I was here for five nights on business in town and stayed in a 2BR apt. a couple of doors down from the hotel & pub. It's an easy .6 mile walk from the rail station (even in a cold Jan. shower). I only had breakfast once, because Morrison's Grocery is nearby and I had a full kitchen so ate...

We came here for lunch one weekday and again had a very enjoyable meal with friendly service. We only come every 3-4 months and are always impressed with our meal and how popular the place is. Just an observation - serving a huge burger with fries on a wooden board didn't work for us and we had to ask for...

There is always a friendly welcome in this historic coaching inn. The food is plain but you will not go away hungry - portions are generous! It is popular with family parties although the Sunday carvery is variable.

After coming here last week for a works Christmas meal, as the food was really nice I decided to return with a friend for lunch. I was not disappointed. We chose from the main menu and all three courses were delicious for both of us. The chef and his team deserve to be praised for both the quality and presentation...

Enjoyed our 2-day stay. The historic building is a delight, our room was huge, compete with a 4-poster, although the en-suite was a bit cramped, but at least had room to put out our toiletries, and had a hook on the back of the door (is it me or are these dying out?). The dinner menu offered a wide variety...

The hotel itself has a bar with lots of beers and a courtyard. The atmosphere is great. There are rooms above it. It looks cosy and 'oldy worldy'. The apartments are very modern. So you have a choice but if you stay in the apartment you are still welcome to eat and drink at the hotel itself, so you'll get...

Lovely stay at the Bull.. The building is full of character and has been used as an inn since the 1500s, very friendly staff (who gave me the history!), great atmosphere, excellent breakfast (rarely do I eat a hotel breakfast but didn't leave a thing!) highly recommended. Thank you!

We booked the 2-bedroomed apartment which is located away from the main pub building. We were very impressed with the size, cleanliness and accommodation offered. The main reception room/kitchen was much bigger than expected - we never believe the photos and wonder if they were taken with a fish eye but this time they were a true reflection! Fully functional...

One sunny afternoon I walked with my two black Labradors and a Blenheim cavalier into the town centre. I wanted a drink and lunch, and chose the Old Bull Inn because I knew they welcomed dogs and because I used to frequent the place when I was younger. It was a lovely sunny day, and I chose a table outside...
