Picturesque location, warm and friendly welcome, delicious food and wine (including options for different dietary requirements), a refreshing can-do response to any enquiry, and overall a wonderful stay
Great experience at this beautiful cottage in the Cotswolds. Friendly and professional staff. Comfortable and lovely cottage. Quiet location in the countryside. High quality and variety in the breakfast.
There are not many places that I find can ‘tick all the boxes’, but The Slaughters Inn was definitely one of them. Quality from every department. Very professional but very approachable as well. Well done - cannot recommend enough.
We had a lovely one night stay on a Sunday, we had stayed at the Slaughters Country Inn before Covid and were delighted that it hadn’t changed at all. The service from all staff was excellent, the food was as delicious as ever and the room was extremely comfortable. We will certainly return.
Relaxing and comfortable stay. Friendly staff could not have done more, nothing was an issue. Very happy we chose the Slaughters. Sad we only booked one night. Breakfast was truly amazing. We are planning to return very soon
Just had a really lovely stay here.Booked a 2 night break at a really good price and we were upgraded to a better room on arrival.Everywhere was warm and cosy, the room was gorgeous, and the bathroom had a large shower and a big bath.Staff were friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was superb,so much to chose from and excellent value for the price we paid. The grounds are fabulous for strolling round,it was frosty and cold this time but we have been in the summer and sitting outside is fabulous. Just a few, small negatives…plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate&lovely biscuits in the room but never enough milk!!We had a little flask thing which was nearly empty on our arrival. At dinner we asked for some more so we could have a drink in the morning and were given a very small jug of milk which I put in the flask. When we arrived back after a day out the room had been cleaned and bed made etc …but the milk flask was more or less empty! Its not a big thing but I just don’t get why it’s something that’s overlooked? Also, the bar area is just not comfy enough, wooden tables and chairs are plentiful but only 4 comfy leather sofas which are nearly always occupied,2 in front of a gorgeous open fire and 2 in another area while in another space another gorgeous open fire with just a wooden bench, table and chairs nearby, which seems a waste really. Also it would be ideal if bar snacks were served until later in the evening. There is the dinner menu, which is a bit limited and very expensive. We had this one evening but set off out the next evening as we didn’t feel like a “dinner”..more a bar meal type of thing, which was a shame as we’d have preferred to just sit in the bar area and enjoy some drinks etc as it was cold and frosty outside. That said it was a lovely break and it’s certainly a gorgeous place to stay.…
Highly recommend, relaxing & great food in a beautiful little village within walking distance of Bourton on the water Rooms are very comfortable & it’s nice having a drink in the bar/lounge We will be back soon
We stayed here just one night for a weekend break but would gladly have stayed longer. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, the room spotless, large and very comfortable, the food exceptional and the location beautiful. We will definitely be back.
Lovely warm greeting on arrival and a room upgrade made for a great start to our night away. The room was really nice and the bed was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed a night time walk before having a fabulous dinner at the hotel restaurant where again the staff were excellent. Two roaring fires in the bar made a wonderful atmosphere for drinks after and then breakfast the next morning was again faultless. Would 100 percent stay here again and would recommend to others Thank you for a much needed break
Absolutely brilliant stay and a stunning property with great staff managed by Steve who was instrumental in our great stay. Close to great amenities but situated in the most stunning village of lower Slaughter.
