Eftalia gave me and my family an unforgettable experience during our 2 weeks stay from the moment we got there. Starting from our room being double booked... although with persistence they let us in the room we had originally booked after telling us we could go to a different hotel..? Apart from that, everything was great, especially for the price. All staff were amiable and helpful and were not shy to say hello which made us feel incredibly welcome. Entertainment-wise, the animation crew (especially Ahmet) were great at keeping my family in the loop with activities in and around the hotel, including a visit to nightclub Club Summer Garden for 10 Euros including transport there and back and a free cocktail! There was always something to do, especially on "Eftalia Island" including a disco every night, a show, pool games, foam parties on the beach and a lot of watersport activities provided by Big Kral(?) including jet skiing, although at a price. What's nice was that everything was fairly priced or even quite cheap shopping-wise, (they have a mini-market where you can get tattoos, clothes, fried chicken, waffles... the list goes on!). The water park was great on the island too and also in the hotel itself with no issues during my stay. Food was decent all-round depending on what you like - a picky eater like my sister will stick to fries and chicken nuggets, but the non-picky can choose an array of different Turkish foods, fresh pizza and a lot more. Breakfast was very good as well. They often have different themes on different days, for example, on one day there is a fruit festival where they have all kinds of fruits on a display, a Turkish evening where they have kebabs made in front of you, burger nights... honestly you get it all. There are also ladies who make fresh Turkish pastries during the afternoon and ice cream stops around. Our room was decent - 4 people consisting of 2 single beds and one double bed although it did feel a bit cramped at times, honestly, you can get past that considering there are so many things to do, you won't be in your room that much. The "village" theme of the hotel is really represented as all the different buildings have different names and look like they are on a street which is aesthetically pleasing. All rooms are air-conditioned (lobby, restaurant etc) and I never noticed any problems with cleanliness around the hotel as it seems there are cleaners 24/7. You can't go wrong staying at Eftalia and my family and I can't wait to come back in June!

Serious safety incident
We returned home last week, though one the whole we had a wonderful break in Turkey. During our stay, i paid to have a massage at the spa in the hotel. I was taken into a room by one of the male masseuses, and told to lay front down on the bed. I straight away felt uncomfortable as i would usually prefer a female (or at least given a choice)! I had my bikkini on but during the massage he pulled off my bikkini top. He didn't ask if this was ok, i felt extremely uncomfortable and exposed. He started with the lower part of my body and massaged my legs, feet, thighs and my bottom. He pulled my bottoms completely to one side and focused on this part of me for what seemed an unessecary amount of time. He then moved onto my top half (which is when he removed my bikini top. At this point he pulled my pants down to the top of my thighs (exposing my entire bottom) He then proceeded to massage (again a focus on this area). At times he parted my cheeks and he put his fingers in the middle. I feel ridiculous and weak for not standing up and telling him that this was unacceptable, i just sort of froze. He was also putting all his weight on my head which made it hard to move. I felt scared, exposed and violated. He then asked me to turn over (at which point i thought we had finished) he moved onto my shoulders and top half, where he touched the sides and inbetween my breasts. This is totally unacceptable and personally i think he saw an opportunity to touch a woman up. After the treatment i was in shock. He pulled the towel off and insisted on wrapping it round me (again exposing my naked top half). He picked me up off the bed and put me on the floor, then put his arm round me and led me out of the room. I felt so vulnerable and a little like a bit of meat. Afterwards i sort of mentioned something to my partner, but massively played it down, as he was ready to go down and thump him. This is why i didn't complain at the time. I just feel this sort of treatment is completely unacceptable, i realise there are cultural differences, but in my eyes there is no excuse for this. Especially on a family holiday booked with a reputable firm such as Jet2. What's more my (almost) 14 year old wanted a massage too, but decided against it at the last minute. What if that had been my 14 year old? This is the main reason i'm bringing it to other people’s attention. I don't ever want a woman having to go through this at your resort. I'm sure i can't be the only one? possibly woman may have had this experience but not reported it, as like me felt they should have got up and walked out. When you are in shock and feel vulnerable it doesn't always go that way though as i now realise. I have emailed Jet 2 about my ordeal but as of yet have had zero response, which given the nature of my complaint, i find disgraceful. This is why i am now putting it on here. I don’t ever want any women (girl) going through this. I feel like @jet2 need to take some action, this happened in one of their hotels.

Honestly we wanted to love this olace it looked fantastic for out teenage sons having read the reviews they were mixed but we wanted to make our own minds, but unfortunately it did not go that way, right from the off we experienced a rubbish time with the transfer being like a white nuckle ride ( thanks @jet 2) driver on phone swaying on road the whole way back doors opened mid tranfer whilst a young family were sat close took the driver a while to even notice. After arriving at the hotel, very basic was not the word, Staff was rude food was a joke , you could not get a table , predominantly catered for Russian not English, shops In the hotel aggressive behavior, the island, half the slides were closed all-inclusive confusing different for all and bars different rules and the place was filthy, the local town was so scary and the people were so aggressive to the point where we were met with such aggressive behaviour the locals tried to punch our teenage son for not wanting to buy a tshirt, this ended up in us as a family moving hotels two hours away to feel safe. Please read the reviews before booking this hotel ...would not return, we have been to Turkey many times but have never experienced this hostile behaviour would never return to this part of Turkey again .

After seeing some of the negative reviews on here I was apprehensive about our stay but we've had a fantastic time. The waterparks kept all 7 of us busy in the day & there was enough to do in the evenings. The menu is locally themed but we found the experience of trying new food a good one as opposed to wanting traditional English fayre. The staff are quick to hint for a tip but I imagine that I paid more for our holiday than some of them earn in a year so if we received good service, I didn't mind rewarding them. The drinks were limited in choice but we were on a family holiday so weren't here to get on the sesh and therefore the options were more than enough for us. Some of the younger male staff were "attentive" towards our teen daughters but not so much that I felt the need to intervene. All in all, we've had a great time.

The rooms are basic but nice and very clean and the cleaner leaves bottles of water every morning. The food isn’t great and not much for English people. very repetitive. We were here for 2 weeks so food got a bit boring. No entertainment at the actual hotel but going over to the island there is some to do for all ages. Ahmet from animation team encouraged people to get involved in the pool games and to get involved in the evening activities on the island, such as bingo and seeing the shows. The complex/ resort is good and lots of staff. I got unwell on the holiday and the staff helped me so much.
