I want to start by saying the hotel has great location, clean and is a good value. We arrived at 1:38 no one in reception so go into bar, because as we've seen before in these small hotels they check you in through the bar. Told by bartender she could not check us in and owner would be back at 3:30. We called them they said they would be back at 3:30, at 3:45 still not there. We had been sitting outside the entire time, because there was no safe place to put our luggage to even walk around. 3:50 the bartender calls them to see were they are and they tell her they will be there in fifteen minutes and to check us in, now couldn't they do that from the very beginning? We had reserved the room in advance and had our info. Second they had a staff member that was rude and would laugh because my Spanish was not good and think I didn't understand what she was saying, normally that would not bother me, but with the bad start it just accentuated the terrible experience!
