resort, but a quiet place to relax and getting a real Dalmatian/Croatian experience.
Higly recommended!

The hostess is very welcoming and ensures that everything is to our liking. She gives good advice on visits,
Delicious and very generous breakfast. Very quiet location at night despite the proximity to the road. Lumbarda is a fairly quiet village (out of season)
Superb view of the small port.
Breakfast (optional) is taken outside, which can be a problem out of season.
