A charming place to stay, the rooms were lovely, the views easy on the eye, the food great, and the staff so accommodating. There are numerous public footpaths around the inn, and the village of Lower Slaughter is picture postcard perfect nestled between Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the water.

So two night stay for our wedding anniversary, we had a lovely Sunday lunch there, however in the evening we just fancied a sandwich, not much to ask considering there are chefs there!! But no I might have well asked for a chauffeur driven rolls Royce............how can this hotel seriously think it's five star when they can't even do there... More

The Inn is perfectly situated right next to the river with an outstanding outside seating area for reading or drinking. There is a walking trail that goes from Lower Slaughter to Bourton-on-the-Water. We stayed in an attached two story cottage which was roomy and comfortable. The staff is very helpful. The restaurant has good food and it is moderately priced.... More

My wife and I recently spent two nights here as a small anniversary celebration, never having visited the Cotswolds area. Situated in a lovely riverside location and enjoying a relaxed atmosphere, the quality of service from the various staff personnel was as high as I've experienced in nearly a hundred hotels (many of them being far more expensive) throughout the... Called in after a drive round the Cotswolds , we had a coronation chicken club sandwich and a Caesar salad , both were fine and can to £19. Lovely setting and then we had a walk along the river. Easy parking and not to far to either Bourton or Stow.

Quintessential Cotswolds Very nice Inn, clean rooms. We had a comfy two night stay with our baby. Food very good. Staff pleasant but in general a little lacking in soul. We ate on the terrace, I find it interesting that the wait staff have a base station outside, it's clear they are to remain outside and in view at all... More

One of the best locations in the Cotswolds. Stayed for 2 nights. Room good and very clean. Unfortunately at top of building and no view. Breakfast very good. Evening meal OK but a bit on the expensive side. Same menu in bar as the restaurant which seems very odd. Should be slightly less expensive bar menu with bit more choice.... More

We met here for a family meal.....table booked in the rather rustic dining area alongside the bar. Enjoyed a good service from pleasant helpful staff.....Food was freshly cooked to order and enjoyed by all....mixed menu with good choices.....Bit pricey but then location is beautiful...We ventured out into the gardens which are extensive and well kept. Such a peaceful location, with... More

Stayed here for 2 nights as a birthday treat. Hotel and surrounding areas beautiful. A few issues though, stayed in Walpole and the shower was so low I could only just stand under it but my partner had no chance. First day of breakfast the eggs benedict was served cold, muffin not toasted and eggs hard boiled but second day... More

The location is great and the hotel is just right for some peace and quiet in the English countryside and the very special village of Lower Slaughter. Our suite was "The Manor", which is very large and perfect for our family of five.
